Welllll I'm a southerner and Irish, so a meat and potatoes type gal. 1. Homemade beef jerky- pick a low cal cut if beef, season it, dehydrate it, weigh it out in a snag Baggie and throw it in your bag. Cheap protein, chewy (or even kindof crunchy), and fairly indestructible in a hot car. Packaged beef jerky is fatty,…

I would say: Don't worry about her; she's shallow. Many ppl are. And when u drop the weight, there will b shallow ppl who smile at you like you are God's gift. Don't fall for it then either bc they r shallow too. You didn't really go into detail about exactly what u r doing, so I can only suggest a couple of things: 1.…

I don't have any advice- I'm just musing but...u had the little sweetiepie on May 1? That's 4 months ago. In my experience with having my 2, it really does take several months to balance hormones out, etc. Your body may still b adjusting- I know I was losing pregnancy weight for at least 7 months, particularly after my…

The whoosh- I love it! You dont know when it's coming, sometimes u think it's never going to happen, then, like a spider-monkey, it gets ya. It's lovely! Another (couple) pound(s) bite(s) the dust- happy for you!!

Ok, so just stay the course and increase patience (by...a lot). Thank u for your reply. The last 15 is proving much more difficult than the first 45. I suspect it's normal but I still don't like it. I'm math-impaired too, which doesn't help.

Good luck! I'm rooting for you! :D this last stretch is hard, lol.

I have no idea what to do but I'm right there with you. I don't really understand how when we get to the last 10-15 lbs, we r Supossed to lose at a lower rate, which means upping calories generally, yet the typical suggestion is to slash calories more and eat even less. I tried to slash my cals more, fell off the wagon…

Years ago when I was still big, a "naturally skinny" girl I knew was telling me about what she ate etc and one of the things she mentioned is that she didn't mind feeling hungry. This was such an eye opener for me. For me the feeling of hunger was a feeling of being deprived, it would nearly make me panic. Had to eat. Now.…

I think they mean increase your daily budget by 100 calories each week. So if u r at say, 1500, once u hit maint. u start eating 1600 cals/day. And then the next week if all seems well, increase to 1700 cals/day. And don't be afraid to see up to a 3-ish pound fluctuation bc that is glycogen/water coming back.

Cheat meals have changed as I have changed. For the first several months I only had one if my weight seemed to stick and not go down. I read about "diet fatigue" and it made sense. I tried it, had Mexican (!), enjoyed it, and after the water weight disappeared my weight rolled downhill again. Now I'm closer to maintenance,…

I did it for a month and it was good- lost weight, felt pretty good. But I quickly got tired of it. Vegetarianism was much easier for me and I stuck with it for years. Eventually I stopped tho bc I like meat . I eat what I feel likw eating. I inderstand that certain seasons just work better for certain foods. My foray into…

If it's not weight loss or kids/pregnancy, gravity will get them eventually. The point is, boobs change like every other part of the body. In my 20's I had ridiculously great boobs, I should have taken pictures lol. But kids and breast feeding and gravity and time and weight gain and then loss and now they r...well...not…

I'm right there with you. I think it's going to take upping patience level. The stickied note called "expectations" says the last 10 pounds can take on average 3-6 months, and Im told for many it takes longer. I'm 5'8" and 148 on a good day. I want to be 135, like I used to be (without even trying, 8 years ago). It's going…

I was never into the taste of water. Husband left out some dasani flavor drops one day, and it's been 2 months since I've had soda. Quitting it happened almost completely on accident. I looove flavored water- drink it all day long. I have a giant thermos I wander around the Earf with. This morning I forgot it and I've been…

Pizza, fudge, York peppermint parties, Starbucks, and recently, Cadbury eggs. Evwrytime I look up, there's a holiday coming along bearing treats. OY! LOL

I took a 4-day break where I didn't log bc family came into town and I knew we would be celebrating, going out to eat, staying up late, etic. It was fun and glorious! I didn't go completely crazy, just ate what I wanted and partook of Starbucks frequently. :) by the end if it, on the last night, my weight was up 9 pounds!…

U have been thru the WRINGER- how in the H did she not think all those injuries and surgeries DIDNT contribute to troubles with your body losing weight?! Sometimes even smart folks are so blind. And stupid. I've had a similar experience but nothing- NOTHING- compared to all these obstacles u have faced. When I was…

I used to be a dr pepper fiend, but then I switched to dp 10. Drank like a 2-liter of that everyday for about a year. Then I tried those flavor drops from dasani- I like the pink lemonade one. All of a sudden I was chugging water all day and my dp10 consumption went to 0-1 cup per day. Once I realized I didn't need the dp…

I am not an expert at ALL, but the ppl on here who r are going to want ur stats. Age, height, weight, how often u work out, whether u use a scale, whether u consistently log, what ur cals r fixed at, whether u have a HRM, whether u log ur exercise, whether u eat the exercise cals back, etc. helpful folk r rudderless…

Some of the food serving weights/portions are just designed to make you fail. 1. A serving of hot dog chili is only 10 cals. But a serving is a tablespoon lol- who puts only a tablespoon on a chili dog? My family loves chili dog night, but I shudder when I make it for them! 2. I hate it when meat servings are only listed…

My homemade, thin pizzas r way smaller and use no butter/oil, but recipe builder says each slice is at least 100 cals more than pan Pizza Hut pizza. That's why I don't get recipe builder- I'm math challenged and just can't figure that one out.

I have no idea...been thinking about that a lot these days. When I got married I was 130, so that was what I put as my goal. But i would have to go to 125 to stay at 130, and I don't recall ever being 125 lol-dong know if that realistic at all. I'm 5'8". For the longest time, I went by 10's. "Get out of the 190's!" Get out…

1. I didn't eat the brownie 2. My husband says I'm getting stomach blades like I had in my 20's, which I never paid attention to until they left. I couldn't see them last night, but he pointed them out while I was sitting on the bed, so now I'm trying to decide if he was just imagining them or If they exist and I am not…

I have never been a veggie eater, but I promised myself that i would branch out bc ppl kept posting about "bulk." Now I know what they r talking about! I had so much roasted asparagus the other day I was uncomfortably full for the first time in my journey on mfp. I had to go take a nap..If you want to feel full, keep…

I also have a permanent dent. And a chipped canine from chomping down accidentally years after i'd gotten the piercing. As for the pain, it was over almost immediately after it was done. If it swelled I didn't notice but they said to stick to cold things. I enjoyed my tongue ring. Even tho I haven't had it in in many…

You helped me! Thanks OP. :) This was the coolest thread I've seen since I found the stickies.

[ I have been in calorie deficit (usually netting 1200-1300 calories per week), but with absolutely no results.... [/quote] ^^^if you have been netting 1200-1300 per WEEK, then that's the problem. In fact, if you have been netting 1200-1300 per DAY, even, that could be the problem, depending on your stats. Also, did you…

Maybe "making a deal" with yourself would help? Something like: "I will restrict cals for X amount of time (like a month or two), or until I'm down to X weight (like 3,,5,10 pounds from where u are now), then I will eat at maintenance cals for X amount of time." Some of the big successes I've read on here took breaks like…

This post and YOU are full of awesome!! I'm soooo glad u choose mfp! You go on with your bike- I think I would really like riding a bike too. :)

You are gorgeous and you HAVE lost a lot of weight. If your friend had done this, you would be proud and happy for them. (See what I'm getting at?) don't minimize what you have done- whether it's losing weight or anything else. A good job is a good job- no matter who did it! I have found in my lifelong journey toward…
