Oh yeah! I'm also Vegan (kinda important...)

AMAZING You win at life.

Yeah, I also think you're eating too little! head over to this group and check it out, it may well help you: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3817-eat-more-to-weigh-less :)

These guys are right about BMR/TDEE, you really need to look into it. If you eat at least your BMR but not above your TDEE, you'll lose weight. It may take a little while for your body to adjust to being fed properly again, but you will. It's physically impossibel to eat your BMR and not lose weight, once your body…

Hi! I am :) have been for over a year now. There are loads of us here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/46-team-vegan Hope to see you there!
-
Yeah. my response to "What do you eat???" is "Clearly, enough!" Though for the past year I have absolutely been a junk-food-vegan, which is why my weight has stayed the same until recently, when I've started eating my BMR and making better choices :)
-
Thank you OP for such an amazing thread!! You rock bigstyle :D
-
As a long-standing vegan, my favourite ways to get protein are hummus and beans/lentils. Om nom! Also, avocado is amazing for heart-healthy fats and keeping you full for ages :)
-
Also, eating 20% below my TDEE puts me at the MFP BMR number... Does that mean that the MFP is not in fact my actual BMR, but just my TDEE - 20%? If so, I should stick to eating my BMR even though it's slightly more right??

Thanks so much for your support :) I believe that I have (after 3 years of soul searching and on/off counselling!) worked out why I had an ED and, though I won't go into detail why I developed it here, I hope I'm now strong enough in myself to resist the urge to go back, which is really more of a terror of the unknown :)…

Thanks again to everyone who's giving fantastic advice and being supportive :) I'm now hoping that others who may face the same difficulties as me will feel supported and they can always add me as a friend or message me too.
-
Aww, thank you! You made me blush :D
-
Wow, there are so many lovely responses! Thank you so much everyone, for both your advice and general support, you guys are awesome :D
-
@em9371 - that's so great that it's working so wel for you! :) well done. I plan to up my exercise a bit once I'm properly up to speed with my BMR and stuff, boxing has always looked fun! I'm definitely going to be eating more seeds and avocado and stuff, though I do not need an excuse to eat more hummus :D @xxxzaraxxx…

If I could 'like' this here I would :D can I add you as a friend? I use tofu a lot in my evening meals, and sprouts, and am trying to get more spinch into my diet too (especially as I'm already prone to iron defficiency). I can always have a spoon of nut butter if need be :D
-
@rkorduner & @Laura - thanks guys! I've been doing a bit more reading up while the thread's been running and I'm definitely going to get me some protein shakes :D seems like a really good way to get a chunk of my daily cals in a healthy way, especially after a jog!
-
@ Linda - thank you for being concerned about me :) I have had counselling and extremely limited treatment but honestly feel ready to do this, it's just finding out that I was doing it wrong completely threw me for a loop! I have a great family and wonderful fiancee and friends, who all look out for me and make sure that…
-
@MrsLong - Hi! :D that makes so much sense, thank you for taking the time to reply! I think protein shakes are definitely the way to go, and thanks for pointing out the jogging thing - you're right! That'll be my next stop once I've gotten up to my BMR I think :) x
-
Thank you! :) xx

Yes, my choices are incompatible with yours. I appreciate that you're trying to be helpful, but telling an eating disordered person in recovery that you need to eat 800cals a day to lose weight is the OPPOSITE of helpful. I won't say any more because I don't want to get angry as I understand that you were trying to help,…
-
Thank you for this :) you've helped me feel a ton better! (And thanks for your first paragraph in particular!) I'm going to make a list of really helthy but high calories foods (like nuts/seeds/avocado etc) so I can feel okay about eating them :) fingers crossed it'll all work out...
-
Hehe, that's ok :) I'm gonna do protein shakes! Seriously, thanks for your response, it was really helpful :) x
-
Wow, thank you!!
-
Thank you <3 I have added you as a friend after seeing your thread :) x Thank you Emma! You're a great example :) I eat a lot of hummus for protein (I love it!), and after what you've said am going to try adding protein shakes to the mix :) thanks again! xxx
-
I like the idea of upping it slowly, that does seem to make it a little easier to deal with :) I have thought that maybe a protein shake would be helpful, especially to 'eat back' the calories after a jog? It just seems less scary somehow. And as I'm vegan it's more difficult to get it into my diet... Thank you so much,…

Oh honey, I'm sorry you're having a hard time of it! I have suffered with EDs on and off for years and am struggling at the moment with recovery too. I will add you, and am here if you need to talk :)
