Wow...I bet the OP had no idea the discussion she just stepped into. Sometimes I think these questions are best addressed sending the person to one of the groups that support whatever type of eating she/he wants to follow. Posting on these forums will always lead to pages and pages of debate/discussion...but carry on. :)

I wouldn't say it is "rare".....I am single with no children and in my 40s. :)

-You lose your car key in the parking lot and can't find it….for about an hour in a store that you did not realize you would have even lost them in. -You can't remember peoples names, movies, things that other people remember…it's all a fog. -When it is cold, you have to wear gloves all the time…and even then..your hands…

Not logging….just have a plan to eat more vegetables and less carbs.

I am not in favor of cutting out things....reducing them I am all for if that helps...but it needs to be considered as a "lifestyle change" not a "until I get to my goal weight" change.

Welcome! :) I was diagnosed 2 years ago....both my parents have Hypothyroidism. I was surprised to find out that I had a very small goiter...thankfully that is now gone. I've had 2 needle biopsys because my endo wasn't sure whether I had cancer....but I'm all clear now. Don't be surprised if it takes a bit before you…

I am just on Synthroid (112mcg)..

Also....you have to be mindful that just because what you are doing worked for you...it doesn't mean that it is going to work for someone else. So tred carefully.
-
Honestly...I think it hasn't impacted my weight...I think I just wasn't paying attention to what I was eating before.

Can you open up your diary?

I'm not even sure if my endangered species natural dark chocolate with 88% cocoa would be considered clean...but boy is it yummy. :)

I think you should have titled this "How I plan to Survive The Thanksgiving Banquet" because it would have made this a much more personal approach (which..let's face it....MFP is our own personal journey to health/weight loss etc). My plans are going to differ from yours (not because there is anything wrong with your…

That sounds more like Whole 30....which is what a friend of mine is doing. He described it as a "detox" diet. I looked into it...but in all honesty, I am not into cooking and eliminating things that I enjoy is not high on my "to do" list.

Wow...my endo has never given me a copy of my labs....I plan to ask for them this visit (on Friday). Gosh I hope my goiter doesn't come back (took over a year for it to shrink down). I also had to have 2 needle biopsies to rule out cancer. BTW...I share similiar issues...hair falls out all the time, I have raynaud's…

I agree...I think it is a very good link.

I have hashimotos as well and lactose intolerencee and IBS. Hashimotos loves company. I find that being aware and reducing my gluten intake has been helpful. I also keep a journal so that I can write down how I felt that day and what changes I may need to make.

I just got a crockpot so I am marking this post for later. :)
-
I don't restrict myself...everything in moderation. :)
-
My endo had to adjust my Synthroid 5 times before I became stable at 112 mcg.
-
I tend to try to up protein and veges and go a bit conservative with carbs.

Thanks everyone...that was really helpful and explains a lot about why I eat a big meal and lose weight the next day but pay for it the day after that. :) Since it is my birthday weekend....I'm just going to let the weight fall where it will knowing that I will have to work extra hard the next few weeks to get it back…

Thanks everyone. I am going to J. Gilberts with my family this Saturday to celebrate my birthday and although I can't find anything in MFP or online....it appears to be very similiar to Ruth Chris so I'll just use those entries and adjust accordingly.

My brother did this...not for weight loss...but because he wanted to challenge himself. He still goes to Bikrim yoga 3-5 times a week.

That is what I ran into last night....someone had put an item in that was 5.5 oz....well....not to sound ignorant, but I did not know if my portion was truly 5.5 oz...so I put 1.5 servings and then only ate half. I am buying a food scale later this week so that I can at least visually guage ounces...but I agree...1 plate…

In total agreement. :)

Feel free to add me....there are lots of Christian groups on MFP if you do a search. ) Great way to stay connected. Katie

I love Yoga....it's absolutely great for balance and flexibiliy and there are plenty of runners in my class. If you are new...I would suggest going to a class versus trying it at home. Proper alignment is key and a teacher can help correct your position if they see that it is off.
