Hello! I'm Maggie. I'm not really active on the subs, but I am a daily user and I will like/comment on your achievements. If that sounds like the kind of friend for you, send me a request. :)

What about combining cardio and weight lighting - in a P90x or Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred kind of way? You'll get the effects of both in less time per day. I can't remember how long the videos are, but I had good body fat losses from 30 Day Shred years ago. I now work out with a trainer, and we do a lot of circuit…

My Aria is inconsistent. In the afternoons, when I'm the most hydrated, my body fat could be up to 2.5% lower than it was that same morning. I use the back up tape measure method from the Navy (I think). If you google body fat and Navy, the formula comes up. I use my Aria every day, but I do the tape measure calculations…

Are you a woman? It may be hormonal. Go to the doctor and get your hormones and thyroid tested.

I'm sorry for what you are going through! Divorce is awful!!! I used my divorce (2009) as an excuse to get in good shape. It helped that I was eager to date again! As for emotional eating, I struggle with that every day. I was reading an article the other day that talked about the broccoli test. Every time you eat, ask…

1500 calories is below your BMR. If you severely restricted the last time you lost weight as well, you may have damaged your metabolism. Up your calories. Plan on going slow. Lift weights and build muscle. Get enough protein. Read this:…

I'm up, but I just got back from a cruise, so I did a little extra eating. ;) I am really excited that I finally found my fitbit that I lost 2 weeks ago. I've had zero motivation without it.

Me too! I'm kind of glad the holidays are over!!!

I gained back 0.4. I've been sick though, so I think that's the reason. I'm hoping next week's weigh in will have me going in the right direction again.

I binge eat too. I read this the other day and found it helpful: http://www.niashanks.com/20-tips-binge-eating/

I do more snacking during the day than actual meals. My go to snacks are greek yogurt, avocado, eggs, nuts, string cheese, cheddar cheese, protein bars and protein shakes. Dinners are meat and veggies. (I have to eat lower carb, jsyk) :)

I completely recovered from my week long binge, losing the weight I gained from it, plus some!!! My technical weight loss is 3 lbs this week, but that includes the weight I had to re-lose from the binge (probably water). I'm still hoping to lose another 1.3 lbs before my birthday on the 26th! Even better, I was diagnosed 4…

I'm up 1.4. Not too bad considering the binge days. :#

Have you considered an endometrial ablation? I had never heard of it until my periods went crazy and a friend told me about it. My cycles got so bad (they never figured out why) that they were lasting for weeks and were so heavy I couldn't be away from a bathroom for more than an hour. They had also become extremely…

Some people eat back half of their exercise calories. I don't. I'm looking for some stability in my eating, so I don't want one day of low calories and then another (high exercise day) with a huge calorie amount to eat. I manually set my goal to 1300 and always shoot to be between 1100 and 1300. I know I burn about 1850…

I've struggled with this because my husband is the same. There was a thread on this on reddit/keto and lots of people are in this situation and looking for solutions. You may want to check that out. It's my opinion that you are doing him a disservice by serving both. Fats are high calorie, to serve carbs too...no wonder…

I do believe in CICO and still track my calories, BUT, there are other factors that affect results. Amount of sleep, hormones, thyroid, stress, water retention, etc. all play a role. I've lived this. I know what it's like to be eating the recommended calories and still not be losing and having everyone (especially on the…

What is the Insulin Resistance Diet? Does it just mean going keto?

It's just me and the hubs this year and he isn't low carb. I think we've worked out a pretty decent compromise. We're making a turkey, no issues there. Instead of mashed potatoes, I'm doing spaghetti squash. No gravy. I can my own cranberry sauce and I'll serve that, but just for him. I did buy a box of stove top stuffing,…

I weighed in and recorded today. I actually started last week though and lost 6 pounds my first week, so only 9 to go. Most of the weight I lost was probably water (from going lower carb for my prediabetic diet), but I'm still really excited!!! I just hope I don't get discouraged when the weight loss slows way down from…

I had to work my way up into the magnesium - increasing by stages to keep the tummy issues at bay. I take 500 a day now and I'm fine. I do still get leg cramps on occasion though, but I've found that for me, it's mostly dehydration. Just a thought, but maybe make sure you are getting enough water?

Fantastic! Deleting Facebook is a great idea! I waste way too much time on there.

We go on a cruise every February with some of our best friends. My reward will be feeling good about myself on the trip and not hating every picture taken of me!!!

I was reading that jump rope is one of the best, highest calorie burning exercise that you can do! No gym needed! o:)

but time to recover if we do slack! ;)

I like the idea of Wednesday weigh ins. Are we starting next week on the 25th? :)

For me... I'd like to lose weight (obviously) I'd like to weight lift 3 times each week I'd like to work to increase my daily steps (via Fitbit) I'd like to drastically decrease white carbs and sugar (just got a pre-diabetes warning from doctor) I'd like to decrease my body fat percentage and my measurements. Mostly, I…

Define exercise. You can run in place for 5 minutes at a time here and there. Each "session" adds about 1000 steps. It doesn't burn as many calories as real running, but it still counts. I do it as the "price" for watching television - 5 minutes of running per 30 minutes of watching tv.

Awesome! Thanks! :)
