I don't have PCOS, but I do have some hormonal issues that have effected my weight. I'd make a check in with your doctor and see what he/she says and go from there.

I've gained before from medicines. None of the prescribing doctors would admit that it was the medication, but as soon as they were out of my system, I would start dropping weight like crazy.

Works for me too. :blushing:

You'll do great! :flowerforyou:

I probably won't say this right, but I try to limit grain carbs. Here's why - if I eat a meal with a lean meat, grain carb and veggie, it will almost always be more calories than the same lean meat and 2 veggies. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies. It works for me.

I'm not an expert, but I put sedentary down. Then I can eat back some of my exercise calories, if I want to.

When I'm healthy and in a good place emotionally, I notice that I don't really think about food at all, even though I LOVE it. When I'm in a funk, food is all I think about - what I can have, what I shouldn't have, why can't I eat more, when is my next meal, what recipe should I try... I really want to get to a permanent…

I weigh every day (because I'm obsessive like that) but I only record once a week.

I don't know that much about thyroid issues. I do have a friend who had hers removed. I remember that she changed doctors because one would not adjust her medication if she was in the right "range." She found a new doctor that would adjust the medications until she got to the number that best suited her, individually. Does…

I would get a pedometer and start shooting for 10,000 steps a day. As for eating, 1200 calories is hard. If it were me, I'd try to recreate what my normal food day looked like BEFORE you started your journey. Get an average of what you were eating (calorie count) and then subtract 500 calories to begin with. For every 10…

At 8 pounds lost, I noticed that my jeans - which had been too tight - were fitting right and not skin tight anymore.

The human body is complex and there isn't a one size fits all approach.

182 - 154 = 28 Lbs. (not 42) Just pointing it out. Good luck!

Do you have access to a swimming pool? Swimming is great exercise and very easy on the joints.

great!

Maybe you could add some high calorie stuff to your existing meals, like put peanut or almond butter on that toast, add fruit to the cottage cheese and put some butter on that potato.

I had this problem with the shot. My doctor swore I didn't gain weight from it, but after every shot *BAM* five pounds gained (total 25). I stopped all hormonal birth control after that. Lucky my hubby has had a vasectomy. I think there is another thread about Mirena going on in a different board. :flowerforyou:

If I have to stop for a meal while I'm out, I swing by a grocery store. Most have cut up fruit and veggies perfect for snacking on. Heck, our local Publix has sushi!

I'm following you! I started one day after you. :)

Lol! Caboose Cutters. I love it!

May I join? My name is Maggie and I'm 34 years old and live in the panhandle of Florida. I have about 30 pounds left to lose. I love to encourage people. I exercise several times a week and I try to make good food choices. I've been gaining and losing the same five pounds for a while now. Seems like I just can't break…

That's interesting! I need to check into this. Thanks!

Thank you for saying that. I took my post down because I can't handle people being mean about it right now. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has dealt with this. :flowerforyou:

Never mind. Deleting this post. Good luck!

Irritable Bowel? It makes me bloat up and I have abdominal pain. Could that be it?

I went back to my doctor and complained about the weight gain. He swears that it isn't the medication. He says I'm too stressed out - high Cortisol levels. To him, that explains why most of the weight gain is in my stomach. I told him how depressed I'd become with the weight gain. He changed me to Pamelor (?) which is…

My natural color is strawberry blonde, but I dye the red out. I hate my red and dye it out, while my sister adds red to her hair (her natural color is brown). I guess to each his own. *meh*

Thank you so much! This is great information! If I sleep tonight (I took the pill at 9:45), I may take tomorrow's closer to 11/12. I've been hungry since I started and was feeling like it wasn't going to work for me. It's good to know the appetite suppressant may not kick in for a week or so. Thanks a bunch! :flowerforyou:
