I was at my all-time highest and pretty frustrated with myself. I happened to get food poisoning and lost a few pounds in a couple of days. Instead of going back to my old ways, I figured I might was well use that as a jump start to a renewed diet effort.

Am only a few pages into the thread, but wanted to go ahead and jump in the comment pool.... I spent more than a decade being well over the 'normal' BMI for my height. When I set up my goals on MFP, I intentionally set my goal weight about 8 lbs above what I consider to be my absolute ideal weight (128 vs 120) because I…

Hello! I'm here - first time checking this group in a while. I usually just keep up with the people in my MFP friends list (feed) since that is easy to scroll through and comment on. Maybe we could brainstorm a couple of thread ideas that the group is interested in and would be more likely to be active in discussing? For…

Hi y'all, Kimberly from Texas here. I'm 32 and am down 35 lbs with another ~15 to go. Anyone can feel free to add me if an active user with a profile picture up and preferably an open diary. Cheers!

Love this post - it is a great reminder that even our failures can provide a valuable stepping stone toward our future success. The introspection described in your post is something that I think most of us could/should improve upon in order to increase our odds of long-term success. (I'm not skipping eating for a day…

For me it is more a comparison to where I was in September 2013 when I was at my highest (178.6) and unhappiest. Since then I I have lost weight, regained it, and re-lost most of it (147 currently). In 2014, I ran farther, ran faster, got stronger, and learned how to make better food choices. I especially love this thread…

I've been in the same boat. Sick with a cold for the past week (and so haven't worked out at all during that time). I've been focusing more on getting rested up and getting healthy as fast as possible in order to get back to it. That said, the motivation to become active again is proving to be a struggle! Long way of…

Hi chica, I'm not here to drop knowledge (based on your daily logging it always seems like you are doing what you 'should' be doing) but wanted to chime in to let you know I'm thinking positive thoughts for you and am here for you whenever you need a rant. For what it's worth, I do think that the lifting program will help.…

Congratulations, you look fantastic! Proud'a you :)

Yesterday I posted that I was struggling and one of my MFP friends sent me the link below. I was floored by just how inspirational it was - I put it on when I was on the treadmill last night and had one of my best runs in a while. Highly recommend! http://youtu.be/9z4Kft47kBM

Also, it made me laugh that you put my name in quotation marks :)

My rear end and hips refuse to go down in size... right now I'm a size 6 in a dress but an 8-10/29" in pants. I'm hoping to get down to a size 4 in a dress and 6 in pants.

If you go to my profile, the pictures posted there are me at around 150. I am in between 5'5" and 5'6" (started at 178.6). I am pretty happy currently, but my goal is to end up in the high 120's.

Just be glad you aren't the reverse. Trade? :)

To be fit enough to only date men with abs. I don't want to date the C team...I want the A team! :)

If you haven't been logging your food, then you are likely eating more calories than you realize. In addition, it probably isn't fair to compare yourself to your teenage weight since it is natural to gain some weight when you grow up and become a woman. For basic first steps, you should consider determining a healthy BMI…

I think there are a couple of these groups/threads going. You may want to use the Search function for "Christmas" and consider joining forces with the other folks that have a similar goal. 25 by Christmas is a little aggressive though has please stay healthy! Good luck

Because if I can't do it one a Sunday with zero obligations, then when can I do it?

In to hear the answer. I have a Garmin GPS watch and HRM so the next logical step is to go with the vivofit to monitor daily activity (instead of another brand) since it with sync with the other devices. I haven't heard as much buzz about this one so am interested to hopefully see more responses to this thread.

I am much happier when I feel thin, fit, and healthy - looking forward to getting that back.

I've tried and failed many times on this front. Getting up early in the morning has always been a chore and nearly impossible to do. Until recently. I joined a gym that I love and now have workouts that I actually look forward to. In the past couple weeks, I have been waking up well ahead of my alarm and have been eager to…

^This. If it is wildly innacurate for some folks, it is either due to fluctuations in dietary/exercise habits or due to incorrect data input on calorie intake, etc. I tend to get into a routine with my diet and exercise, so the computations are very accurate for me. I personally really enjoy being able to see the numbers…

Isn't this a zombie thread?

Consider just keeping the unhealthy foods out of the house if portion control is going to be an issue. Alternatively, consider buying things that only come in single servings so that there isn't as much risk of semi-unintentionally taking down multiple servings in one sitting. You might also be able to find some snacks…

Agree with all the comments on here. The only thing I would add is that you should also think through what drove you to the box of donuts to see if there are any root causes to be addressed in order to mitigate the risk of it turning into a repeat behavior. Good luck!

I've basically had to give it up - I make terrible food choices when alcohol is involved (especially the day after) and stay up later than I normally would which makes me tired and more inclined to skip work outs. I have taken more enjoyment lately out of seeing results on the scale and in the gym. I will still have the…

Good for you to acknowledge the back-slide after just 10 lbs and take initiative to do something about it. I have been up and down on weight over the years because I let the weight creep back on and am usually 20-25 lbs deep before I acknowledge that there is an issue. We are here for you!

No pee problems here; keys safely in pocket in shorts. I like toenails but they don't like me - they all keep jumping ship. My current complaint is dogs in strollers. I don't mind people taking their dogs out for a jog and I don't mind people taking their kids out in a stroller, but taking up the trail with your yappy…

These are my people! I've been jogging and have an 8 mile race coming up. I just joined a gym 2 days ago and am starting to set up a lifting program, too. I would love to connect with ladies trying to find a similar balance. Feel free to add me!
