Welcome to the group. The only reason I found out is due to an annual exam through my work that showed that I was on the edge of being normal. Further testing revealed that I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and now I take Synthroid every day. Welcome to the group.

I think cuttting anything out completely is a bad idea. Carbs in and of themselves are not "bad" and I would hate to have to give up bread, pasta or fruit for that matter. You just want to aim for healthier options.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago. Both my parents have it so it runs in my family. I am on Synthroid 112 mcg. Weight is not my biggest issue....I hate feeling like I never get a good night's rest. I just type in the food (example chicken breast) and look for whatever is closest. It isn't accurate but it gives me a good enough estimate for me to base my calories against. :) Good Luck.
