Yep. You can tell how stressed I am by how much I weigh. Started school pretty skinny. Started being bullied - gained until I was 65kg at 10 years old. Moved. Found a school I loved - lost weight. Moved again. 8 times. In 2 years - gained weight Found a group of friends I loved and who loved me - lost weight. Diagnosed…

Hi guys, I'm CJ. I'm a full time maths teacher and care for both my disabled parents outside of that. I actually got down to 115kgs (about 255lbs) 3 years ago, but my health quickly took a backseat (a far, far backseat) to my parents health issues when I became their permanent carer in January of 2016. Dad had just had…

I've found that since I reduced my sugar intake to <24g/day, I don't have to eat as much to feel full. I still eat starchy carbs, but not as many, and I've found that I register being full earlier. Also, thin soup like the La Zuppa pouches help me out heaps for the 'mid morning munchies'. One pouch is 26 cal and it makes…

Thanks, guys. I'm in a situation where, for most of my life, my favourite food has been "whatever is cheapest so I can pay my rent as well". Now that I'm better situated, I'm experimenting with different flavours and textures from different cultures, which I find makes me want to 1) eat [I'm a shocker for forgetting to eat…

Sorry to those who accepted my friend request this week and saw that I had no points. I took it off because I've been sick (still am, but to a lesser extent). Hoping to be at the point of actually going out and doing stuff in the next few days.

Thanks, guys. I called a friend this arvo and let her self righteous fury validate that it was ok to not be ok for a while. Unfortunately, my own self regulation is really screwy due to the emotional abuse and manipulation I went through when I was younger - I rarely feel like it's ok to trust my own reactions and emotions…

Feel free to add me too (I'm new here) - coolchick207 =)

Berries are my go to, as to a rule =)

I'm so desperate to stop feeling so awful about myself, my health and my weight that I've started seeing a naturopath. As someone who prides herself on evidence based practice, this feels like a betrayal to my beliefs, but I also feel like it's going to be worth the money just to feel like I'm DOING something, even if it's…

101 American sticks of butter or 47 Australian cups of butter!

Realising that I had done 27km of dedicated exercise this week. I don't think I've ever done that, even when I was hiking regularly! Have set myself a goal to get 100km of dedicated exercise (mostly walking and swimming) done during October. =)

Absolutely, yay for you! What a great NSV!

For me the big thing is that my heart rate can't go over a certain threshold for very long because I have a congenital heart defect. I've been keeping a pretty close eye on it, but I didn't check for 3km today and then checked in at 152bpm, which is only 20bpm below my threshold. I've been keeping to between 120-140 bpm so…

Thanks, mate. Garmin doesn't seem to do one that can easily pair to the iPhone. I'm looking into the Zephyr HxM which looks pretty nice.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I have a few old breaks and arthritis that have messed me up for snow, but will definitely try to keep on top of things more this coming winter. Good luck to you northern hemispherians!

I am grateful that I live in a building with a built in gym and pool. I am grateful for my students, who pull me up when I get off track. I am grateful for my godson, who by virtue of being his kicka$$ little self, forced me into caring about myself again by showing me that ANYTHING is possible. I am grateful (so…

Hey mate, Another Aussie here. I've been using MFP pretty religiously for 8 months now, and love it. I genuinely believe that it was the friendship, support and knowledge of the massive butt kicking I'd get from my MFP mates if I really went off track that kept me from fully derailing when I got sick this winter, so I…

I feel your pain, hon. I recently got sick (swine flu/whooping cough) for what turned out to be 9 weeks. I did OK with the stress for the first 6 weeks, and then fell off the emotional cliff when I hit critical mass with my exhaustion and ate everything. Like, everything. I've never been a takeout fiend, but I ended up…

Thanks heaps for the response! Hoping your lungs (and mine!) get to the optimum they are capable of soon x

No one with any experiences at all?

I deal with people who make comments like that by saying "I don't judge your lifestyle, pay me the same courtesy. Everything I do, I do for a reason." That said, I'm a high school teacher and the kids are often the ones commenting! I also have IBS, so I've cut out a lot of foods from my diet - I often get the "Just one!"…

Now this is an awesome idea!! Hufflepuff, please!! =)

When I was 19 (6 months after heart surgery that allowed me to exercise for the first time in my life without the risk of collapsing or dying), I found a really pretty dress that I wanted to buy. My uncles response was "No, that's for normal sized people. You'd look like a whale in a sausage skin". I only started wearing…

Entendre, as in 'double entendre'. I struggle so hard with it! Where is the emphasis and inflection?!

The only reason to omit dairy, in my opinion, is if you have an intolerance to either dairy itself or lactose [like I do]. If this is the case, then it can impact on your weight loss due to excessive bloating and not having your guts work properly. Otherwise, it's a really good source of a lot of really good stuff! Just…

Men and little kids, as well as women who are wearing burkas, flannelette PJ's and winter clothes that cover up nearly everything, are raped every single day so don't pull that **** with me. Repeat after me: The only people to blame for assault are the people who commit the assault. Jesus wept. Wearing clothes that are…

Thanks guys. Will be seeing my dr in the next few weeks to get a referral to a dietician. We have to be careful with any changes that we make to my lifestyle due to a heart defect that flares up during times of stress or change, but at the same time, the stress that's put on my body during flares doesn't do me any good…

OMG, hon! You look awesome and so much happier (my favourite part!)! Very inspiring!!!!

One last try and then I'm going to abandon flickr forever. Ridiculous!
