That sounds painful, I'm sorry to hear you're going through that! Like the others said, you can lose weight by controlling your diet. Change your setting to sedentary since you won't be exercising as much. That will most likely lower the calories you are allotted each day. And definitely walk for exercise. That's the only…

Adding in some new workouts can help when you hit a plateau, especially if you've been doing the same exercise the whole time. The body will get used to an exercise over time. If you don't already, try adding in some strength training. It's great for your metabolism. Even doing body weight exercises is great - sit ups,…

1. It is impossible to spot reduce fat. Working out to only make your lower body smaller will set you up for disappointment. Fat comes off of the body equally so you can't work an area and expect to see results only there. The only way to lose fat and therefore weight is to eat at a calorie deficit. Watch what you eat and…

I eat a lot of greek yogurt, beans (watch for carbs though), almonds, edamame, turkey burgers made with ground turkey breast, chicken (my favorite meal is a salad made up of grilled chicken, black beans, and frozen corn (carbs again so a really small amount) heated up in a splash of chicken broth, lime juice, hot sauce,…

One doesn't have to be underweight to have an eating disorder, in fact they can be of average weight or overweight. It sounds like you're starting to develop some disordered thinking about eating which is leading to some unhealthy habits. It is really great that you recognize that what you're feeling and what you're doing…

I switched over to Whole Foods due to a personal choice to try and eat more organic. At the time they were the only health food grocery store near us (I have to drive a half hour to get there!). We now have a Trader Joes but I like my Whole Foods. Yes, WF is more expensive than traditional grocery stores, but they do have…

I don't know much about your syndrome (other than what you said) but I find the key to feeling full and satisfied is protein. Try increasing the amount of protein you eat and see if that helps you feel more full You mentioned eating fish, what about chicken or eggs? Also like others said beans will fill you up. I add black…

I don't have advice on what you should eat, especially since I'm not doing Paleo but I do have some general advice. I had surgery on my foot two years back and the best thing I did was cook up food the day before. I made chili and lasagna. This way I had the food prepared and my husband could bring it to me/I could get up…

I try and eat clean (my definition: no or very limited processed foods (because no one is perfect!), lean protein, beans, fruits and veggies. I try and do organic too, mainly for dairy and meat but that's a separate, personal choice.) and I log everything. Too much of a good thing can still be a bad thing! :) Logging helps…

I only ever eat a half an avocado at a time so I cut in in half, sprinkle lemon juice on the other half, and put it in the fridge until the next day. The lemon juice helps to keep it from getting too yucky. The exposed part might still get a little brown, but it scrapes right off and it's a beautiful green underneath and…

So excited to find this thread! :) I just started lifting two and a half weeks ago and I'm looking for some motivation from others who lift too. I finally realized that I was never going to look like I want with diet and cardio and that strength training was the key. I enjoy the friends I have on MFP but sometimes their…

My husband and I have been using Syntha-6. It is by far the most delicious protein powder I've ever had! We currently have the Chocolate Milkshake and I just ordered Peanut Butter Cookie and Banana from bodybuilding.com last night. I can't wait for them to arrive! I recently starting weight lifting and I struggle to get…

Add me, I'm always looking for new friends and I'm on here every day! :)

I walk my dog most every day and chose not to report it unless it's over 3 miles. I figure it's a part of my daily routine so I don't count it as exercise. I only log intentional exercise - running, aerobics classes at the gym, or weight lifting. So it's a personal choice and up to you. Good luck! :)

I've just started lifting weights myself. I found this program... http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/womans_lean_sexy_bible.htm It's set up for 4x a week but I modified it to 3x a week so I can run. I'll be lifting M, W, and F and running T, Th, Sat with Sunday as a complete rest day. We'll see how it works, but I'm not sure…

I can totally relate to your pain. I had a nasty bunion on my left foot for longer than I can remember. It started way before I was 16. People were always shocked to see how bad it was and how young I was. It never really bothered me and then all of a sudden one day it did. It bothered me a ton when I was running. I was…

I used to be obsessed with Crystal Light and Mio. I know it sounds strange to some, but I hate the way water tastes (ok haters, go ahead..."Water doesn't taste like anything!" ). But then I started to pay more attention to what I was putting into my body and I realized that all of those water enhancers have…

I'm a big A/small B who has lost 8 pounds. I think I lost those pounds all from my breasts! I'm still wearing the same bras (36A) but my breasts look deflated. It is very depressing. I figure it can't get much worse because there isn't much else there to lose size wise. :)

I'm a peanut butter addict (usually eating it straight out of the jar!) so I love PB2 because I can get the flavor without all the calories. I use the powder in smoothies, to flavor plain greek yogurt, and oatmeal. There's a regular and chocolate version. However, I don't like it mixed with water to actually make peanut…

You make your own recipes though. So say you make your scrambled eggs with 2 eggs, 1 tbsp. milk, and 1 oz of cheese (not sure how you make your eggs, but this is an example). Click on the food tab, then recipes. This feature allows you to add your own recipes. Do your research on eggs, milk, and cheese and find an entries…

Is 1200 what MFP told you to eat, or the amount that you think you should eat? 1200 is really low so especially for someone of your size and age!

You've gotten some really great advice so I won't repeat it but I have just one suggestion about your taco question. Do not skip breakfast or lunch. Skipping meals will only slow your metabolism and also make you hungrier later. If you're worried about calories at dinner, eat lighter meals earlier in the day. Also, if…

If you eat scrambled eggs a lot you can make a recipe for it. Just put all the ingredients you use into the recipe, title it Scrambled Eggs, and when you want to add it into your food diary you can just add the recipe rather than entering in every component. Just a little time saver! I've done this for oatmeal and…

I would check with a seamstress as soon as possible. Some dresses are harder to alter than others, for example if it has intricate beading or lace. And that can make it more expensive to alter. Also, if it's a zipper/button back dress you might need it altered but if it's a corset back you'll probably be fine since you…

I studied abroad last summer and gained 10 pounds. No big deal, because how many times will you get to travel Europe and eat so much good food? We sent 3 weeks in Belgium, so much beer and chocolate!! :) I just haven't been able to lose the weight. I've even gained some more along the way. After rejoining MFP after a break…

Thanks all! You confirmed what I thought, fruits are not evil and added sugar is! I'll just keep enjoying my fruits and keep an eye on added sugars. Thanks again! :)

I was just about to post the same question! Every day I go over my sugar daily goal. Take yesterday for example... one pear (16 g sugar), 1/2 c raspberries (3 g sugar), 1/2 c strawberries (4 g sugar). That's 23 g right there and MFP says I should only have 28. Should I really be paying attention to my sugar levels when…
