Crab legs are the best. They take so long to eat you simply don't have time to put away more than you should.

Were you wearing the skinny jeans?

Congratulations on your news... Weight is linked to a lot of different cancers, including cervical cancer (that's what you're talking about, is that right?) Getting to or staying at a reasonable weight may have had an benefit you never suspected. Again, congrats on the news.…

I was going to say #1 is fabulous, but perhaps too funky for a wedding, BUT it sounds like that is the order of the day. Great dress, by the way.

Katie, can you recommend a Pilates DVD? Once upon a time, I had the time and money for Pilates classes, and it changed my body dramatically. But that was then.... Thanks.

Agree with previous posters -- don't see why, within reasonable limits -- fiber and protein could pose much of a problem. Why do you think it's an issue?

I started noticing that I could keep up with the exercises at about 10-14 days. Keep going. Have faith.

I was going to say Kate on "Lost."

You look great and you look like you're on a great road trip... on I-90 where, generally?

Really useful discussion here, folks. Thanks.

Thanks. I took off almost a week for shin splints to stop screaming at me. I couldn't get out of a chair without pushing up with my arms. Now, I'm using my rowing machine for the cardio and that seems to work. It's probably a few fewer calories burned, but I'm not incapacitating myself like I was with jumping jacks and…

Exactly. If anyone is ever in doubt about whether to pass along old clothes, you've put that question to rest.

Definitely leave the music at home. You want to hear traffic and anything else around you. Situational awareness.

"because something is slightly different, but they don't know what...." Amen.

Exactly! (And movies....)

And the little guy has found some pounds! Too, too adorable!

I always have Trader Joe's Almond Meal. I put that stuff in/on everything.

Thanks for this. I'm puzzled. I run about 10-15 miles a week (and have run several marathons without this problem), but maybe the static nature of jumping jacks and the jump rope is enough to do me in. Gotta come up with plan B. Thanks. Off to run.

...and then there are the women in whom weight loss produces the proportions of Olive Oyl. :ohwell:

I thought I was pretty fit, but a week of 30DS has given my crippling shin splints. I can't stand up from a chair without using my arms. Going up and down stair is torture. Okay, so I'm laying off 30DS for a few days, at least until Advil gets the pain under control, and doing shin-splint prevention exercises. Anyone with…

I'm really wanting to know what a McDonald's breakfast looks like in China. Pictures please. I heard on the radio, seriously, that Mickey D's is opening one restaurant per day in China for the next four years. Yep, about 1,300 new McDonald'ses (Grammar Girl, help!). Why should we keep heart disease and diabetes all to…

I have to weigh in. I was at the farmer's market, and heard someone describe a "tomato pie" made just as you would a fruit pie, only with tomatoes and a little cheese to hold the tomatoes together. So I trotted home and made myself two, and proceeded to munch away. Then I recorded the calories: tomatos, fine; onions, fine;…

I like to eat hummus with a spoon.

You look great, of course. Congrats. And without prying, is there anything you can share about your before pic, with the very interesting background?

Day 5 and it's getting harder! Just some advice that's working for me: I have to do at least 10 minutes of warm up (my choice is an erg) before starting the DVD. Without it, I simply can't move my muscles in the first few minutes.

Oh, yeah. Peanut Butter Cups anytime. Then, sugar crash. I'm imagining a conference room of very sleepy people for the business meeting, though.

Another reason this site needs a like button.

About two pounds each, but I think some of the exercises (e.g. chest fly) could go heavier.

Ha! Perfect. Thanks.

Great thread. How do I tag/file it so I can follow it/find it for the next 28 days?
