  • There are always studies being done. Here's another study on this subject... http://www.nih.gov/researchmatters/june2013/06102013vegetarian.htm
  • I use Protein Plus peanut flour, and I eat it almost everyday. I mix it with water and eat it on a banana or apple, I use it in peanut sauce on stir fried veggies, or just straight with water and salt. Great source of protein for vegetarians!
  • We're almost neighbors! I'm in the Drake/Roosevelt area and this has been a terrible winter so far. I find myself doing jumping jacks in my living room! I can't wait until I can start walking outside again. I must be patient...
  • Hi! I'm in Des Moines. Welcome to MFP. This is a great tool and will help you to track what you eat so you can see where you're missing needed foods. For me, it was protein. It may be the increased sodium in your diet, or it could just be your body adjusting. Be patient, you'll get there. The days will seem to pass slowly,…
  • I went from 124 pounds to my current weight of 106 and no one has noticed. I'm small boned so maybe I hid the extra pounds well. So, like another poster said, I got my hair cut into a pixie style....VERY short. People noticed the new hair cut. LOL Maybe they just see my hair and that's enough of a shock that they don't…
  • I buy Protein Plus peanut flour (basically the same thing as PB2, but cheaper) and I mix it with water and eat it with apples or other fruit and veggies. I also make peanut sauce with it and put it on roasted veggies. I'm a vegetarian and it can be hard getting enough protein in my diet, so I eat a lot of peanut flour!
  • I'm a little taller than you (5'4") and I am 57 years old. On September 1, 2013 I weighed 124 pounds. I'm small boned, so extra weight really shows on me. Four months later I weigh around 108 pounds. The most important thing I've learned with MFP is that I was not eating enough protein, partially because I'm vegetarian. I…
  • Yes, I'll probably log to the best of my ability. I'm a vegetarian, so no meat, gravy, or stuffing for me. I'll eat a lot of veggies and salads. I'm not too worried. Also, I HATE pumpkin pie. :-)
  • Actually, I often shop by what's on sale and stock up. I have a full pantry! :-) Chick peas and other ingredients to make hummus (I eat a lot of hummus) eggs crackers Special K cereal almond milk/soy milk Fiber One cereal apples, bananas, other fruits in season onions, broccoli, lettuce (I have a garden, so I have a lot of…
  • My favorite tea is the green tea that Costco sells. It is actually green, too.
  • I snack on edamame...lots of protein. I'm a vegetarian and it is hard to get the required protein. :-)
