Context. My 2 hour workout in the morning or cycle in to work needs fuelling 2/3 hours before, because I am usually up in the higher heart rate zones. I need to eat to sleep well. Consequently I have a smallish lunch (15% of my calories) big high carb breakfast (30-50%) and biggish dinner with most of my fat (30-50%). For…

You'll be able to work those Oreos in soon enough! Once you reach your goal weight, your foot has healed, and you get into weight training perhaps, you'll be able to eat tonnes.
-
Sorry to hear that. I hope all goes well for you.

I saw the rice problem immediately. Mainly because I love it but when I weigh out my dry 50/75g I get the sads. It really is calorific! Good lesson here to be meticulous and keep questioning.

Starvation mode has been debunked 1000s of times here. She has enough weight to lose to be in those more aggressive weight loss goals. She has worked out now that she wasn't weighing her food, so she was eating too much. OP did you eat normally over Christmas btw? I did, and my body is just about now getting over the…

Cooking with it is very delicious. It's good for getting rid of candida. It's very high in calories and price. I'd rather spend my calories on wine, cheese, chocolate, chips or crisps.

To aim for a weight loss of 5lbs a week one would need a 17500 calorie deficit! Seeing as most people eat about 2000 a day you can see this wouldn't be a great idea. That's a 7 day fast with 3500 calories of exercise. About 7 hours of running. I think you meant that people should aim for a 1-2lb loss a week, and if they…

For your weight and height 100g of protein in should be plenty. It's the carbs and excess calories that are the building blocks to muscle gain. Recomp, eat at maintenance and get your lifting form to a good level. Bulk in autumn over thanksgiving and Christmas then start your cut in January. I'd say distribute your…

Why do you think these things are unhealthy? Carbs have their place in building healthy muscle and fuelling us. We are omnivores. Meat is fantastic, so full of nutrients. My diary is open if you want to see a healthy diet. I eat what I want within my goals. I'm full of health and vitality, much more so than most 45 year…

Oh dear. Poor kidneys :-(

Don't forget the glycemic index is based on the single food by itself. the addition of protein and fat to the meal would slow down the delicious crispy sweet roast edges of those mofos getting into your system. Roast is the only way! I do mine with jerk seasoning.

Try Phsylium husk, as it is pure fibre and fills your belly. You have to drink it quick coz its gloopy and jellylike though flavourless. It will also keep you regular.

Instead of sandwich eat your protein with tons of veggies. Non fat latte as a treat. Be thankful you aren't at one of those places where the office life revolves around food. In the end, hunger is your friend! Incorporate more exercise into your life so you can eat more?

So This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ OP patience will REALLY pay off here. You've done a fabulous job so far. Keep going! Keep us in the loop, I for one am interested to hear what happens. Take measurements, photos, and keep records. I want to see the befores as much as I want to see the afters. It's incredible how we can…

It's very hard NOT to get enough protein when on a bulk. It's everwhere, tagging along with all the carbs too.

Extra calories cause weight gain. Eat adequate protein, .8g per lb of body weight. Works out about four servings a day. All carbs are great for muscle building, especially fast releasing ones like fruit and pasta after weight training. If you want to build muscle then you need to get on a good progressive (steadily getting…

Yes, it's a scientific fact 3500 cals in a pound of fat. When you weigh yourself on the scale however, the weight consists of Bones Food and water in digestive system, Water in muscles skin and organs. Glycogen Fat Muscle Blood volume. And more All these things a fluctuating wildly, making it very hard to see if you're…

Loads of good advice here. Can I add something re sweet stuff in the house? I just don't have it in. I can't. What I do with my son instead is either buy him stuff one by one ie a doughnut to meet him from school with, a snickers or something he can get from the shop. All the fillers will be stuff like, crisps or lots of…

I ran a 21.40 5k when I was 43, two years ago. I'm waiting for some injuries to clear up before I try and get close to that again. I'd been running for about 18months at that point, pretty much complete newbie, fresh legs, and weighed 8lb less than I do now. Amazing feeling of accomplishment and power.

Start eating 250 calories more a day than you usually do. This will mean logging unfortunately! Try and go for a half a pound a week gain. Take it easy. You want half of that to be muscle if you can.
-
Yep. That's 150 cals under what I need before exercise. So I exercise a lot for treats!
-
Strong Curves is my go to nowadays, but quite surprised to see it listed as beginners. Surely that all depends on the weight that's being lifted compared to body weight.
-
Also, are you doing cardio? You need to eat those calories back too, or cut down for a bit. Lucky lucky you. I'm netting 1600 at the moment and I'm MISERABLE.
-
9lbs in one month. I'd want to eat everything in site if I'd been cutting that much! Congratulations. If you find you are craving food, have it. Log it, have a maintenance day. I get starving in the few days leading up to TOM or if I've been over cutting. Enjoy that lovely choccy

log calories then no need for worry!

Some of the leanest people I know ONLY do yoga. They just are very good with their calorie intake. Weight loss is all about calorie deficit. Whether it's dietary, yoga, ballet, walking, sprinting.
-
This is a bit extreme but when I was 123lb a couple of years ago I felt like a was floating in the wind and run a 21 minute 5k. My heart rate was lower from less stress too. I was a little underweight at that point but I was on a mission to find my racing weight. At 132lb I feel like a sack of potatoes. At 127lb I'm much…

You might get stronger and more flexible but unlikely to gain muscle. I do it to keep me from eating for an hour and a half. Seriously, I have to sort out my hamstrings so I love me some yoga. I burn 100 calories maybe so if I was eating at maintenance that would be a pound a month loss right there.
-
Yes, they'd have to be super accurate with calories, be near the beginning of their lifting career, know what they were doing and have youth on their side perhaps? Sounds like an oxymoron to me!

Then there's the French joke when they say the English kill their meat twice. Once when they slaughter it and again when they cook it. I think that's quite funny. My brother lives in France and we eat steak tartare or steak 'bleueu' which is amazing!
