• I had it at a little market in Puerta Vallarta where a guy cut the coconut open with a machete and served it. I still didn't think it was all that great, but the atmosphere was too nice to do anything but grin and bear it. I can't say I am eager to try the processed variety.
• I have been running for the last few months and was feeling a stud running on the treadmill. When I started running outside though it was so much harder I was really crushed. I have learned that running on sidewalks and concrete are still too much for me. (I am 40 and my ankles and Achilles tendons just are not ready for…
• There is only one thing I have cut out of my diet. I have cut back on a few things, most white stuff for wheat, most sodas more to increase water, etc. The only thing I have cut out entirely is Reese's Peanut Butter cups because I am just one Reese's cup away from me in a bathtub full of Reese's with a few gallons of whole…
• As everyone said, 8 lbs is great. I have not lost that much, but close and now am at 7 months in or so. It really adds up!
• Yep, I have a shake at 6:45, small 250 calories second breakfast normally, then sometimes a 3rd breakfast of just oatmeal when most people eat lunch, then I have my lunch late (around 2pm and sometimes eat only half, then the second lunch at 4 or so, then a very small dinner around 7pm. Not sure how many meals this is but…
• Fellow Texan here, welcome! I am in San Antonio.
• Haha, that is exactly what I was thinking. That or he'd be crying when I explained genetics to him.
• This makes sense now (I have no idea about the actual issue), but I read this earlier as: "Why do my hands SMELL after a long walk?" Once I realized what the OP posted this made much more sense.
• Good luck, you will do fine. I had a similar revelation back in Feb and it has been great. A healthy diet and lifestyle don't have to make you suffer. You can still eat chips, just rice chips or some whole wheat bagel chips, or tons of other healthy alternatives. I even at Reese's peanut butter cups the other day. I just…
• Awesome, that is always a struggle at my office where food is brought in nearly ever day for one meal or snacks.
• I am down for some goat, or a whole goat. I live in South Texas so there all kinds of opportunities to eat cabrito.
• Zero now, but when I hit my goal weight I am getting one. I have a few ideas, but by then I will know what I want for sure.
• I got some odd messages after changing my picture, maybe it had to do with the hand on the hip and small dog, I think I gave some people the wrong idea. What is a daddy bear by the way?
• I approve this thread. Also if they are big enough won't it take care of the weight lifting for you? Killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

• I am shooting for 185, but I am 5'10" and a half. I cannot imagine being 150-170, I was more than this when I was in fantastic shape probably due to lean muscle mass. Ahhh, I was in shape and Ace of Base was ruling the radio waves, those were the days.
• Now that I have lost 50+ pounds overall I notice people being way nicer, and I think, "Where were you when I was 275 with a my face shoved in a bag of Oreos?" It makes you realize who really matters and the people are nicer now can generally just screw off in my opinion.
• I just had a cookie too, let's start a club. It was that light little grocer store bakery sugar cookie with pink fluffy icing and sprinkles. 180 calories or so in mine and s**t happens, I will either eat a bit less dinner or do an extra 20 minutes on the bike, or make it back tomorrow. Any diet that does not let you eat…
• I make it at 5:30-5:45 at least 3 days a week, but it is so hard. I have 5 alarms set on my phone and one physical alarm clock. I would love to get to be earlier, but most nights it is after 11. I am a single dad and we don't get home until around 7:15 every night, so going to be at 9 is out of the question. For me though…
• I like the curve of a woman's hip when she lies on her side especially, but failing that, butt all day long.
• Salmon, salmon, and more salmon seems to work well for me. I have also developed a love affair of late with Brussels sprouts and lima beans. My 10 year old son thinks I'm crazy.
• That is pretty impressive actually, if you are going to go over you might as well go big! I have a theory that the body can only absorb so many calories per day. It is total BS, or maybe not. Either way, a day does not matter just the sum of all days. You will be fine.
• Follow Up: I ran 4 miles today and I tried the Band Aid suggestion. This worked well, but I did not factor for hair upon removal. Owwwwwwww!!!!!
• I agree with your post and the arguments are very silly. Also, I am a self-righteous, know-it-all *kitten* at work so I don't feel the need to be one online.
• My doctor said time does not matter other than 8 hours duration, but what is important is consistency. He claimed that most of your recovery and rebuilding time occurs in the first REM sleep cycle and if you get 8 hours but at all different times then that REM cycle is not consistent. According to him this is why swing…
•
Im already H cup; if I go in with suddenly having a Z cup, i think someone might notice LOL!!
Yeah, every guy in the office.
• Yeah, even if it does not get your hear rate up it gets you moving.

• I will be 40 next month and had smoked off and on (mostly on) since I was 17. Then I had a stroke 2.5 years ago. I am also a single father and sole dependable provider for my son. Even after the stroke scare I smoked for over 2.5 years and it was one of my favorite things. I really only smoked when I got up in the morning,…
• I spent a week on business in NYC earlier in the month and ended up losing a pound. I walked most of the time instead of cab or subway, ate small portions but tried a lot of stuff, and hit the hotel gym every morning and it worked out well.
• Heck yeah, I have lost 50 lbs and nearly 40 since I started MFP and I can still help my son's Cub Scout pack start a campfire with the friction my thighs create if I needed to. I guess it could come in handy in a survival situation.
