Ouch! Did you have surgery?
-
Do you mind me asking - what are you eating? I am never full on 1200 calories, so I really am curious what is making you full.

Are you doing PT for your knee? I tore my ACL and MCL a few years ago, the therapy I was doing to build my leg muscles back up totally worked my glutes. Bridges would be good.

I really can't tell you what is best for you. I think you need to try it and see how it goes. Don't get hung up on losing fast now. Just focus on being healthy and changing your lifestyle so that when you get to your goal weight you can maintain it.

I would get clarification from your doctor. An apple has 15 carbs, a head of cauliflower has 20, 2 cups of a spinach/spring mix has 5 grams... point being carbs are in just about everything, not just breads.

Snacks with protein may help you feel more full. Can you keep a small cooler in the truck with you? That way you can pack some rolled up sliced turkey or maybe celery and peanut butter.

http://rhodeygirltests.com/2009/10/12/egg-white-veggie-frittata-muffins/ I make 5 on Sunday and wrap them individually. Usually 45 seconds in the microwave in the morning gets them toasty. They are a great way to get some protein and actual veggies first thing in the day.

I totally started singing

Love this! Today it was chocolate candies in the kitchenette at work. Yesterday: cupcakes in the morning AND brownies after lunch. That kitchenette is a dangerous place, but that is where the water cooler is. But I know every time I muster the strength to say no, it'll just get easier.

I recently discovered mustard greens, I like the texture better than kale, and it has a slight peppery taste. I sauté some onions and garlic in a pan then add the greens tossing for a just a few minutes so they soften and shrink. Great health benefits, just make sure you measure and count the oil :)

Two years ago I lost weight pretty quickly on a 1200 cals per day plan, but then I gained it back. Now I am using TDEE - 20% to calculate my calories which puts me at 1600 - 1800 cals/day (varies based on whether or not I work out), I may not lose as fast this time, but I'm hoping when I lose it it stays lost …

I cook one about once a week. I live by myself so I'll get a few meals from it - microwaving leftovers. I've been cooking them in the microwave for about a year now: Slice it in half long ways - you need a really sharp knife and pretty strong arms. Scoop out the seeds. place it cut side down in a microwavable dish. I use a…

Yep! Hate that I had to start buying bigger sizes again. I threw out the old clothes saying "I don't want this to fit ever again". Ooops! FR sent.

I understand you completely! Been there done that. It looks like you are getting a lot of great suggestions here and book recommendations... I have one to add. I read (actually I listened to it on CD) this book: "The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person" and it really helped me. It isn't a meal…

Thanks for this! His accent is killer!

I'm jumping on the weight lifting wagon too. I understand where you're coming from. Hang in there and good luck!
-
How long have you been doing the raw diet and how long have you felt drained?
-
Yes!
-
This is good!

Its going to keep coming up because for whatever reason MFP sets EVERYBODY at 1200. I saw a man who was (I think) over 6' tall post something about trying to stay under 1200! People who are new are going to say, ok, that is what I need to do, that is what I'll do. This is biology and math and numbers and to people new to…

Thanks for this reminder... It is so easy to get caught up in the calorie counting and always keeping it under... It doesn't help that the calories you go over on scream at you in bright red

I just read (in SELF mag) that you should NEVER lift more than 3 lbs, and you should do a LOT of reps - like 100. :noway:

Awesome ideas here! Just tonight I put some slices on a multi grain bread with 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil - delicious!
-
good idea!

I keep referring people to this post, hope you don't mind! And thanks for laying it all out nice and easy to understand.

I'm just stating my opinion. I'm not telling you to do anything. If you can eat your vitamins, good for you.
