  • Ugh - forced me to buy smaller clothes and endure positive comments about how I look... jerks.
  • This is mine here (I'm 5'3"): http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1161107-progress-28-5-pounds-down-inches-with-pictures BUT I'm not done yet and I'm only at 2 pounds below your starting weight. You can do it!!
  • Thanks!! I also wanted to add that the reason I was so persistent in seeing doctor after doctor was that I was relatively healthy and knew something was wrong in my body. Friends and family kept saying things like "I'm sure it's fine" and "you look fine" before I was diagnosed, and after they'd say "I knew something was…
  • Thanks! They really didn't get to it very fast at all. I looked about 8 months pregnant before I got them to take me seriously, but I am very lucky that it didn't get any bigger. Or rupture or something.
  • I almost hate to admit this, but if my dad talked to me about my weight, I'd know it was a health concern and that he'd felt very strongly about my health to broach the subject. If my mom did, I'd be in a tailspin of anxiety and frustration. With my mom, weight comes up every time we talk. Her weight, my weight, that…
  • I just wanted to throw in that you'll hear over and over again that resolutions don't stick. New Years this year is a Wednesday. Just think of it as the Wednesday you started. Not the beginning of the year or any other meaningful date. Just another Wednesday. Then, if you have a set back (and we all do) it's not your…
  • I can totally stay on this diet!
  • Most of the people who have been around for a long time will dog-pile on someone who suggests a cleanse or a specific diet (my favourite was the woman who wanted to eat nothing but boiled eggs for a month). It can get pretty entertaining actually.
  • I can't relate but I know there are great people on here who can. We lost my lovely father in law to thyroid cancer, and it feels damn good to see someone else kick it's *kitten*! Way to go!!
  • I'm going to a Vegas wedding in the spring and plan to get this: http://www.victoriassecret.com/swimwear/one-piece/cut-out-one-piece-very-sexy?ProductID=109528&CatalogueType=OLS I'm only 30 and am pretty determined to be in bikini mode, but I have a huge scar on my abdomen (12" long, 2" wide) from a surgery I had. Plus I…
  • Read the responses. I think you're in the right place.
  • I've lost my pregnancy weight + 27 pounds. Last year at this time, I was still swollen from the drugs they gave me during birth, so a before and after right now isn't very accurate. I was also deep into newborn land, happy but emotional and a bit overwhelmed. Right now I feel fantastic. My daughter is amazing. I can run…
  • A few years back, my mom told me about this diet, and I'd shrugged it off as unscientific, which it is. The really funny thing is that since I've started moving towards more whole foods, higher quality meats, eating more red meats, more fat and fewer carbs, etc, I've been feeling fantastic. This is apparently how someone…
  • This is creepily accurate. I just wish my hair would curl like that.
  • Not *****y resting face, but *****y dancing face. I get all serious and close my eyes and really get into it. I always hear "Smile!" "You don't look like you're having any fun" etc.... shuuuuuut it. I'm in the zone. I'm not here to decorate your world. Want to find something pretty to look at, buy a watercolour landscape.
  • I wasn't just being nice! I meant it. You'll see when I post y success story with my new white blazer :)
  • Um, no... not really. Kind of? This doesn't really have a firm definition, so... What are your goals? If your goals are just to lose weight, then no. Just eat pop tarts and twinkies until you meet your calorie goal, then stop eating for the rest of the day. Unless you can exercise, then you can eat an extra twinkie. If…
  • I don't have photos, BUT I do now fit into a small (sometimes a medium or extra small) now after my highest weight of being a L/XL. My trainer and I both needed to learn to shop so another trainer at the gym took us both to the mall. I distinctly remember her saying "you should both be a S/XS in here" and I was floored.…
  • Stunning! You look amazing!
  • Not only does your shape look fantastic, but your style is seriously bad *kitten*. I need to go out and buy a white blazer right now. And everything else you're wearing. You have fantastic taste.
  • Way to go!! You look fantastic
  • You are freaking adorable... and hot. Hot damn!
  • Oh and one of the harder parts for me: alcohol = less judgement + chicken wings/nachos/jalapeno poppers = calorie overload. So, drink more when less food is on the table. E.g. later in the evening. This has been a huge challenge for me now that I have a baby and need to come home earlier, which means that I'm out while the…
  • Work out earlier in the day. Go dancing. Stay hydrated. Find an alcohol you like the taste of. Mix with real lime and/or soda water (not tonic!). Make it your drink. Try this: mix an ounce of whiskey with some soda water and a slice of lime. First off, you'll look like a badass next time a guy goes to order you a drink and…
  • I've found MFP's numbers to be pretty accurate for me, but I also round down with minutes, speed, intensity etc. rather than rounding up. I think you'll figure this out through some trial and error. If you're weighing your food, tracking accurately and working out but not losing weight, the numbers might not work for you.…
  • 1. Lose about 10 pounds of fat (if I gain 10 in muscle, even better) 2. Maintain my weight 3. Run a half marathon 4. Find a fun sport (jujitsu, rock climbing, triathlons etc?? I don't know, but I know I need something like that to stay active) 5. Read and review 26 books 6. Knit myself a sweater.
  • I keep hearing from people that MFP overestimates calorie burns from exercise, but haven't personally found that to be the case. If anything, I'm burning more and/or eating a bit less than what my diary would have you believe. I've been losing faster than MPF would predict, so I try to eat back almost all of my exercise…
  • 1. My husband and I have an arrangement where he deals with the **** on his side of the family and I deal with mine. Your wife should talk to her mother about it, but... 2. I think there is an even better way to do it. Next time you're on your way out for groceries say something casual like "I'm going to get extra XYZ,…
  • I'm not a "low carb dieter" but I can't eat as many carbs as some people can because I have a sensitivity to something in wheat (not really sure what). And right now, I'm trying to lose weight. And I'm breastfeeding a 1 year old. It's working well because naturally, I'm someone who thrives on a diet that closely resembles…
