  • This is a learning process. Some can not figure out how to eat better and some still have not gotten it that fast food is very bad for them. I myself have a terrible time with my love for pizza. I hope I don't whine but there are days when you do follow and try harder and there is no payoff at the end of the week and it is…
  • I have been to and had a few in my day. I would suggest a game where you make baby names with in the designated time from the parents first names. Most wins. another was name all the baby items you can in a set amount of time. Can be out loud with someone keeping track and the person who does most wins or you can score by…
  • Dont touch the scale if it scares you that much. Do if it will spur you on though. I have flallen way off the wagon and gained the entire twenty I had lost here back in two months. I have to get back on and take it a day at a time. I made it through yesterday...working through today. You can too. Good luck.
  • Were you filling a list? IF not why did you buy so many things you would not buy for your own family? It is a struggle to even learn to eat better let alone buy it or know how to fix it. And then there is the struggle of getting family members to change when it is your goal not theirs to eat healthier.
  • seems unanimous..i also do it first thing in the morning after potty and no clothes. Have for years.
  • Forgot to add that when we yo yo it reflects in our ticker if we use one and I feel sad that my ticker looks like I have made such little progress but then it is reality.:glasses:
  • Welcome to the best place to find support and encouragment I have ever found. I know you will find it helpful. If nothing else it will help you see what you eat and what you may be able to change. Good luck! Add me as a friend if you wish.
  • Im sorry for your loss and your inaiblity go with hubby. It takes a long time sometimes to accept a loss especially when we cant be part of the funeral or memorial. In time it will sink in. Your hubby will need you when he is home and it will be more real to you then. Both of you will be hit with moments of sorry for a…
  • after having lost a total of 56lbs in a year I was with my son at his recent potters fair. He is a reed and was so proud of my new me. I felt beautiful that day. I have struggled and regained ten lbs or so since then and don't feel so beautiful but know I can. Now its a goal again..before it was pride pure and simple. I…
  • Hi, that would hurt anyone. I wont call him names because you say you two have had a wonderful relationship to date and this is not typical. You really can't ignore it and at this time trying to discuss it again wont really work with out the emotions getting in the way. I am not doing too well on the weight myself at the…
  • It is a choice you can make. I myself try to avoid counting the cals burned in the things I do daily ..those things done once a week like shopping I might count. The thing is not everyone burns the same amount doing the same activities. I burned more walking the store sixty lbs ago then I do now. So do what makes you feel…
  • I agree with you. You need to add to the list boredom because with us working so much less physically we are more inclined to be bored. I also have been reading a book on sugar and how it works, well it shows that what we eat leads us to eating some other things by the changes in our system. Being tired, etc. I see you…
  • What a horrible thing to say to anyone let alone some one you are in a relationship with!! I am more than glad you dropped his sorry self. I know from the time I have been here that you will find forgiving encouragement and fit right in. There are many journeys here...some with a long way to go and some with a shorter way…

  • I am 53, been over weight only the last 13 yrs. Gained due to medications and then kept it from poor habits and stressful life changes. Learned well how to come up with excuses and to just let it all go. Now I have been on a medical treatment over the winter that helped me lose 50 lbs. Then I saw this site and decided it…

I went to cooked veggies and lowered my fiber a bit. ..of course now that I have done that I am eating much worse. Just got discouraged but not because of the foods. Good luck figuring out what is happening. Hang in there.

I lost a total of sixty lbs in the past year though only joined mfp recently to learn to eat better and stay fit and hopefully drop the last twenty lbs. Lost 13 of them putting me in a 10 for the first time in 15 1/2 myself. :) What a wonderful feeling…
  • I have no answer for you honey but I have the same question so thanks so much for asking it. I have read the responses you got..very informative and they should give you lots of encouragment. I on the other hand am over fifty so I have a less optimisic outlook. I have saggy EVERYTHING lol. I have however noticed a huge…
  • IF you are not a math whiz what can you do to figure that out? I was not sure how I could fit in some strength training in there and I sure need it. I have lost a total of 65 lbs since Sept and as a 53 yr old woman I am flabby from my chin down. lol. When you walk using the and weights how do you use them ? just holding…

  • Awesome! That has to feel wonderful!
  • Hi, I log every bite. Not for others but so I can see what happens to me when I eat like that. I am not here to impress anyone else. I am here to learn. For example, I had a bowl of liptons chicken noodle in the packets and was horrified to see the amount of sodium. I mean I thought it would be a good thing for me but boy…

  • I have been wondering this too. IT will be interesting to see what the others say. Thanks for asking it.
  • with me it was the attitude that what I did to my hair and face did not matter since being so overweight I still looked old and tired. and I had given up on a lot of things..the dentist is going to make my smile nice again for the first time in twenty years. I have my hair cut by a darling niece now who begged me to make…
  • I am having a bit of the same issues this week. I am going to have to make sure the things I do not like to eat are all the snacks in the house for the family. I know..change their eating choices but Hubby would just die.lol. Why dont we make a "pact" ..we will each get it together in the week ahead? At least we can…
