  • Wow, you guys make my fears seem foolish. I hate grass snakes and freak to hell out when I see one, with shrieks, nightmares, the whole bit. You guys are dealing with mountain lions and rattlesnakes!! So yeah...move to NH and hike with me! :drinker:
  • Wow! What a great month for you!! Way to go, you were obviously very focused!! :flowerforyou:
  • Just an update to recognize to myself that I've been making progress. It doesn't always feel like it but this post was January 30th. I am now 223, so almost another 20 pounds gone. :drinker:
  • When I'm going to sleep, I "grab" the top sheet with my toes and run it back and forth through my toes on both feet usually but sometimes only one foot (if the other is outside the covers, lol) until I'm very drowsy. I find it soothing. I think my husband doesn't even know I do this, as I try to be subtle about it because…

  • I think we'll call today my rest day this week...was in the car all day and fit in a short walk when I got home. It's dark and raining now.

  • 3.1 done today too! This challenge is pushing me to do just a bit more. :) Not sure how long I can go without missing a day but challenge accepted. :)

  • I'm 47, making it work but it is taking more focus than I've ever had to put forth. Having friends helps immensely!! Anyone is welcome to add me! My diary is open to friends.
  • walked 3.1 today, though not all at once. I walked to zumba class and back; round trip is 3.2.

  • Walked 3.1 tonight. Got home late and was tempted to blow it off but I'm committed so off I went! Strapped on the headlamp and got it done. I probably would not have done this today if I hadn't joined this group, so thanks again for the extra 357 calories burned! :)

  • Not sure if I did 3.1 at once, but definitely walked that far overall today, with my hubby. ;)

  • Excited to have this group! I just started running and am ready to start week 4 of couch to 5K. I'm not following it religiously, some days I don't use it, other times I might do it a few days in a row or repeat a previous week. BUT, having done a 5K in just under 40 today, I can certainly do one every day, walking or…

  • It has taken me 10 months to lose almost 38 pounds. Slow indeed. And I have been feeling like it has not made any difference because like you I see the rapid transformation of others and get discouraged. BUT, tonight I had a photo taken with my daughter before her prom, and while I was loading photos on facebook I saw one…

  • Awesome! Your body is transforming but I bet your mind and confidence are as well! In your before, you look out of your element and a little nervous. In your current, you look like you belong in the gym and know exactly what you're doing there!
  • Today was the 5K in question! Turns out there was not much choice...the hills were BIG hills!! Long and steep. But, I walked as fast as I could, jogged a bit when I felt I could, and finished at a run. I wasn't last and I didn't get hurt. :drinker: 3.3 miles (little over a 5K) and my pace was 15:11, which I'm happy with…
  • What they said. Try a mile at a more moderate pace, with a bottle of water in hand. :flowerforyou:
  • 7 pounds in a month is nothing to dismiss. Sounds like you are weighing too often and expecting too much. If you were up 3 this morning from just a few days ago, look at your sodium intake vs water intake from the last 48 hours.
  • Oh Lordy...some really bad days. You know...all of them, lol Breakfast: BK bacon egg and cheese croissant (x2), hash browns, sometimes those little cinnamon buns too Morning snack: chips, chocolate bar, or donuts(1-4) Lunch: big greasy burger and fries, or an 1800 calorie lunch entree at a local chain restaurant, or 2-3…
  • I bought Pringles yesterday for the first time in months. Bad idea. Ate 3/4 of the can. Lesson learned...single serve or none.
  • Anyone here can add me if you wish but don't judge me by my food diary. I try to stay at or near target, but the macros and micros drive me crazy so I aim for calorie goal, 5-9 fruits and veggies/day, and somewhere close on protein and sodium. I try to get in some activity most days, and I eat pretty much all of…
  • I agree with this, as my abdomen between boobs and waist was the first loss I saw but the last noticeable change in my gaining. I was thrilled to see it go first, as I was appalled when it got so big!
