OP: I'm doing a deficit while lifting. It works for me and is slow going. I have another 27 lbs to meet my first goal. It can be done.

Yogurt, fruit, protein shake or bar are my go to items.

Several free workouts on pinterest and youtube. I use bodybuilding.com and simplyshredded.com for weight training programs. If you have On Demand, there are free workouts on it as well.

It is important to take your MEASUREMENTS! This is the only true way to determine the number of INCHES you have lose. I will loose my stomach first but my thighs and butt remain the same to me unless I measure them. Don't get discouraged. Just use a different method to monitor your SUCCESS! Good luck.

I have sciatica issues too. If the nerve is pinched I am in horrible pain and I can't workout. I will do my stretches if able. I did Pilates to strengthen my core and have found a studio which offers free class. Until a doctor can diagnose you, I would focus more on diet which is a key to weight loss and maintenance. Rest…
