  • To me it depends WHAT is being offered to me. If my colleague offers me store-bought cookies, I'll say no because to my mind, the calories aren't worth it. Since most of my colleagues are in better shape than me, telling them I'm watching my calories usually leads to them not offering anything for a week or two ;-)…
  • Not in a big way. But then I rarely go out and when I do, I'm usually either with my boyfriend or with one or several of my male friends. And since we're all very close, we do hug and cuddle in public, so to the casual observer, it would look like I'm not single. The only time I do get hit on is at party (as in political…
  • Thanks for the advice @angelexperiment. I just had a look at excerpts from Beginner Shred on youtube and it doesn't look THAT much easier. Also, I'm seriously cheap and don't really want to purchase another DVD. Also, I tend to build up strength and endurance fairly quickly and I like a challenge. It might well take me…
  • I had 2 eggs, a slice of sharp cheese, a few cherry tomatoes, a handful of arugula and a few radishes. 339kcal.
  • I'd strongly suggest getting rid of them. I didn't last time and that made it SO easy to go back to using them when I started to gain weight. I know for sure this time I WILL kick every last item out that is too big. Which will be very sad because I have some dresses that look great both when I'm smaller and larger but…
  • I just finished my lunch. I fried a small yellow pepper and 50g of low-fat bacon in 1 teaspoon of olive oil and topped that with 2 eggs, so basically an omelette. On the side I had a big handful of mixed salad greens, a thinly sliced radish and a nice chunk of cucmber, dressed with aged balsamic vinegar.

  • I love so many of these tats! I can't wait to get my first. I've found an artist I like and I'll be meetin her later this month to talk about the design but I want to wait until April or so, so I can lose a little weight before I get inked.
  • I started 30DS today. I only managed to get halfway through and then had to take a break. I did finish it but couldn't finish all the exercises. Still better than not working out, I guess. Feel free to add me ;-)
  • Herbs and spices, vinegar, diet drinks, tea. I don't drink coffee at work every day but if I do, I have no way of measuring the milk that goes into it. I hate black coffee but I think that if the milk that goes into ONE cup of coffee is the only thing unlogged and I'm well within deficit, it really doesn't matter.
  • I'm 5'6'' and I'm at ca 210lbs now and I'm aiming for 165lbs. I'm pretty large framed with fairly wide shoulders, hips and ribcage. I'd still count as overweight but I think I'd be fine with that weight. If I'm not, I can still lose more.
  • Relationships have played a big role in my weight issues. My first boyfriend and I met when we were both roughly a healthy weight but we both enjoyed cooking and going out and so we both gained weight until we both decided we weren't happy with this lifestyle anymore. So we went on a diet together and lost weight. Both…
  • Hi, loveing the look for your recipes! Can't offer anything in return today because I overindulged so much yesterday I only had some fruit today. But most of the time, I do cook reasonably nice and healthy things, so feel free to add me!
  • When green asparagus is in season, I take 500g of it, slice it up and fry it in a little bit of olive oil. While it's browning a little, I mix 250g of low-fat Quark with garlic, hot sauce and ginger. And if there's still calories left, I add smoked salmon or thinly sliced ham.
  • I know nothing of the cheese you've mentioned but folks - just because a cheese is low-fat, it doesn't mean it's a fake or not a real cheese. I'm very partial to a very traditional German cheese called "Harzer Roller". It's a sour milk cheese with a very strong smell. It has between 1 and 3%fat and up to 30% protein. YOu…
  • Full-fat yogurt and a banana. Saving calories up for dinner.
  • I would let my hypothetical daughter play with my make up but I wouldn't encourage it. And unless it was Fasching (German festival where you dress up), I would not accept make up outside the house. Neither would I accept high heels. Not because of pedos or anything but because some things are for adults and some are for…
  • Once I was changing weights and I was also sort-of checking out a very good-looking guy (NOT staring, honestly!) and I stood up and hit my head on the machine. And a few times when I went to the gym without breakfast, I was close to fainting and had to hold on to something for a minute after my cardio.
  • There is no reason you should eat eggs or oatmeal. There's no reason you have to eat any breakfast at all. I usually have some fruit or yogurt. You can have cereal (make sure it's not too high in sugar), you can have a sandwich, you can have bacon on its own. Just make it fit into your calorie allowance.
  • I lived in Wales for 6 months and lost a fair bit of weight. But that was due to the fact that I was stuck in the middle of nowhere without a car and had to rely on my boss to give me a lift to the shops once a week. Since she was dieting at that time, we agreed to police what went into our shopping carts. If I ran out of…
  • What were your tempations? Has anything been going in? I sometimes eat more than I should or eat unhealthy things in too large amounts when I'm stressed out or unhappy. Do you need somebody to talk to? Either way: don't worry, as long as you don't just stop caring, you'll get back into it. I've been having bad days…
  • With each of my boyfriends I had very good reasons to be with them. So even when things went wrong, I did still like them. With the last partner... well. Thinks went pretty bad and I tried to keep in touch but it wasn't good for my emotional stability so I cut him out of my life completely. But yeah, I miss him. I loved…
  • Hi Sian and Jon, I'm Bea, living in beautiful Bavaria. I've never been into exercising but I'm making myself go to the gym, doing both cardio and machine weights. I' love to join a zombie run one day. I'm just trying to get into a healthy BMI range which will be reached in roughly 20kg. Going from 96kg to 70 is going to…
  • I adore it. It's so rare to get a female-centred show. She kicks so much *kitten* and with so much style.
  • Don't eat too little. It's as easy as that. I eat around 1200kcal and many people tell me it's too little and I guess they have a point, so I'm just not strict about it and eat anywhere between 1200 can 1500kcal. Sometimes when I've had big meals one day and at like twice of my allowance, I'm just NOT hungry the next day.…
  • You CAN lose weight on a diet that consists of bread, cheese etc. Log it and make sure you're under calories.
  • I can relate to that. For me it was stress, frustration and loneliness and being unhappy. In my last relationship I often ate small portions during family meals because he always said he "only eats one meal and 2 snacks a day" and I knew he generally preferred slim women. I also felt left alone a lot, so I made stacks of…
  • Cereals tend to be pretty sugary. They're delicious but depending on how much you can eat, maybe better eat them as a treat. You could use oatmeal and add some fresh fruit if you want to stick with cereal. You could also eat eggs or bread. I tend to eat fruit for breakfast because I like fruit and it leaves more calories…
  • I tend to have a lot of frozen veggies at hand, especially spinach and peas. I'm not eating massive amounts of carbs but it's a good idea to have some brown pasta and rice and oatmeal. My weekly shopping list also includes low-fat sausages, chicken breast, canned tuna and shrimp. Tinned tomatoes are helpful for soups.…
  • I halve it and scoop out the seeds. Then I fry some onion with some mushrooms and mix that with some cooked couscous or rice or even minced meat. I tend to season with chili flakes and coriander and cumin. Then I put the filling into the little cavity and roast the halves until the squash is cooked through. It's nice with…
  • No, you don't. If you seriously hate doing something, then you won't keep it up anyway. Yes, you'd burn more calories if you ran but once you stop running because you hate it, you'll stop burning. If you keep walking, you'll keep burning, even though it won't be as much.
