Transformedbyhim56 you are so right. I was always very active and though overweight I told myself it was genetics. I stayed healthy until in my fifties and then fell apart. Now at 62 my back is very bad, both knees have been replaced and my A1c showed me on the edge of diabetes in July. What a wake-up call! It finally hit…

Good for you. I am trying to log everything that goes into my mouth but it is hard to do, especially when it's something that pushes my calories or carbs over what they should be. Congratulations on your success. You are a strong woman!

Hi everyone. We are experiencing high temps right now in SoCal and it's too hot to walk outside. My mom has Alzheimer's and also doesn't get enough exercise. I picked her up and we went to the mall. She's 80 so we walked a little slower but still made it twice around and I got in 1/2 hr of walking which was good for both…

Did pretty well this week after a little schedule adjusting with back to school challenges. Today finished at 7 and went for a nice evening walk.

I use a glucose monitor as I am prediabetic.

I had both knees replaced in 2014. You don't have to worry about not exercising, you are up and walking same day, or day after if your surgery is late in the day! My first time up I walked 150 ct, with the next one I walked 250 ft same day and was discharged home the next day. You start PT the same week. Tips: take your…

This was a good week for me. Aug. 28th--235 Sept. 5---232.5 Hoping for 220 by Halloween. Walking 30-40 min. most days and using my recumbent bike on days I don't walk or for additional exercise in the eve. Best of luck to everyone for the coming week!

I love the avocado! Great taste, healthy fats, can be added to almost anything. Or just peel and eat. Even goes with, yes, nuts!

School hours for my grandson has destroyed our dinner schedule. His football schedule kees him busy until 630 or later. Have had to move dinner back to accommodate him and his late working dad. :( I do stop with dinner though, no snacking later! Good luck everyone!

I too thought my back pain was just sore muscles from the type of work I did until one day I was walking around an art festival and collapsed. My right leg had no feeling and I couldn't stand on it. At the hospital the mds thought Id bad a stroke until the MRI and cat scan came back. I had 4 bulging and one heriated disc…

It sounds like you have a busy social life and food plays a large role. You will have to take some control. Take a green salad to the BBQ and eat that instead of potato salad. Eat the hamburger and fixings in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. If your friend doesn't care for thin crust veggie pizza or two small ones so that…
