My endo won't let me go on anything other than Synthroid. I am stable at 112 mcg.

My endo said not to eat anything for 1 hour and not to take any vitamins for 3 hours. Quick Question...are you drinking enough water when you take your synthroid? I do notice a difference when I drink a whole glass versus only drinking enough to get the pill down. I've been on Synthroid for 2 years...I've been at the same…

I understand what you mean....and the choice is really yours....I will be going to my mom's and yes, I will record (albeit estimates) all I eat. These are the things I plan to do: -Fill only 1/2 to 2/3rdsof the plate -Focus more on turkey and vegetables this year -Cut back on potatoes, stuffing and creamed onions -Wait 15…

I have a friend who just started Whole 30 and although I applaud his efforts....I am not a fan of elimination diets...I much prefer allowing myself anything...but in moderation.

Mine is definately a guestimate...I dont own a scale and I eat out a lot..but I do log everything.

Choices...that is all it is about...making choices. Do i want to spend the calories I have on this item or something else.Today I weighed 2 more pounds because I made a choice to have a slice of red velvet cake (even though I knew I had already likely exceeded my calories) because my small group was celebrating my birthday…

GRACE!!! Give yourself GRACE!! There is always tomorrow and the next day and the next day....look at this from a LONG term perspectiive and don't be so very hard on yourself.

I truly think therapy would help....because this isn't just an issue with food but how you see yourself. I used to be anorexic and it was all about trying to control the one thing that I felt I had control over...which was what I put into my body. I can still get that way if I don't acknowledge that that is the true issue…

Have you looked into other thrift stores? The ones I go to I can get good quality pants for less than $10. I have a couple of friends that I usually give my clothes to....otherwise I donate them.

Also..you don't want to judge the changes by weight alone. I measure my waist and hips every 2 weeks. You can choose what you measure.

5'6.5" SW: 150 CW:142 GW: 133 This is based on determining that I am a small frame (wrist is less than 6.5" and based on the BMI chart based on frame/weight...133 is on the high end for 5'6".

Could you open your diary so that we can see what you are logging?
-
I go the tea route....usually green tea.

Hey Rayanne....I log everything via the app on my phone if I am not at my computer. Logging helps to keep you accountable and also allows you to see trends. I wonder if you aren't dehydrated. I know that I need to do a better job of drinking enough water after I work out.

I have to agree....limiting yourself with what you can eat is not sustainable. I honestly do not "restrict" myself from anything. I just try to be more concious about what I eat and the choices I have..if I have a slip up, I can handle it....because the point for me isn't so much about the end weight goal as the awareness…

It would help if you made your food diary public.
-
It does work....and what I like best is that I can use the app on my phone when I'm at a restaurant to get an "estimate" of calories.

I use the app when I am out and the website when I am home. I've used the app when looking at menus that don't have calorie contents...although it won't necessarily give me the exact same item....at least I have an estimate. The fact is...if I don't track...then I feel like I am not being accountable to myself. How else…

That isn't a lot of food....the question is...is that something you can 'manintain"?? What about parties, eating out, family holidays? I know there are days that I can get away with eating very little because I've trained myself to not be hungry...but my "splurge" days then create a havoc for me. I think it isn't the fact…

I know it is a pain...but I log every day and I try to log everything to the best I can....there are times that I have to put in components and I oftentimes have to guestimate because I eat out a lot and don't have a scale...as such, I know that it's a bit hit or miss for me. But not logging would mean that I would miss…

No....because all my entries are "guesses" at best (and that includes calories earned by doing certain activities). That is ok..I am learning good "general" things about foods and exercize.

I also buy all my clothes at a thrift store....I shop at Value Village and Unique. I can't shop at retail stores anymore....typically I can find dresses for around $8, jeans for around $6, tops for around $6, blazers for around $7. Some of the brands that I have found: White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, Jones New York,…

I am on 1.12 of Synthroid. I definitely struggle with feelings of being tired and have spoken to him about it....but he has been practicing for over 40+ years and won't switch me to anything else.

I can't see your diary to understand your calorie intake....but I wouldn't "skip" going out for fear of going crazy. Are you concerned you will make bad choices?? You can look stuff up to get a rough estimate of calories...when I go out, I try to understand what my choices are or bring along some small healthy snacks that…

But I think a lot of individuals reason....hey, if I can lose 1 lb by only eating X% less than my maintenance weight...then I could certainly lose a lot more if I consume even less calories. You are right..this isn't complicated, however we end up complicating matters by trying to "under" eat our calories.

Stage 1...motivated by my work's Get Fit Challenge. As I look outside it is POURING rain...but I am still dedicated to get my 30 minute walk in. As it gets darker and colder, I know that I may get closer to stage 2 and I'll really need to consider joining a gym.
