To really shed weight you need a mix of cardio and strength training. I do full body strength training 5 times a week (M,T,W,F,Sat) but before I hit the weights I warm up with light cardio. I am not sure what you are looking for. There are plenty of Apps for smartphones and some are FREE. I use Jefit, Myfitness Pal, and Runkeeper linked with strongerapp. Good luck

As stated by gsluijter, I would increase to 4. It is not a significant amout of weight and the worst that will happen is you may be a little sore. Just my opinion though. I am not a doctor and what ever you choose is up to you. I take no responsibility for anything that may go wrong.
