Hey Ladies! I am 25 (does that count? ), 5'7" and looking to lose about 30 pounds. I had ACL surgery about 4 months ago so I am finally getting back into almost full workouts now!

SW= 197 (2/29) CW= 194.4 (3/21) GW= 160! Not moving much. But I didn't gain!

Similar thing happened to me over the weekend. I went away for the weekend with friends, was careful about what I ate for the most part, but drank more than I usually do in a weekend (a few drinks), walked around the city for a few days, one of our dinners was at a Mexican restaurant (lots of salty deliciousness), and I…

good luck! I experienced a similar situation. Played 3 sports in D1 during high school then rowed on the crew team my freshman year in college. After that the weight snuck up on me. Way to address it early on! I am still working on it and graduated 3 years ago. Take advantage of the free gym membership!

I was asked to make a special cake for a going away party at work. One slice was around 1200 cals..... WHY!!!!

Same! It is a lot easier to shop for as well...

I feel you girl. I am a few pounds away from moving into "overweight" and I counting down! Congrats!

I go to a Spin class several times a week, and alternate with strengthening. I recently had ACL surgery, so a lot of my exercise is focused on strengthening the quads and hams and avoiding reinjury.

I don't really consider anything a cheat day. I really try to stick to my calorie and macros count and if I go over with some foods, I try to offset with more exercise (i.e. walking, extra trip to the gym, etc). There are definitely days I eat over my count, but I don't necessarily plan out that x day I will eat more than…

CW: 197 GW: 160 I lost about 1 pound this last week.

My name is Samantha. I was working on losing weight last summer and tore my ACL and a few other important bits in my knee playing field hockey. The injury, surgery and recovery have put me back to where I had started. I want to lose weight to get back in shape, continue to rehab my new ACL and get healthier! Tons of…

I actually see the opposite. I think it might have more to do with the hormonal BC I am on. I notice my weight tends to fluctuate down a few pounds during that week, then usually goes back to the previous week's weight after it is done.

Just want to throw some science in the mix here. B) So Insulin resistance, what is it? In a simplified explanation... Typically, insulin resistance reduces your cells ability to sense and process sugars properly. AKA glucose. So when the glucose enters the bloodstream, insulin is produced to essentially help the cells…

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think making a smaller test cake might be good. And I figured that minimizing the substitutions would make the most sense. Bringing a better calorie option for others is also something to think about. I will let you know how it goes Muchas Gracias

yeah, I always have to adjust the garlic in recipes... It tells me that 2-3 cloves is like 1200 cals. haha
-
yeah... That is what I thought as well. I was hoping there was some magical suggestion that would solve the issues.... Still looking for that magic bean. One day... haha

haha. This might not be a terrible idea. it would be shorter, but this is a big office, so I could play the "more slices for all of the people" card as well.

In July I blew out my knee in July, and had a similar situation. Something I found challenging was really monitoring my weight loss at all. I ended up having to have reconstructive surgery and as a result, lost a significant amount of muscle because I was forced to be pretty immobile for quite some time. I agree with those…

Girl! I am in the exact same boat as you! Tore my ACL and both meniscus end of July. Hoping to schedule a surgery for Sept. Glad to see this thread!

I have the same thing, mostly located on my underarms and thighs. So encouraging to hear.

I am about 5'6-7", looking to lose 40 total. Down 5 or so now. Recently injured my knee during a women's field hockey game. Hoping it isn't bad (MRI next week) so I can keep up with the weight loss! If it is, would love to have suggestions on how to at least lose a little just through diet. I have always done a combo…

My goal weight is 160. I have quite a bit of muscle from playing in a competitive women's field hockey league.
