Wait.... maybe what I saw wasn't the finale then. My wife will be really excited. Last one I saw had Andie auditioning as a singer. That wasn't the finale?

I saw it on Hulu early this week, it should be there. I'll miss the show a lot too. It's funny, both my wife and I started to think it was running down hill at one point and gave up on it. Since then, we've re-watched those episodes and like them all now. I loved when Will Farrel took over and told came back after his head…

I'm in the same place as you. I always seem to plateau around 200lbs. I've learned a little by watching my wife lose weight after having a baby. She gained 60lbs carrying the baby and it took her a little over one year to lose all of it. There were plenty of times over that year where she wouldn't lose any weight for a…

No smart phones, but I do have an iPod touch. Does that application need GPS? Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, you are doing it all wrong. Just eat the whole bag and there are no more questions. All kidding aside. Yes, definitely get a food scale. I bought mine for weighing my coffee but now use it mostly for food. I use it daily. Removing some of the guess work has been comforting to me. I tried two different scales and only…

Yep, under recipes. That is what I do nearly each day, my diary is open if you are curious.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I think deep down we are all at lease a little self conscious, no matter what size we are. My wife is very thin at 114lbs, even so, she is very critical of her own appearance. I used to be thin, but I never really felt thin. It's very hard to remember where we have been relative to where we are.…

Wow, that's a generous perk from your company. Good for them and you!

I know what you mean about avoiding candy at night. There is always a large tray of candy where I work, and I used to eat candy all night, tons of it. I finally decided that enough was enough, it has been about 6 weeks since I touched the candy. I had the hardest time when someone brought in doughnuts.... not kidding, I…

I also changed my settings to reflect the times of day, as others have done. It's been working well so far, I never have to question where something belongs. Try to keep your log starting 12AM to 12PM, that way you don't have to fight the system which will automatically change to the next day. I used to believe that the…

As long as you are weighing the same way each time, I don't think it matters a whole lot. I'm one that likes to weigh in the morning without clothes. It makes sense to me, different clothes and meals may not weigh the same each time.

I've wondered the same thing. You are probably just S.O.L. in that case. You could guesstimate and do a quick-add, or maybe use a competitor, like McDonalds? I like your the image on your ticker. Henchman 21 is probably my favorite character.

I thought I would follow up with a reply. Yesterday I completed my first night of bodyweight exercise. I followed this begginers routine: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ 1x practice circuits, where I learned proper form, not full intensity. 2x regular circuit.…

That is what I ended up doing...I think. I used the calculator at bodybuilding.com and took the calorie count for calistenics. I'm sure there is a better way to keep track, i'll need to spend some time learning.
-
Thank you for that link! I did figure out how to add some of the exercises (strength training goes under strength training.... duh!) But I knew there had to be more calories to eat than 76. Not that I worked my tail off today (learning), but I feel I was sort of working anaerobically. A makeshift home gym is very important…

Bump. Anyone?

I'm going to give this a shot. I'm going to try some body weight exercises tonight, actually looking forward to it. Although I do like to see myself losing weight, really I am more concerned about fat and appearance. I'm a-ok with gaining some muscle weight, I just didn't want it to become a second job. I think your…
-
Ok, I think I will give that a shot. I'll add some basic exercises through my week and up my calorie intake accordingly. I have plenty of time in the evenings to do 30-60 minutes of exercise at home. I agree with the lifestyle change. I thought that's what I was doing, but can see that I should make some adjustments.
-
That's a good idea, I can see adding calisthenics. I like the no equipment needed, no travel needed part.
-
Ok. Let's see if I understand. You are saying that 2800 calories is correct, but only with weight training added, right? I suppose I could get some weights to use at home. What about if I wasn't weight training, or exercising at all? Would I still eat that many calories? I am learning, so please try not to get so defensive.
-
I'm going to be honest here, I don't have a plan to weight train. Maybe in the future, but not at the moment.
-
Whoa man, no need to get aggressive. I never said that you were wrong, i'm only asking questions. As far as muscle goes, it is not a goal of mine to be muscular. Are you suggesting that I could deteriorate the muscle that I do have and cause damage?
-
I haven't had any meat this week, but you are right, I should probably find another source. Beans I guess?
-
Wow, 2800 sounds like a lot of calories? I've been following the calories that MFP set for me, why is that not enough? I haven't felt like I was eating very little.... actually i've felt pretty good and full. This is coming from someone who loves to stuff his face. Not saying your wrong at all, I just don't understand.…

I weigh 205lbs, and I am 6ft tall. I do not know my body fat %, but it is probably pretty high. I work at a desk and do not currently exercise. I ride a bicycle to work daily, but that is only 4 miles round trip. When the weather warms up I ride my bicycle about 20 miles, 2-3 per week. FWIW, I have lost 11lbs this past…

Not exactly the same, but I started my weight loss when my Boss gave me a suit and I couldn't button the pants. I was really embarrassed to write him an email letting him know that. I mentioned needing to loose some weight and he was very enthusiastic. It turned out to be the spark that I needed.
-
As a father of a 16 month daughter, I cannot even image the pain that you must feel. I'm very, very sorry to read about your loss. Now is probably the time to seek out family, maybe even grief counseling.
-
I only drink water, black coffee and tea. I think the generic black coffee item is 5 calories, so I don't really bother with it. Definitely log it if it's got 70 calories.
-
That is exactly what I do. I just split up my day into 4 chunks, that way I always have a spot that makes sense. It works great. My diary is open, feel free to look.

Here is what I ate tonight. Leftover baked ziti with spinach (skinnytaste.com recipe) and some roasted parsnips and carrots (sugarfreemom.com recipe) 493 calories and 16 grams of fat
