Ok- if you actually are an acholic- and it seems as though you are with the reported alcohol consumption. Your actual best bet is controlled detox. Stopping drinking suddenly can cause symptoms ranging from general discomfort to seizures and even death. After detox, get yourself hooked into the community- a good LCDC and…

Too many scales. Pick one and stick with that one. It may not be perfectly accurate, it's true. But the point is to see a downward trend. So if it's a starting point, that's the main thing. Different scales can be highly variable between themselves. So weigh yourself at the same time of day in the same manner of dress (or…

First bento in a while. It's starting to warm up here, the bluebonnets are on full display. So starting to experiment with lunches that can weather the weather here in a Texas summer. The bottom is just celery and whipped peanut butter and a rice roller I decided I wanted at the last minute. The top is raw cashews and…

Oops! You're right. Teach me to pontificate. ;)

Erm. Why? It's within normal limits.

The one thing that really helps to remove cholesterol from your diet is nonsoluable fiber. Which you get from fruits and veggies. Which a "low carb/high protein" diet typically excludes because people tend to focus on protein, and fatty proteins at that. Fiber, when eaten, acts like a pipe cleaner to the gut. The…

Neither tea will help with bloating. If you are bloating after eating you would probably be better off buying probiotics. Either in pill form or through yogurt or other dairy. If you go the yogurt/dairy route, make sure you look for the phrase "live active cultures" or all you are getting is a tasty, sugary snack. The…

Chicken breasts, Pace salsa, peach preserves. I generally serve over rice with a side salad.

We recently moved back to San Antonio, Tx- which is now blessed with some truly wonderful greenbelts to go for a run or walk. This one is my favorite- obviously we take the little one there too for walks. It's a boardwalk that runs by a local stream and wetland. I've seen does with yearlings and plenty of other wildlife.…

Cross stitch. Or some other crafting that keeps your hands busy. I like cross stitching, I can set it aside for as long as I need then pick it up again and set off. Plus, I hate the idea of having to constantly wash my hands to keep the cloth and thread clean from greasy or sticky snacking.

Here's what I have learned (for what it's worth and take with a grain of salt!) Work one habit at a time- if I tried to do it all at once I crash and burn because I get overwhelmed. Get the habit set and then add a new habit. Break up weight loss into small goals- 10% of your current body weight at a time. Concentrate only…

Hiyas! How much are you looking to loose?

My husband has many great qualities- easy going is not one of them! But things do get better. I'm not one to hand out advice on love on the net too much as I have no idea really what's going on between you. But, I find journaling has really helped me. Sometimes I need a safe space to rant or to really get at what's going…

Good job! Especially for sticking to paleo (bit generally a huge fan myself) but kudos for making it work.

It's rough! I work and hubby stays home for the second- he starts work at the end of the month and he was in school the last three years. The baby (well, she's three but I still have trouble thinking of her as anything but my baby!) goes to day care. SO, I work all day, have charting to do at night, still do almost all of…

I started at 283 then climbed some more. Down to 266, but stalled out for a bit due to lack of planning and increased stress at work and not making time to go running or workout at all. So, trying to recommit and get back on track! I'm 5'10ish and my goal weight is between 190 and 200.

Add it to shrimp and chicken salads- cuts down the mayo needed and is really yummy.

That and the flu vac this year didn't accurately predict the strains that would become predominant. That many people in that small a space and you get a lot of bugs passed. I wouldn't blame the diet just yet.

I generally let them cool down before closing everything up.

The lunch bento is scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, salsa for the eggs, 1/2c blueberries and some strawberries for color. The other is a grapefruit and an orange. The lunch is 394 calories and the fruit snack is 194. Not exactly pretty, but def yum!

Nope. They hold up really well- I scramble two eggs without milk or other fillers mixed with diced ham and a small amount of shredded cheddar and pop it into the bento warm. I usually have a systema container of salsa to mix in when I eat it, and so far it's worked well every time. It might go manky if you do it ahead of…

Went to the the Japanese store today after work and still no egg molds. Well- they have some for teeeeeny eggs. But not regular eggs. But that didn't stop me from buying some extra bits and bobs and some macha filled chocolates. Yum! Bentos haven't been picture worthy lately- scrambled eggs, ham and cheese feature heavily…

Lemon pepper and a light pan fry is good for trout, catfish and other lighter fish. For salmon I tend to use the foil method in the oven or on the grill with everything from dill and tarragon to steak seasoning. Same for cod and other cold water fish.

No photo- but it was yummy! - Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese and picante sauce in a container. - Two cheese wedges and GF bagel chips - plum - Tuna for a snack

I found a recipe for chicken and rice muffins that you can play with for any given taste. Really, it boils down to cooked rice, poached chicken, chopped veggies, cheese and eggs baked in a muffin tin. I usually do left overs- tomorrow's box will have tonight's salsa chicken bad rice.

For thiner pork chops it love mixing equal parts balsamic vinegar and tamari (my sub for soy sauce) and let sit until reaches room temp. Then coat with sesame seeds (I like mixing black and white sesame seeds) and cook in skillet with cooking spray over medium heat.

The Eco boxes are nice. That's probably the one I am going to get, honestly. Since I am in the car, I don't have access to a microwave anyway. But the fact that stainless steel washes so well is really nice. My favorite set right now is stainless steel with a rubber top.

I had (yeah, HAD) to go to The Container Store today to get a tub or something for the back of my SUV to contain all my nursey stuff as my folders and supplies were taking over. And while there I found lunch container heaven. There are at least two I really want and another one for my daughter as I am thinking about doing…

I logged midnight to midnight because when I was off I went back to normal schedule. In the long run, it's whatever works for you so you can remain consistent. I pack a bento box with a premeasured and logged lunch then a separate snack (depending on the size of the box as one box was roomy enough to pack both).

I totally have smoker envy now.
