I have pcos and am watching my calories and my carb intake. For some reason only that combination works for me. I am not doing keto, but try to limit my carb intake to between 50-100 carbs per day. I started with macros that were suggested by a dietician and she said to adjust them until I found a combination that kept me…

I am watching my carbs and calories. I have pcos and am insulin resistant. I have been trying lots of new recipes and have an open diary.

A good set of pans ( I was still using what was left from when I married my ex in 1987). That inspired me to try lots of new recipes which have made it easier to stay on track. Second I just got a Ninja system with the blender and food processor so it has lots of versatility.

I was trying to up the number of steps that I take daily and when I found out you had to walk with this, I downloaded it. But not for me, mainly to get my 22 year old up from the computer and moving. He and his slightly older brother have started playing also. I figure as long as I stay a level or two above them, they will…

There are conditions other than diabetes that low carb diets benefit. I am not diabetic but also have a strong family history of it. I have pcos and am insulin resistant with a very stubborn history of low vitamin d. I have no problems with energy at all on low carb, in fact feel much better on it, even my sleep patterns…

Both my sons are now playing it (22 and 23). I find it encouraging that they are getting up from their computer and going outside (although the oldest has a very active job). Plus it is something we can do together. They went to one of the "gyms" last night that I had found and it was encouraging to see a lot of people out…

Of course leftover steak works really well cut up into salad, I like mine with bleu cheese crumbles, accents the flavor or the steak nicely. For snacks I try to get some fat and protein, cheeses, hummus and bell peppers, Kind bars.

Also pecans work really well with apples in salad, again with chicken. I always have either chicken or turkey (just the sliced kind from the deli) in my salad. Bacon goes well with the turkey also.

In my salad I crumble about two to three pieces, and I also add about 4 oz of chicken. I do not glaze my walnuts just buy the bag of walnut pieces. The walnuts make such a huge flavor difference. I had the same salad yesterday and the difference was really noticeable.

In the past week we have had Chicken Caprese, Cashew Chicken, grilled Ribeye, Beef Stir Fry, Beef Fajitas, tonight we had pizza (the sons had pizza, I had pizza topping casserole), tomorrow night we are having Caramelized Onion and Bacon Smothered Pork Chops and Friday night we will have sub sandwiches (our grocery store…

Right now I am looking at a table with two Danish rings, a bag of Kit Kats, two multipacks of cookies, Hershey bars, Reese's peanut but cups, and two bags of snickers bars. On that dames snack table are two kinds of biscotti (110 calories each), a big box of Slim Jims, a huge container of cashews and a big box of Kind…

I like Sabra's Roasted Red Pepper Hummus the best.

hummus and bell peppers, 3 tbsp. of heavy cream in diet root beer, pepperoni, Kind Bars (but those are 200 calories), nuts, full fat cheese.

I've done both. WW more than once. The old programs were better, the new one I have not heard good things about. MFP is more flexible to the individuals needs. For instance I watch my carbs, other people like lots of carbs. You can play with your macros until you find that sweet spot that works for you. That being said if…

My 22 yo son and I are playing. He wants to battle me. But my pokemon are better then his.

Heavy cream, nuts

Mine is open, I try to eat fairly low carb, 50-100g, mostly on the low end of that. I do try a lot of new recipes which I mostly put on my myfitnesspal blog if someone wants them.
-
It is a personal preference. MFP will suggest macros, I would suggest you track what you eat and see what the makeup is. Adjust the macros until you find ones that keep you full. Make sure you get enough protein and fats.

I have pcos and am not on any meds, never have been except for the fertility drugs to get pregnant over 20 years ago.
-
Leans meats, but definately full fat dairy. Heavy cream and butter are the best when cooking, nothing beats good quality cheese, bacon and sausage. I don't try to limit fats.

How old are you and how much do you weigh?
-
It is recommended that women do not go under 1200 calories a day. However that also depends on how much you have to lose. It is also recommended that you not lose more than 2 pounds per week or you could be losing lean muscle with the fat. What did the MFP calculator give you?
-
How fast you lose also depends on how much weight you have to lose. If you have 20 pounds or less it will be slower than if you have 100 or more.
-
I would recommend a registered dietician rather than a nutritionist.
-
OP, you can add butter to your list for me.
