Why am I not qualified? Because of what I look like in my avatar?

He thinks that ultimately only calories matter. He does recommend a minimum fat and protein intake per day based on your weight. Carb grams can fill your extra calories if you have room for them.
-
At the beginning of my calorie logging journey, I would frequently eat all my calories by breakfast. Sad.
-
Geez, you must have a never-ending supply of self-control and motivation to do something like this (weighing to the gram, always overestimating calorie amount, etc.).
-
I often hear the "drink more water" tip here but I find that it doesn't work for me. I already drink a lot of water normally anyway. Water does not make my cravings and false hunger go away. Sometimes a couple nuts might help but then it's really easy to overeat since they are so calorie dense in tiny portions.

I wish I had enough lean muscle mass to spare 830 cal on a breakfast smoothie. A meal like that is almost half of my daily calorie allowance.
-
These may be "low calorie" but it's also low-nutrition. I like to augment my smoothies with vanilla no-carb Isopure protein whey. It makes the smoothie more of a proper meal in terms of nutritional value.

What about that "risk free guarantee" on the website?
-
Gosh, I am so fat.
-
but you already look so amazing and beautiful! So when trying to get extra lean, you have to really lower your carb intake? The majority of my carbs currently come from vegetable and fruit and it was difficult to get there.

His body shape does look like he is naturally thin, doesn't it? I wonder if that's part of the reason why he was able to drop the weight so quickly and easily.

TJ has a lot of unhealthful, processed foods packaged under "organic" labels that fool a lot of people into thinking its nutritious. Stick to the fresh produce, low-fat dairy and meats. I like TJ's nonfat plain Greek yogurt in the 4-cup tub. That's what I used to get all the time until I started shopping at Costco for…

Uh, I'd like to get under 10% but not sure if I can. My body has never had a "low" body fat and seems to be trying to hold on to what's left right now (and there's a lot of it).

You should put in the post that the recipe as it currently is is written for UK people.

I've looked at most grocery stores in my area and can only find either low-sodium or non-fat, never both in one package unfortunately. I'm still looking so if you know of a brand, please let me know.
-
Is there a brand that makes a low-sodium non-fat version?
-
I'm trying to find a low-sodium, non-fat version but can't seem to. I don't think it exists. The low-sodium version some stores carry are too high calorie for me. The fat-free versions have a ton of salt. Urgh.

Wait, so the calorie information on the Quest bar is inaccurate? What's the cheapest place to get them? The best price I've seen is $24.99 for a box of 12 which is still rather expensive. I don't like that they are high carbs but that's a given for all nutritional bars.

I'm less than 15lbs from goal weight and trying to keep up motivation to continue trying so hard. I bumped up my exercise intensity a lot but it has also made my appetite go kind of crazy. I eat at a rather small deficit and that takes a lot of self-control. I'd like a much larger deficit but I don't have enough control…

Grrr I'm still jealous of you.

Great post. I'm exercising a lot and eating very well and losing about .5lb a week or less. It's a bit disheartening since I started this journey obese and it wasn't "easy" to drop weight fast before but it did happen a lot. Now I'm really trying to stay motivated as I'm only about 15lb from goal weight.
-
Stress is linked to fat gain btw so it's important you sleep well and do activities that relax you during your weight loss efforts.
-
Isn't there science to show that doing cardio exercise while your blood sugar is low (fasted state) means your body will burn fat (and some muscle?) to fuel the exercise?
-
I wasn't disputing that Americans eat more today in calories compared to generations past. The point about weighing 1000lbs was to show how absurd it is to simplify weight loss to calories. Your metabolism can change for a myriad of reasons. Feed two individuals 3,500 calories and one may gain weight, the other may lose or…
-
because your metabolic rate decreases as you carry less mass which means your daily maintenance is getting lower and lower as you get close to goal. duh

change 1 cup frozen fruit to 1/2 cup frozen fruit AND 1 cup frozen leafy greens. The taste and volume pretty much won't change but the smoothie will turn greenish. Also, change the yogurt to nonfat greek yogurt for more protein. I'm on a smoothie mode like you but realized that I unfortunately needed to cut back on the…

This argument is used to justify the higher prices of casein since it is a "slower absorbing" protein than whey protein. I don't know what to believe anymore.

It's unfortunate that depression treatment in this day and age is still so minimal. Medication may or may not work and therapy often takes years to have a little bit of affect. For you, I would recommend getting professional help from a therapist who specializes in ED. It's about the best thing you can do for yourself if…

For some people, one bad day can become many bad days and eventually break the good habits you took so long to establish (i.e. "I ****ed up already, might as well go all in"). It doesn't look like you are letting that happen to you. Your dramatic increased weight is most likely water retention from the alcohol and…

You look too slim to be doing IM. Most of the people who do IM do it to restrict the number of hours they can consume food and therefore be less likely to overeat. It sounds like you want to do IM for convienence? I'm just concerned that for someone as slim as you, you might start losing lean body mass by doing IM.
