  • It only happens on one of my leg days which consists of supersets and a quad sets. My old plan was more of a pyramid type plan. I don't drink a shake before I work out but do drink a preworkout. When I first started this new plan I was on a break from my preworkout so I have tried with and without it. After reading through…
  • I'm usually at the gym at 9 am but I prefer to work out in the mornings and that's when I'm kid free. lol. I do try to mix it up every once in a while though and work out at different times of the day so that my body doesn't just stay used to doing it at one specific time.
  • I love side split squats. I have never seen anyone do them in person and whenever I do them people stop and look at me like I'm a weirdo. lol.
  • If you sync it to work with MFP it will only show your steps. If you want to actually see the details of your jogs and such, you will need to look on the Fitbit app.
  • I like to roast my frozen veggies in a drizzle of olive oil and whatever spices I'm feeling that day. If it's canned (lets just say green beans), you can cook some diced chicken, drain the green beans and then add them to the pan with the chicken and spice it up.
  • If you lose 2 pounds a week then you could be down 40 lbs in about 5 months but that is saying that you lose a consistent 2 lbs per week. You may not lose a consistent amount of weight per week and most people plateau at some point so it is hard to say. You can lose some of the lady figure. Most people gain fat around…
  • I believe in doing something every day. I lift 6 days a week and on my "rest" day I add an extra mile to my walk. As someone that suffers from severe major depression, I've found that it really helps with my mental stability. If I don't do anything but just stay lazy even one day, I go into a mental funk that makes it…
  • I amrap at 80% of what my peak weight was the first exercise each routine (deadlifts incl. snatch grip, front and back squats, overhead press and flat bench depending on the day). Those exercises I do 5 reps of 3 of my max weight but then amrap (as many reps as possible) of 80% that weight. I've found that it helps me keep…
  • I have heart problems (svt and my resting rate is very high). and struggled doing any cardio but started weight lifting. It's helped me lean out even though my actual weight isn't changing and I'm finding that my heart doesn't bother me as much. Weight lifting might be a good thing for your relative. Doesn't have to be…
  • I was thinking the same thing. When I played I couldn't have long nails.
  • Bodybuilding.com has a lot of info and videos on how to properly do the exercises. You can even put in what your goal is along with your stats and it'll show you routines that would suit you along with meal plans.
  • The more stressed I am, the more I need the gym. If I don't get to the gym I get cranky even in a good day. Lol. If I seem irritable my son will ask me if I didn't get to lift. Lol!
  • I didn't get to completely rehab it unfortunately. We had icy weather and my rehab place was on the other side of town so I didn't feel safe to drive. By the time the weather was passed I was back at work so between college and work there wasn't any time.
  • I plan on starting on Sunday.
  • My husband and I already started letting him workout with us with bodyweight and light weights. We are having him focus on using proper form right now even if he thinks he can go heavier on weights. We don't want him to go heavier until he can keep his form in check without us having to keep correcting him.
  • Get her the book Lift to get lean by Holly Perkins. I was on the fence to start lifting and my husband bought me it. She explains why lifting isn't just for men and doesn't mean that you'll get all big like a man. Also talks about changes to make in your diet and explains proper use of the machines. Plus it also has…
  • Are you eating healthy? It's really easy to go over that amount of calories if you slip and eat junk food at all. If you're eating healthy and still feeling hungry then I would try to lose less a week.
  • I'm curious about this too since I'm hoping to go in for surgery in November to correct some tearing I had after my panniculectomy and won't be able to work out for about 6-8 weeks.
  • I did speak with his paediatrician and he said we are good to go as long as my son sticks with body weight or lower weights at high reps. I'm going to find him a good routine to get him in that'll mix weights and cardio. Thanks everyone!
  • Being 11 years old we figured we would start him on body weight for somethings and very light weights on others (as long as we are given the Doc's ok), that way he can learn proper form and not hurt himself. Of course at his age I wouldn't want him even attempting to do anything heavy, but I think we all know that if you…
  • Baked chicken and veggies
  • I haven't tried the Asda meat free products but do eat Quorn ones from time to time and find that they do make me feel bloated and gassy at times. I didn't know before that Asda had anything like that so I'm going to give it a try. Is it cheaper than Quorn?
  • My fitness pal recommends for me to eat 1230 calories a day even with me being active. If I put the very active it'll allow me a few hundred more but since I only lift weights and walk but don't do cardio, I don't think I am very active. I've found that if I make the right choices in my meals I can still get full and not…
  • I said no to a Smores poptart and ate my egg whites and oatmeal instead. While my egg whites and oatmeal don't give me the "omg yum" feeling, it also doesn't leave me feeling guilty and hating myself. lol.
  • I'd give her the smile and nod and be happy that she's doing something to better herself. I know what it's like to be that big, flabby person in gym and was really self conscious. I'd let my fear of other people's thoughts get the best of me and given up too but this last time I started up again and went it was good to…
  • Not sure if they have it in the states but in the UK there's Quorn products like ground beef, sausage and other meat substitutes to still make your recipes that call for meat but without eating meat. They're tasty. I only eat chicken and fish to help me fit my needs for lifting but don't eat red meat. I found it too…
  • That's exactly how I feel! Even worse on the weekends because my husband and I will lift together.
  • That's good to know regarding your weight being above 140 but it being low in body fat. One thing I'm trying to change is my mindset. I have spent so long stuck on the number the scale says that it is difficult to look past it at times though I feel amazing, am told a lot how I look like I've lost weight and have dropped…
  • I did change it in mfp however it only raised my caloric limits by 30.
