  • 10 is totally worth it! Anything you do is totally worth it. And we all have to start somewhere. We don't just get up and go run 10 miles. We all had to start somewhere. This isn't your ending place, it's your starting point. Don't give up yet, you have great things ahead.
  • Mug o' eggs- one egg, tbs milk, diced ham and wedge laughing cow cheese. Mix in a mug and microwave until done.
  • Oooo- I love geekery! I have about the same to loose. I got off track due to moving and job going nuts. Trying to get back to it.
  • Why can't they have both? Is there a ranch dressing quota that they have to meet? All else fails, bring your own!
  • Freeze dried fruit- it's less calorie sense then dried fruits and gives you that crunch.
  • W5D2- glad I didn't look ahead at it. But I did it. Now- day three.
  • If I run too late at night I have a more difficult time getting to sleep- it's like the run energizes my head and then my brain won't leave me alone no matter how tired the rest of me is. But if I generally run earlier in the day, I tend to sleep much better. Is there anything particularly different about running for you?…
  • That's wonderful! It's so easy to just say "well, I can't do that" and then give up, so much harder to say "I can't do that, but one day I'm gonna!" You've done a great job! Congrats!!
  • I'm on week 5. I had to start over at week three a while back because life got in the way. But I love it. I am more of an outdoor runner, though I will put in my time on a treadmill if I have to. There is a group for c25k- just do a group search. They have a ton of great tips. Good luck!
  • I've been using mapmyrun, but just downloaded Strava. It seems better then mapmyrun but I am running both simultaneously for a bit to compare.
  • Really good advice! The only thing I would add is work on one habit at a time. As each habit becomes intrenched then add something else. It's overwhelming to try to tackle everything at once!
  • Just started week 5 of c25k. I just started using Strava, I've been using mapmyrun but it seems like Strava is a bit better. Would love some company. Look me up at Kerry Ramirez
  • I have five, but this is by far my favorite. I got just after my daughter was born. My gran passed while I was pregnant with her and we named my daughter after her. So it's for both of them.
  • Thanks for the input. I kinda thought that the Strava was pretty high. I like a lot of the aspects of Strava, love that it tracks my shoes. But I don't have a lot of people on Strava to connect with. Like any. So still up in the air between the two apps.
  • The times I've had a chance to have fresh seafood it's been wonderful. But hey, when you grow up in west Texas you get what you can get.
  • After a three mile run this morning and the youngest always has to join any photo op.
  • Stick with frozen, really. Especially firmer fleshed fish freeze ok- and that's the practice for most fishing anyway- it's caught and then immediately frozen.
  • I plan on getting one- however we are closing on our house next week so the next several months all money is pretty much devoted to the new house. If I am lucky I can get one by Christmas or slightly before as my present to myself. Until then, I guess I will have to just go with the lowest number and hope for the best.
  • @firstsoprano4him I totally get it! I just weighed in at 267 (highest weight was 288) and am a size 20 right now. I have incredibly large bone structure and heavy musculature. (Hello German milk maid, peasant stock!) My lowest weight was about 190 to 200 and I was a 12-14. I think if I could get back there I would be…
  • W5d1! Whoda think I would be able to run one mile, much less three. Admittedly I have to map it out longer then the run times placed for the app. But I still did it!
  • Oh yeah. It would sub fine! I just happen to have a block of cojita that I am trying to work my way through so I always use that.
  • We aren't vegetarian, but I like making frequent meatless meals. My go to for a busy day after work is black bean soup. Two cans of black beans, rinsed. About 2 1/2c veg broth. 1/2 to 1c salsa of choice- we keep is milder because of the toddler. 1tbs minced garlic. 1tsp ground cumin. Throw it all in a pot after starting…
  • The potential is genetic. But lifestyle choices play a huge part in the development of some diseases. So in the nature va nurture argument- diabetes and heart disease falls somewhere in the middle. Plus, even if it were "inevitable" it would probably be significantly reduced with working out and lifestyle choices.
  • After laying in bed and debating for a while I finally crawled out and put on my running clothes and snuck out the door. W3D3 done and over with.
  • The Corn Chex and spices.... brilliant!!! I am so going to use that!
  • Canyon Bakehouse and Udi's Oatmeal breads are the best I've found so far. I keep them in the freezer and then transfer them to the fridge when I start using them. GF breads and baked goods are just more caloric then most wheat based breads. Oatmeal, eggs, and fruit are breakfast staples at my house. I do occasionally cheat…
  • Ok- not pretty, but at 447 calories and with actual nutrients and stuff, it's a heck of a lot better then fast food!
  • Pretty snazzy lady
  • I bought a pair of capri pants from Old Navy- took them out for a spin this evening and I actually liked them once I got over the difference of thicker capris- ie being a tad self conscious.
  • W3d2 down. I managed 1.7m in the 28m and then had enough left over to slow jog another mile with just a few stops to orientate to the unfamiliar trail. Feeling great!
