  • I just had lunch that was a little over 300kcal but easy to make just a little less of it. I used one pack of shirataki noodles, drained and rinsed them well. Put 200g of frozen prawns and 300g of frozen green beans in a pan with some ginger. When it was thawed by the heat, added the noodles and seasoned with Sriracha and…
  • @DaniMerc72 I wish they sold these where I live. And man, would I LOVE to try Halo Top or whatever it's called...
  • I lost 1.5lbs - to be fair, I was still eating chocolate reserves lol. Nothing left in the house now though.
  • @kpresto86 Being overweight is not a character flaw. There's zero need to feel shy or stupid or bad about being a certain weight. @lbryony76 I only weighed this little after a fairly unhealthy crash diet after being an overweight child and teenager. Looking at photos from back then, I remember thinking I was still gross…
  • Jan, that sounds absolutely delicious. I didn't do terribly well today because of poor planning. I had a banana and a pear for breakfast. I was meant to have yogurt for lunch because I didn't have time to prepare anything the night before but was hungry and cold at lunchtime, so had tortellini with tomato sauce at the…
  • I'm also getting rid of all the sweets, chips etc. My snacking just got completely out of hand recently.
  • I weighed in at 242 on the 1st of January. 100lbs weight loss would put me at the weight I last had when I was 16. I don't know if there's any way I'd be able to maintain that weight and still enjoy life. I'll aim for it but if I realize I'm happy at 165 or 175, I'll just stop. First step though: get to Onederland ;-)
  • Often it helps me to pre-log something sweet in the evening to make sure I still have calories left. I used to buy little pudding snack packs (Alpro Dark Chocolate), I don't know if they're available in the US. They weren't terribly high in calories and rather satisfying.
  • Since I failed to lose weight for my own wedding, here's my new and VERY petty reason why this time it will work: my best friend is getting married. She's my ex-boyfriend's daughter. (Yes, big age difference, whatevs). He was really unpleasant about my weight and made me feel terribly insecure. By the time she gets…
  • I'd prefer to stay on here - you can open a group on MFP, then nobody will have to open an account elsewhere or share real-life name etc.
  • Have you already opened a group?
  • I'd love to join, too. 100 would put me at my lowest wage since age 16. I'd happily take a 70 or 80 pound loss, too.
  • No way. Even when I was slim(ish) I wasn't keen on heat. At current weight anything beyond 25°C is horrible. Buuuut if summer waits until... you know... summer, I might not feel as uncomfortable in the heat as I would now.
  • It's the SO's birthday but we're both dieting for our wedding - so it's a nice rumpsteak with green beans fried with bacon.
  • I DO count calories but I am also working hard on making healthy choices for my main meals. I have sweets every day but my main meals are mostly fresh vegetables, meat, fish, lentils, eggs and chickpeas.
  • I like them. I cook stir-fry once a week or so and I put in chicken and loads of veg but I like to add noodles for bulk. The first time I ate them I guess I didn't chew properly and I felt horrible afterwards but since then I've cooked with them a lot of times and it had no ill effects.
  • Having a second portion is something I love to do and it is NO problem whatsoever. I usually cook for two and I portion out the food onto plates. We eat what's on the plate and then I portion out the rest. The point is: I only make the amount I'm actually "allowed" to eat. Then it doesn't matter if I have it all in one go…
  • HERE! ME! Pick me! Getting married in late October, so have some time. Hoping to lose at least 25kg. Started 20 days ok, have lost 4 so far.
  • This is really interesting because I'm trying to avoid bread because it just doesn't keep me full. Give me toast for breakfast (yes, wholemeal) and I'm starving 2h later. But I can eat a banana for breakfast and not need anything else for lunch. So on "good" days my meals are mostly centred around loads and loads of…
  • Do you have a microwave at school. I'm a teacher so I can use one in the staffroom. In winter I usually bring veg soups or oven-baked veg with me. In summer I mostly bring salads with egg or ham or beans... I wouldn't really recommend cutting carbs too much. I find that when I have salad and meat and don't add "sweet" veg…
  • I think it really depends on the situation, the way of voicing one's opinion and also on the amount of weight. My first boyfriend met me when I had just lost a lot of weight and we both gained and lost weight in our relationship. We were honest with each other that we were more attracted to each other at lower weights but…
  • Today: Breakfast - a banana and a slice of cream cake (unplanned but rather delicious) Lunch - Lettuce, green beans, cucumber and kohlrabi salad with prawns Dinner - Carrot soup with peppers and onions That leaves me 2 fruit/veg short, so I guess I'll have an apple for dessert and maybe throw some peas into the soup as…
  • I'm lucky because vegetables are very cheap where I live but sometimes when money is short, I rely heavily on tinned tomato, frozen spinach and peas and loads of carrots and cabbage. Are even these vegetables so very expensive in the states?
  • Today I'm being "bad". Fruit overload: apple, banana, mango, raspberry and sour cherries. Dinner will be homemade kebab with lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and peppers.
  • I am a snacker but I'm trying not to be because if I snack, I overeat. I tend to lose weight better when I eat 3 meals and only snack if I REALLY REALLY need to.
  • Hmmm. I decided to treat myself and have sweet potato, brokkoli and onion with my salmon. I also realised that the amount of peppers I had in my salad in no way is enough to count, so that means I get dessert. Bought a pear.
  • Yesterday worked pretty well. I had a banana for breakfast and an apple during break. Helped myself to lettuce, tomato, cucumber, peppers and shredded cabbage from the salad bar. Dinner was glass noodles with mince, bok choi, peas, peppers and carrots. Today again banana and apple in the morning. Again salad bar for lunch…
  • I don't think this would be significantly easier in summer since I'm trying to only have 2-3 servings of fruit. Sure, in summer I could swap bananas and apples for peaches and berries and melon. The vegetables don't change that much though. In winter I do try to eat more carrots, parsnips, cabbage etc because I don't want…
  • I hope none of you mind me taking part here even if I'm massively late. It's my second day of challenging myself to eating 10 a day / 800g. So far it's not been too difficult. Today I had an apple and a satsuma for breakfast (I'll eat another one for dessert later because they're tiny). Then muesli with milk and a banana…
