I don't pray since I'm agnostic, but I'm definitely wishing you all the best!

Switching from using measuring cups/spoons to using a food scale didn't speed up or slow down my weight loss at all BUT before I started using the scale I already knew that people had a tendency to use heaping cups and spoons full so I was very careful to slightly underfill when I was measuring. That being said, I DO think…

I've never had ANY desire to try SPAM, but seeing it made into sushi (my favorite food) almost makes me want to try it!

Everything everyone else has said is right on....that being said I ate an arugula salad tonight while everyone else got to enjoy pasta because I just HAD to have my "splurge meal" on Wednesday! :disappointed:

+1 And my life just got a bit easier! :)

Seeing a picture of myself standing next to a girl who I thought was about the same size as I am and realizing I am actually quite a bit smaller than she is!

ice cream :)

Seeing a group picture I was in and briefly thinking I was someone else in the group who is apparently larger than I am!

Buying smaller wine glasses (5 ounces) has helped me to limit my wine consumption up to a point. Like the other posters said, if you REALLY like wine then you'll give up some other treat to make it work!

Yes to not thinking "bad" foods taste as good as they used to. I wouldn't say I feel "bad" after eating them, but I do often feel hungry again not so long after eating them since the portion is usually so much smaller than the portion of lean protein and veggies I would have made for myself at home.

Don't mean to disappoint anyone, but this is very much the TRUTH:

@jesikalovesyou ----This is the polar opposite my approach to weighing myself, which thus far has been to not own a scale and weigh myself only when I am at a doctor's office. Oddly, I see a certain logic to your ideas about weighing yourself even though they're so very different than my own. I am getting very close to…

The Wikipedia article you posted also says THIS: A long-term PSMF diet undertaken carelessly and without the care of a physician may lead to serious health risks.

^^^^THIS!!^^^^ I was already counting calories and sort of unintentionally started following a low carb diet because I decided to start eating a high protein diet so I don't have many calories left to "spend" on carbs.

I got a LOT of negative feedback from my now ex-husband when I started losing the weight. One of several reasons that he is now my EX-husband!

I'm sure this was well-intentioned advice, musicandarts, but the OP, Debbie, is a 59 year old female, so unless she's very active 1200 calories is probably plenty for her. As for recipe ideas that fit into a 1200 calorie per day eating plan, I suggest eating meals that are high in both lean protein and non-starchy…

I'm a blonde, but this is for any redheads who don't really like their hair color!

More wine! But since I'm close to my calorie limit for the day it looks like I'll be settling for a good night's sleep instead! ;)

@BlondeBeauty5 -- I've never had an iron deficiency, but my dad did when I was growing up. One of the things that was recommended to him was to cook as much of his food as possible in a cast iron skillet since the food would actually absorb some of the iron from the skillet during the cooking process. No clue if this…

A glass of beer does have fewer calories than a glass of wine. But if one is drinking to get a buzz one would have to drink a LOT more beer (and a lot more calories!) to get the same effect! :)
-
I always thought I didn't like beer but was recently out with some friends at a place where beer was the only available alcoholic beverage. I learned that I actually DO like beer, but ONLY draft beer. My first choice will continue to be wine since I can get the same effect while consuming fewer calories, but a nice, cold…

Yum! Sushi---and yes I mean the kind made with raw fish!

The difference is AMAZING and you look great! I started out weighing more than you (366 lbs) and am now down to about 153 lbs. My weight loss has also stalled and slowed down from time to time, but the rest WILL eventually come off! :)

I've noticed the same thing with my clothing size going down even when the scale doesn't!

My favorite band of all-time is Nirvana. My favorite current band is Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band

I'm keeping my calories on the low-ish side today after being a bit indulgent (but not TOO indulgent!) yesterday! :)
-
I don't even own a scale anymore because it was too anxiety provoking for me. I just weigh myself about every 6 weeks or so at my doctor's office! :)

100% THIS!!!! :)
