  • If you're on the fence at all, one option is to sort of go part-time vegan. I've been trying that more myself. Essentially, I try to have meat as little as possible, but I don't rule it out. I try to eat fish twice per week, but I don't bother with red meat any more. If I don't see something I like, I'll allow myself to…
  • Hello. I haven't done a very good job on myself and would like a mentor to help keep me on track. I also have accumulated a bunch of information and might be able to help one other person, but I'm not sure anyone wants a mentor who is having problems themselves. I think it's easier to help someone else over helping myself.
  • I joined Planet Fitness recently and have liked it so far. I also was wondering about red light thing. I get the vibro-plate stuff. I used to use a non-enclosed one for making a few exercises more intense, or to help massage muscles. With the red-light thing, I would want to use that for my back acne but I don't know if…
  • The problems some people have with gaining weight can be attributed to other medical issues. There are issues where after eating a little the person becomes uncomfortable, or their throat gets sore, or they reflux form everything, and the list goes on. For some they need some kind of food that could deliver 1000 calories…
  • Inflammation as is mentioned when eating food doesn't have to mean stuff you see. There are disorders in the cardiovascular system that can be attributed to inflammation, and you'd never know it. I don't have the details on that stuff though. Since people want science, I'd recommend not using a regular google search but…
  • 41 - no kids - not going to have any either. :-) I have an 18-year-old lizard and a 12-year-old cat. That's plenty in my house.
  • I found that immediately after working out my weight goes up momentarily. You might be holding on to a little water by exercising before the weigh in. Try checking your weight before and after working out to see if you appear a little heavier or a little lighter before working out.
  • I quit smoking on June 30th of last year. I had a 25 pound weight gain. I left it alone at the time and just focused on the quitting smoking (probably a bad idea). Anyway, I quit using Chantix and 2 antidepressants - Zoloft and Wellbutrin (because the Chantix affected me very, very negatively). I'm off everything now,…
  • I think many women can relate. During PMS time, if I eat too many salty foods I can retain nearly 10 lbs in just water. I feel like I'm going to completely explode during that time and everything hurts from it. Still, it is just water weight. I found cutting back salt intake helps.
  • I also have knee problems. Run a few google searches to see if there are any special exercises that could help with whichever condition you have. Even though you can't afford the surgery right now, is there a doctor you can talk to in order to find out other ways to help your knees? The suggestions people have given are…
  • I have the same problem, so what I do is try to make some of my exercise fun. Some things I occasionally do include roller skating, roller blading, bicycling, hiking, and dodgeball (grown-up team). The one I wish I could still do, but I don't think I'd hold up well anymore is fake medieval sword fighting. (There's more…
  • Thanks a bunch for that. :-)

  • Hello. I've been checking out a couple of sites like this. I definitely like this one with it's reporting capabilities. Very cool. Now when I go to the doctor, and she asks what I've been doing and eating, I can just hand her a report for my proof.:glasses: Very cool.
