Second time mom back to lose the baby weight (again)
Hi! Last time around I lost all the baby weight plus another 30 pounds. Breastfeeding took care of the actual pregnancy weight and I used MFP and a lot of exercise for the last 30 last time around and was thrilled. This time, I gained more while pregnant and am not losing as fast. My goal is to lose about 40 pounds. The…

Calories too low??
So, according to MFP, my BMR is 1,288 calories (female, 30, 5'3", 132 pounds at last weigh in) and that just seems so low to me. I'm also working at a sitting job so I have my setting on sedentary and losing 0.5 pounds/week. MFP is saying I need to eat 1360 calories, which is supposedly higher than my BMR, but still seems…

I'm looking for some inspiration. Anyone have any fitness (not weight-loss) podcasts that they're into?

Flu/Illness and weight loss
So, I just came home from work with dizziness and nausea and other flulike symptoms. I'm definitely fighting the flu. Right now, I'm on my last 10-15 pounds, and eating just over my TDEE, while trying to lose .5 pounds per week. I'm also breastfeeding a 13 month old (so I'm eating an extra 200 calories to make up for…

Progress!! 28.5 pounds down + inches (with pictures)
I'm not quite yet down to my final weight and if I'm honest, I've been eating a tiny bit over or under lately rather than consistently just right so I'm hoping that posting this will help me reaffirm my commitment to the last 12 pounds (or so). So, here I am. 28.5 pounds down from when I started on MFP. And this is the…

Question: Carbs vs. sugar in MFP tracking
So, when we're tracking carbs, fibre and sugar, what are the units and how do they add up. I know that sugar is a type of carb, and so is fiber. So I thought maybe carbs = fiber + sugar, but that doesn't even remotely add up. So, what is the deal here?

NSV - Christmas Day workouts - what's yours?
I was super stressed Christmas morning with a house full of guests coming over for dinner. It was our first time hosting, but our giant families make the holidays 1-2 weeks of flat out family time, which is awful for even the most moderate introvert (let alone those of us who totally get why becoming a hermit is…

Breastfeeding and "Starvation Mode"
So, right now, I enter in breastfeeding and it takes 300 calories off of my food. This means when even if I eat 1200 calories, it shows up as 900. I'm a month in and still producing enough milk so I'm not worried about any impacts that way. I have a sensitivity to wheat and dairy (a very real one) so getting enough…

NSVs and SV for me today!
So, I've been sick for two weeks so my training has taken a backseat, but this last weekend I managed to run my 5K in 30 minutes. Then at my baby bootcamp today, two of the women I've been working out with noticed that I've been looking slimmer, "especially from behind"! My work/painting jeans can now slip off and on…

Accounting for Breastfeeding
So, for my first week, I was just ignoring any loss of calories due to breastfeeding just because I didn't think about it. Then, I went back and added it in so that it subtracted 300 calories from my food intake. Then it told me I was eating too little for that first week, which I can't really do anything about, and I've…
