Is there a reason that you are tracking Iron in your diary? If not, I highly suggest you change that to track sugar. I think you will be surprised by how much sugar is in your diet. White sugar is not just in candy, it's in most white carbs - the cereal you eat for breakfast, the snack bars that are "healthy", the fast…

We can't share the recipe? Really? How silly is that! I can't be the only one who needs that feature. Thanks for the tip. I will have to be sure she knows what day I logged it on, lol.

I work second shift and I log waking up to going to bed as a day. Unfortunately MFP changes at midnight always. So I changed my time zone be 4 hours behind my actual time zone. This way MFP and I are on the same day until 4am and when I eat dinner at 1am it doesn't think yesterday is over yet. I did also change my diary to…

Here is what my nutritionist said a few years ago: The point of drinking water is to be MORE hydrated. The point of logging your water is to know how well you are doing at staying hydrated. He told me to count anything water based that DOES NOT include a dehydrating agent (like caffeine) as water. And to count everything…

Thank you.

Thank you so much for this post. This is the simplest explanation I have seen so far. If you don't mind, I have one more question for you. Since you seem to have it figured out. :) When I set goals through MFP it asks me for my planned exercise. Should I tell it that I work out 5 days a week for an hour a day? Currently, I…

SW 278 CW 222 My goal next goal is just to get under 200, but long term I am looking to be between 120-135 depending on muscle. Mostly I just want to be able to wear a bikini. Lol.

I don't know what they are called but it is a sit-up variation that my mom's trainer had her doing. At the gym I do this with an exercise ball, but at home I do it with whatever I can get my hands on. A balloon, empty box, small laundry basket, etc... The bigger your "ball" the more weight you are adding. Start by laying…

No one has another website they use?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I thinkI would estimate somewhere in the middle. It seems llike the eliptical was definitely off. :(
-
Can you eat fish? If you can then you should try adding that to your diet.
-
How long did you work out on the elliptical for? What level were you on? What was your high/low HR? I am 25 and 215 lbs and at level 8 (HR 135-155) I usually burn about 100 cal for every 10 mins. You are in my age range and just a bit heavier than I am so depending on how tall you are you should probably be burning about…

Yes. Wal-mart has a cheap 15 dollar one that is digital and works great. Mainstays brand. Worth every penny.

I have a hard time getting enough fiber so I take a "greens" supplement.

I agree! Everyone here is awesome! If you don't want to swim you probably won't get a lot of cardio. You can, however, do some simple strength things. When you are just sitting down reading try just tightening and releasing your ab muscles. Engaging your core over and over is like doing mini sit-ups that no one can see…

Yes. I do feel like this too. No matter what I look like it will never be the way I want. When I am having really bad days I try and combat this feeling by focusing on being healthy instead of how I look/know I will never look in the mirror. And as long as I am healthy then I try not to think about anything else too much.…

I log things that are above and beyond. For instace, I would not log cleaning the kitchen (dishes, stove, counters, etc...), but I would log pulling the fridge and stove out and then crawling on my hands and knees to scrub the floors clean around and under them. The former is normal activity, the latter is heavy lifting…

I often have this happen. I am 5'1" and my goal weight is 135 with a maintenance weight of 140-145. But I often see before pics where people are that weight and want to lose 15-25 lbs. Not me. I like my curves.

I would love to join in! Please feel free to add me as a friend! P.S. How do you log the DVD?

I do cardio without weights everyday. For my weights I do two days on/one day off.

My doctor told me that weight loss is just calories in and calories out. She said that how much you weigh is your lifetime overages and deficits. So losing weight is just about creating a deficit in the long run. If you want to roll them over, go ahead. Just know that (as long as you are eating enough to keep your…

My mom and I have the same problem. I finally got into the habit of weighing myself on Saturday mornings. For me it's an easy way to remind myself of my goals and it helps me stay focused. My mom works with a trainer so she set her training sessions for Sundays. It helps her to have a mini "set" schedule with someone she…

Hello and welcome!

You can do it girl! Making this post was the first step. The second one is getting back on track! We all have those days, weeks, and months where we aren't as good (I was stuck in the 230's for 5 weeks!) but when we decide that it's time to get back on track we can! That's the great part about this journey. It is a journey…

Well... I don't know a lot about HRM's but this product only got 2.5 stars and the one review says it wasn't accurate. Although it only has a few reviews so it's hard to tell. I'm not saying it won't work, I'm just saying that you should be careful and be sure to check your pulse against it's HR measurement when you get…

At my gym we have these two girls who show up, follow the trainers around at their sessions, and then do the same workout! Hello.... I PAY for these sessions! They make everyone mad. One of the managers last week even went up to them and said something like "If you are interested in personal training sessions I would be…

Mary Kay makes a Night Solution (for faces) that I use on my stretch marks everywhere. Kind of expensive but it seems to work well for me. :-)
