I totally agree. UK, is getting worse :( As a foreign national living in UK, I wonder where we are heading, except down the road to destruction. There's a lot of discrimination, which only divides us. It was different in the 80's, but now everywhere is the same as everyone is feeling the economic decline. Blaming certain…

Welcome to the world of fit women. I have fashioned the Twiggy look, all my life, due to swimming, dancing, and keeping a full time job for three years that involved a lot of chest and upper arm strenght. I know Pilates is popular with dancers, and is excellent for toning all your muscle groups. Best of luck.

Lost this thread. Will report back tomorrow.

To buttox :drinker:

Don't you have to be fairly fit to do Pilates?

Protein rich diets are no doubt going to put your liver under a lot of strain. If you have any questions just Google it. A couple of years ago, I was in a similar situation, and my gp was ready with the prescription. I panicked, and within a couple of months with some serious dietry changes my cholesterol showed up normal.…

I have been waiting patiently for my last bloodtest results as well. It ran out yesterday, and I made an appointment for Thursday. I need to find the yellow post it note the gp scribled on Jan 2011, to compare results. If I don't understand then I won't know what I can do to rectify things, for instance. I get the gp to…

Thank you Heather. It's nice to be appreciated. Come next month, when the weather gets colder our work is more important than ever :)

Thank you for your input. I am only guessing, as I know what it was like in Europe, for instance. The overall picture have obviously changed due to economic factors in recent years. I did some research into people who work nights for instance and the overall effects it can have. I was thinking about doing nights, as jobs…

Jokeing aside. I generally avoid sitting in those comfy low to the ground sofas, when out as I turn into a concertina. A few more pounds/kilo would definately do the trick. And with time my posture will improve, and as long as I carry on strengthening my tummy muscles with crunches every day, I can with time let go of the…

Lol. I drove without a map. We sure never got as far as the village. It would make a good set for a sci fi movie or something lol

I don't remember exactly but we where on our way to another city, but when we approached Palm Spring with all the windmill in the desert, my flatmate freaked out, so I had to drive back to Anaheim. Didn't like the isolation apparently...so that was it really.

I would also like to add that MFP is a tool to help people to improve their health and general well being and all forums should be in support of a common goal. I am aware from reading this thread that some MFP members are interested in insulting those very people whom MFP support.

Yes, I have been told that LA is not the best place. I think we chose it because of Chicago Bulls/LA Lakers at the time, and Jordan was big back then. With regards to the domestic housewife, I believe America was at the forefront with kitchen gadgets for the American housewife long time before Europe could even afford any…

I totally agree. It was my flat mate's idea at the time. I did get to visit Mexico for a day which was the highlight of the holiday, but I refused to drink the worm in the tequila shot glass lol.

Interesting thread, btw. I generally get freaked out by mirrors in public places, and have been known to jump with fright, at the site of myself...I like cameras, and CCTV. I also like reflections in shop windows...and I try not to look vain, when I walk past to get a look of my handsome walk *cough*

I don't expect you to 'get it' from an American viewpoint.

I did visit L.A. in the 90's and was totally shocked and overwhelmed at the attitude regarding size. Super size this and the other. I spent an hour at the car rental plaze to try and explain I was not comfortable driving anything bigger than a small four door saloon car (UK size 1.6L). I had plans to do a lot of driving,…

It's been over 50 days since I joined MFP. No progress as such, except I eat oats every morning with soya alternative. Milk drives me to sleep, so I have a glass with cocoa powder at bed time. I eat a lot healthier, have cut out all processed foods, except for vegetable grills and spicy beanburgers. Since, joining MFP my…

Thanks, but there's no such thing as turkey flavoured tofu where I live. Only quorn mince and tofu pieces. I only eat quorn mince in emergencies, for when I am to ill to cook from fresh. Also, I eat turkey once a year, so as not to offend anyone in family. Sigh

Oh dear, the world of processed food, sure rule in the US. I'd rather eat cardboard, sorry.
-
I ate something that resembled cardboard mixed in with vegetables, (a processed vegetable grill). And two small baked potatoes with two tbsp of coleslaw. I am having avocado tomorrow...can't wait.

In United Kingdom this topic is discriminating to the highest degree. End off.

My local chemist are always selling a reduced slim fast item. They remind me of the liquid food my grandmother refused to drink, the week before she died. Gross!

Get a medical, and get the all clear from your gp before you diet. Best of luck!

Soya milk is a good source of calcium.
