  • I've learned if you're not losing weight but you're under your calories and seem to be within your macros, it's for two reasons. 1. Your calorie intake is too high, or too low. You need to find the sweet spot. If you're eating 1300 and not losing it's probably too low. If you're eating 2200 and not losing you are probably…
  • My Dad's diabetic. Hasn't been able to control his blood sugar with all the insulin in the world while eating carbs. The ONLY time he ever got his sugar levels down to a normal range is when he ate strict Keto. 225g of carbs is WAY too high.
  • Thank you for your kind words. I know I can't throw out the scales though, If I get on them every morning I keep my weight under control. It's when I start avoiding them that I pile the weight on again. I think in my mind it won't be that bad when I do weigh myself and then I'm devastated to find I've gained 20lbs. I know…

  • Not seeing anything in your diary, sorry.
  • I use butter, cream, a little vegeta (vegetable stock powder, just a sprinkle) and liberal with the chili powder.
  • Interesting how there is so much out there on "do this and this will happen", drink vinegar, use essential oils, take magnesium, take krill oil, have a glass of red wine a day, take aspirin, don't take aspirin, etc etc until eternity. It's interesting how no one ever thinks about these things in conjunction with each…
  • Maybe put some of the things you DO like into your diary and see what macros they contain. Fatty cuts of meat if you want to add fat. Salami/pepperoni is good. Chicken thighs instead of breast. Tuna in oil instead of springwater. Fry your foods in butter or coconut oil.

  • You could definitely use a bit more fat, and a bit more food in general, you're 900 calories under. EAT ALL YOUR FOOD. :) Avocado, butter, mayonnaise, coconut oil, etc. I used to eat less fat than my target, and I struggled. I was hungry. I could never find that place people talk about where they're not hungry. Eating more…

  • Can I just say that even if you cut out dairy, butter is fine? It's not like cheese and cream, it's a fat. Also, if you like a "white" coffee, but are trying to ditch the cream, try butter. Seriously. On my sink I have a stick blender and a glass jug. I make a coffee (instant mostly), pour it into the glass jug, add about…
  • Could easily be real weight. I gained 30lb in 4 months eating carbs. And not binge eating either, just the regular amount the rest of the family eats. Not even sweets or softdrink, but bread and pasta and stuff. I can't lose weight if I don't go super low carb either. I tried the CICO method. tried from 1400 to 1800 cals…
  • Thank you, you're right, I know. That is exactly what I struggle with. On the outside I'm a kind and confident person, but on the inside, I've never been good enough, for anyone. Especially not me. If I don't think I'm good enough, how can I expect anyone else to? In fact I believe a large part of the reason my marriage…
  • Thanks Twibby. No one says. It's a belief inside of me, as strong as I imagine a belief in God is in some people. If I told someone who goes to church that God doesn't exist, it's just a book, a made up story, something people tell themselves to justify all sorts of things, or to feel they belong to something greater than…
  • Robin, my Dad has diabetes. Caused from a lifetime of poor diet. Diabetes has turned his arteries into strings of pearls (thick and thin parts). He had a quadruple bypass at 50, and has had an average of 1 to 2 heart attacks a year since then. He is in hospital probably once a month. He is so bad they can not do any more…
  • I get anxiety if I go over 20g :open_mouth:

  • My partner bought cashew butter, and didn't like it. Unfortunately I do like it, and have often been seen with a big spoonful of it in my mouth. Oh well, it'll be all gone soon :P
  • Nothing worse than a reformed anything. My Dad is particularly bad with the cigarettes. He used to smoke 2 packets a day, now if he sees someone having a cigarette he carries on like they've murdered someone. If you like a couple of drinks at the end of the week - alot of people who are NOT alcoholics do - then you could…
  • These. But ... make them in a 12 x muffin pan. Lightly oil or nonstick pan, put a little grated cheese in the bottom of each hole (I add some chili powder). Bake until bubbly and let cool. You'll have nice round "cheese crackers". If they're chewy or floppy you didn't cook them long enough.
  • I make a double in the morning. Pod coffee, butter and only sometimes coconut oil. Blended til it's really frothy. I drink one at home and put the rest in my flask for mid morning. It's about 350 cals for both (if you care about cals) and it keeps me from being hungry until I get home from work at about 1pm. I used to use…
  • Bacon is not merely meat, it's so special it deserves it's own mention.
  • I'm a great cook, and not a sweet tooth, but I spent years eating too much and too many carbs. I love vegetables, but I would make cheese and spinach pastries, potato bake, all manner of unhealthy things. Home made bread rolls with butter. Pasta OMG, so many kinds. Home made lasagne, ravioli etc. Everything with butter,…
  • Sounds disgusting. I've seen recipe's for smoothies with chocolate and avocado as well and I just can't bring myself to ruin perfectly good avocados.
  • I shopped online this week and had it delivered. The only thing in my shopping that DIDN'T go in the fridge was coffee. The rest was meat, veg, eggs, butter, cheese, mayo, bacon, avocado etc. Our Foodland has almond flour and stuff like that in bulk that you can buy just a scoop of, ends up being really cheap compared to…
  • cream cheese balls rolled in sugar free jello (tastes like cheesecake, yummy) twiggy sticks (like salami sticks) little 40g tub of Philadelphia cream cheese and some ham cubes of cheddar cheese pork crackling cook a roast beef/pork/chicken thighs. Slice up and put in a container in the fridge. I'll often grab a slice of…
  • No mooncheese in Australia :(
  • It's okay, I don't care anymore. I sold it on ebay. Useless thing tbh.
  • Just one comment on this ^ 1/4 cup butter is NOT 8oz. 1 cup of butter is about 8oz (or 250g). 1/4 cup butter is about 2oz.
  • these ... http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Cauliflower-Breadsticks-546079?prm-v1&utm_medium=email&utm_source=seasonal&utm_campaign=Cauliflower%3A%20the%20secret%20to%20low%20carb%20comfort%20food make some, omg they're great
  • I'm under 20g a day. Some days under 10g. I pretty much eat meat and eggs. Not much in the way of veges. Cheese, butter, cream, mayo. I don't have much trouble doing it, but I seem to eat alot of eggs due to the fact that they are cheap.
  • I keep mine at 20g or less. Any more than that and I'm not in keto.

  • Hi Holly, You can add me. I am 40, and while my blood sugar is fine diabetes runs in my family. My Dad is one of 11 siblings, and they all have T2 diabetes. My Dad was diagnosed when he was a little older than me but I'm sure he had it long before he went to the Doctor. Diabetes has destroyed his arteries (the specialist…
