Actually, if you think drinking out of those little cups while running is hard, imagine trying to eat a taco on the run.

@stoshew71 I'm sure if you mention it to some race director around here you can have a taco run. We have donut runs and beer runs, what a little taco in between.
@bakins929 happy anniversary and great pictures

@elise4270 that would be good too and easier to hold on to

@Bakins929 - Congrats on your anniversary! My husband really wants to do that hike.
@kgirlhart - Great job on having your pace get faster during all this heat!

No run today - but weight training and a Spinning class tomorrow - maybe I can work a run in there as well.

I had to get out for an evening run because 1) the temp is so nice right now and 2) I had a big custard-filled donut from a local bakery at jury duty this morning. So good. It almost made up for the interminable waiting around. Eventually I was dismissed and now my service is done.

Anyway, the run was ok but I am having some trouble with my foot going numb. I think it's my shoes wearing out an I've ordered a new pair. I hope that will solve things.

That's quite the day of eating @MNLittleFinn! I'm jealous of the Dairy Queen - we don't have them here (or at least very few, I have heard rumors of one I need to track down)! I have to hit it up every time I get back to the midwest to visit. Getting so close now to your race! Exciting!

    We need this in Huntsville.

    Description
The timed Taco Mile will be on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:30pm starting at 135th & Oak. We will run the race in several waves based on projected times. Each participant will eat one taco before running each quarter mile in the race, for a total of four tacos of eating and one mile of running.

How does one even project their own time for this?

The Rochester, NY version is called "Taco de Mile" and is held on Cinco dey Mayo, of course. I didn't run it, but I've heard several runners discuss the fine points of balancing the eating and the running. It was put in as a warm weather follow up to the Donut Mile on January 1; same thing, only 4 donuts instead of 4 tacos. Based on my perception of the mass American desire to appear to do healthy things without actually adopting a healthy lifestyle, I expect both races to be around a while.

I might go watch Taco de Mile if it's convenient next year. I expect the Donut Mile will conflict with the 7.5 mile Resolution Run on New Year's Day, and I'd rather run 7.5 miles of hills on January 1 than go watch people do a 4 x (eat a donut, run a quarter mile) workout.
