  • Mine are 25% carbs, 30% protein and 45% fats. If I am lower in carbs I don't worry. It seems to work out over the course of the week.
  • Meat (hamburger, pepperoni and bacon) pizza with plenty of sauce and cheese for my sons. Pizza topping casserole (same toppings) for me.
  • I started the end of May and am currently down about 24 pounds with another 75 or so to go. I started in the kitchen, new pots:pans (mine were really old and really worn out), lots of new recipes so I wouldn't get bored (so far it's worked) and just added the gym (mainly cardio) about a month ago (after tracking and…
  • Cinnamon powder just made me burp cinnamon.
  • Did they check you vitamin D level? Low D can cause fatigue (and achy muscles and joints) also. My protein is set at 30%, carb at 25% (although I am usually less) but I have a medical reason and do count calories. Everyone is different to the bodies needs. I have had no problem with doing cardio after work (except if you…

  • First thing I did when I started this time was get a nice set of pots and pans ( the ones I had were from when I married the ex in 1987). Then I started trying all kinds of new recipes and have found set etal my sons and I love. All take less than 30 minutes. We don't eat dinner out very much at all anymore.
  • Love Kind bars! Dark chocolate sea salt and maple pecan are my current favorites. I hear there is a pumpkin one out now. Also Powerful Yogurt (21 g of protein), love the Key Lime flavor, haven't tried the drinks yet but here some of those are good.
  • Love kind bars, got to find these!
  • Tonight is grilled brats with mustard and spicy Slawsa (if you haven't tried it you are definitely missing out big time), probably served with a salad and/or baked beans.
  • My 22 and 23 yo sons live with me, talk about distractions. The oldest has the metabolism of a hummingbird and the youngest is 6-2. I keep snacks for them (mainly ones I won't eat) and they like my snacks. I am fortunate that they are supportive since I am watching carbs in addition to calories. But they eat what I do just…
  • I started the end of May and have lost just under 23 pounds which averages about 6.5 pounds a month. Not as much as a lot of my younger friends but I'll definately take it. If you average 5 pounds a month, that's 60 pounds in a year! I just added excercise in the last month and the last couple weeks I lost a total of about…
  • I keep a Kind bar in my purse and at my desk. The ones I buy have 5g of sugar and 6-10g of fiber and most of the flavors are pretty good. I like the Powerful Yogurt (Key Lime is awesome). It has 21g of protein per 8 ounces and less sugar then a lot of other Greek yogurts. I find it quite filling. Nuts and cheese are also…
  • And Gruyere, Balsamic Bellavitano.
  • Red Curry Chicken with peppers, onions, pineapple. A side of rice for those who want it.
  • Put 1 lb a week, that will give you more calories.
  • That's how I eat. It keeps me more satisfied. As long as your blood work continues to be good at the doctors there shouldn't be a problem with it.
  • Never. It's a lifestyle change not a diet. If I want something I try to make it fit.
  • The two previous posters are correct. See a registered dietician. They are a tremendous help and your insurance will probably cover it since your diabetic. I would also try to find one that works mainly with diabetics.
  • I am 57, have gone from 243 to 221 so far (since the end of May). I will get below (hopefully well below 200). I started with just getting the food and tracking my steps (I was about 2000 a day). Gradually built up the steps til I was getting at least 5-6000 then started back at the gym a couple weeks ago. Now in addition…
  • It's a fondue restaurant.
  • Tonight is pizza night! Homemade pizza for my sons, pizza topping casserole for me. All our favorite toppings, sauce and plenty of cheese.
  • Chicken Dijonaise with toasted French bread.
  • I am in NC and eat lunch out quite frequently. I cook more at dinner than when I first started but we still eat out some.
  • Beef stir fry with broccoli, onions and peppers. Seasoned with low sodium soy sauce and Thai Chili Garlic sauce. Over rice for those who wanted it.
  • Caramelized Onion and Bacon Smothered Pork Chops with baked beans.
  • Avoid low fat, diet foods. Add healthy oils. Full fat cheese, nuts, nut butters.

  • I started toward the end of May and weighed 243.8, currently am 222.4. I am hoping to see onederland by Christmas or shortly after. If so it would be the first time in more than 25 years. My goal weight is actually less than I weighed in high school so this would be a great start.

  • It is an extremely low carb (typically less than 20g per day) which puts you into ketosis. Some people can accomplish the same with less than 50g of carbs per day. You do a moderate amount of protein and high fats.
  • It's on my blog here with a couple other really good recipes. Myfitnesspal.com/blog/tryett
