During my first FM, I grabbed the wrong pair of shoes, the ones with 350 miles on them instead of the ones with 30 miles on them. Like @Stoshew71 said, set your alarm and do it before the rest of the day eats away at your free time. I find it easier to do in the morning because I'm still half asleep. I learned this in the Army. No runs for me over the weekend, but the wife and I hiked a small piece of the Appalachian Trail on Monday. It was our 4 yr anniversary. She had always wanted to see some of the trail and I had done almost 100 miles of it years ago. Hit the road again this morning for 5.05, rounding out my monthly distance to 34 miles.

So after I got home, I kicked my shoes off and noticed something unusual... Is that a screw?! I went and got a screwdriver, the only time I can ever recall having to use a screwdriver on shoes, and backed it out. I'm very glad this wasn't 1/4" or 1/2" longer! I looked inside and it did not go all the way through. Whew!…

Today was a 12 min speed test for 10k training plan in Endomondo, then I ran out the remainder of 4.25 miles to get back to the car.

I'm in for 70 miles this month (I hope!). Last month I barely made 65. 6/1 - 4.5 miles 6/2 - 5 miles

Has anyone tried a forearm phone holder, something like this? Seems like it would be easier to get to than on my bicep. And armbands don't usually have long enough straps for me.

5k this morning! A race PR for me, at least in recent years! I would have done a little better, but the first 1/2 mile of the course was packed with strollers, people chatting, and general obstacles to negotiate before open pavement. Still, not a bad time for a middle-aged, fat guy! I like the shirts. It's going to be down…

I went out and got some fancy new Brooks this weekend. And everyone knows red cars are faster, so my new shoes being red, they cut 3 minutes off of my 5 mile time today! ;)

A fairly slow 4.5 to stretch out from yesterday's 10k run. I'm thinking I might should have set my goal higher. I have more time since I can work from home a few days a week, saving me about 3 hours of commute time on those days.

So today was supposed to be a long, slow 4.5 mile run. I couldn't keep my pace that high and ended up running faster than intended. Then, I decided I wanted to run more, so I just did a 10k. :)

I work out only in the morning. When I was in the military, I found it great to work out in the morning because you can literally be 1/2 asleep for a lot of it and not even realize you are doing it. I usually get up early, have 2 cups of coffee, one sipped, one with some ice and chugged, take care of business and head out…
