I've used his Novice 1 and 2 for my first half and a 20K race. I am running the Salt Lake City Half-Marathon in April and shooting for an under 2 hour time (first half I did in 2 1/2…

  • What do you want for thigh measurement? I measured my widest point but the number seems significantly different than others so I think I'm doing it wrong?
  • Thanks for creating the challenge Bridget! My name is also Bridget :) I'm 37 and have been on MFP for about a year and a half? I'm a graduate student writing my dissertation from home, so finding time to exercise is fortunately not a problem. I enjoy running, rock climbing, yoga, hiking, and ultimate frisbee. I use MFP to…
  • I do a strength training class 2X week, yoga at least 2X week, and rock climbing 2X week. Gym memberships can be expensive but I found one that has both yoga and strength training classes that totally justifies the price - if I just go to one yoga class a week it pays for itself in what I would pay on a class by class…
  • You can also combine cardio and strength training in strength training classes that gyms offer - some just keep the pace up and other work in jumping jacks or other more vigorous cardio.
