How would it be to practice them with no weights on my rest days in between lifting days?
-
Nope. Maybe I'm missing something but I thought calcium is good for your bones. I did stop taking a calcium supplement when I noticed how much calcium I was getting from the protein shakes.

Hip flexibility makes so much sense. I am uber tight there. I can do step-ups with 25 lbs, so I would think I should be able to lift heavier squatting, but I am probably wrong. I'll try the plates under my heels and I'll work on hip flexibility - any suggestions for that? Thanks!

I have been know to puke while working out with a personal trainer. It happens.

Your TDEE looks really low if you are doing intense cardio.

Old Navy also has some cute work out clothes for all sizes and not expensive. Just make sure whatever you get is comfortable and you feel good in.

An OP not looking to create drama - LOVE it! Just my two cents... I'm trying very hard to eat more protein and I've found it has helped (immensely) with controlling cravings and hunger while on a deficit. Best of luck to you!

Great job. And you look super cute in that dress!

I have no problem doing push-ups in middle of the gym... the inchworm on the other hand... felt like a total dork, especially as I inched my way past dudes grunting through their lifts.

Did my first NROLFW workout yesterday. Feeling good! Can't wait to see results, and to be able to do more than 15 push-ups

more like a shoe fetish

There is a guy at my gym that sits and reads a magazine in between sets on the equipment he is using. It drives me nuts.

Because of this post, I weighed my scoop for the first time today. Wow! way off. It is more like a scoop and a half. Then I spilled half the container on the floor. Poop!

I figured it out after reading this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets

Yep. First, don't listen to negative people in your life. Lasting weight loss will take time and it will take a while for people in your life to even notice. Don't worry about them, worry about yourself. It may be slower going, I don't know for sure, but from everything I've been reading and a vlog I recently watched, it…

Makes me think I should avoid these places for now, until I get better at estimating portions. And maybe only eat Indian dishes I prepare myself for now. Do you have any suggestions for cuisines that are perhaps "safer" but still kind of "exotic"?

These are great suggestions! When I go out, I usually order foods I don't usually make at home (last week I had thai red curry, tomorrow I'm going to an Indian restaurant), so I often don't even know where to start guessing. So my homework is to look up how some of these dishes are made to get an idea. I really love this…

I recently bought a scale, and now I keep even keep a measuring cup and tablespoon at the office. So when I can, I measure measure measure.... But what do you do if you go out to eat? I'm young, I'm single, I live in an amazing city with so many awesome restaurants, it would be a shame not to enjoy them once in a while...…

I have a question about squats too, I saw this post and felt it would be silly to start a new one. I also can't squat low enough. I think it is a strength thing, and also psychological. I tore my ACL, MCL and meniscus a few years ago. I had surgery and I'm pretty much recovered thanks to lots of PT. Squats were part of PT,…

Exercise and losing weight should naturally bring your blood pressure down, but it is no guarantee. This is totally random and may not be the case for you at all, but birth control pills (with estrogen) turned out to be the cause of my high blood pressure. My blood pressure was high enough (and this was when I was in my…

I would plan on cutting back. Still go out, have fun, enjoy life, but just work it into your plan. I would do it by working out rather than eating less, because drinking on an empty stomach is a bad idea. I have the problem that I make bad food choices when I'm drinking a lot, so that is also something to look out for.

Are you running on a treadmill or outside? I used to get shin splints real bad in high school when I was running with the soccer team. Transitioning from the ground (grass & dirt) to the sidewalk as we did "perimeter" runs caused half of the team to have shin splints. So that is one thing to take into consideration. As far…

Beyond the tips and tricks to help you cut down, you need to change your mind set too - well, that is my experience. I've posted about this book before so I hope people aren't sick of it, but it really helped me. You can probably get it at your local library: The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin…

Don't over think it (I really need to follow my own advice BTW). You were honest about how you look and he wants to see you so I don't think it will be an issue. I've only ever dated while I was overweight - I've never been skinny or even average. Some guys like a little extra something to hold on to. So have fun and let…

^ These are all great suggestions! It may also help to keep your food diary open for others to see.... that'll sometimes help me stay on track. This lifestyle change is hard, so give yourself credit for every small accomplishment. I found this book: "The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person"…

I've seen the proof, and I'm sure you have too. I say, do it, start lifting... it won't hurt that is for sure. But I would also suggest trying to find a cardio you do enjoy, not just for weight loss but over all health - your heart, your lungs. Maybe biking or swimming or team sports. You can try to find something on…

You'll do great! You can already run 3 miles, so on race day your adrenaline will be amped and you'll find those 3 miles even easier. Congratulations!
