Correction ... we HAD bacon. Someone needs to go to the shops.

Cook them in the oven. On a sheet of baking paper.

I spread pepperoni out on an oven tray and cook til crispy. I do the same with cubes of cheese to make cheese chips.

Given that weight loss is 90% what you eat you shouldn't find it too difficult. Exercise is good for toning and fitness but not crucial to weightloss. I work at a desk, and I study. I go horseriding once a week. I eat low carb. I feel great, and losing weight is not a problem.

I think of my desire to binge as my inner 3yo. That b!tch has to be told no. We all know what 3yo's turn out like if you give them their own way all the time.

I would stab my whole family if they came between me and the last slice of bacon. Without hesitation. ;)

I find it absolutely appalling that "would you lick sweat off the person above's back" (or whatever) gets 65,000 replies but someone with a genuine question needing help might get 3 replies and one of them will be some cow telling them that the question has been asked before and they should search the forums and not waste…

If I'm having a "OMG I can't deal with all the RESTRICTION anymore" day, I just eat protein and fat, all day. Way too much but still no carbs. Because, see, the problem with carbs are they kick you out of ketosis, they make you feel rubbish, and for me they trigger of this thing where I can binge eat for 3 months. So a…

It's done it again, changed all the butter in my diary to cups instead of grams. Apparently I had 97,620 calories yesterday.

We will have to agree to disagree I think. The average person going to the gym or walking or whatever several times a week is NOT going to put on enough extra muscle to greatly affect either their weight or their calorie burning.
-
That is not really a representation of the average person. And I guarantee he lifts too, he doesn't just run.
-
Nah I don't think they delete it, but since they introduced that stupid flag function the angry carbers will flag anything they don't agree with. I've received about 40 flags so far just from commenting on posts with my opinion. Nothing rude or nasty, just a comment.

Lol. Yes, the main forums. Hungry people are nasty huh? I like to pop in every now and then and post something like "Jesus ate low carb, and so should you" just to watch the sparks. :) (that was a joke, I'm not religious)

I disagree with most of this. I lost 60lbs. I did not lose more weight exercising than I did by not. There is no reason to work out like a mad person at the gym 6 times a week. You have to work real hard for an hour to earn what amounts to just a few extra calories. I don't workout now, I ride my horse once a week, that's…

I think the fitbit is easier to use. I went out and bought a JawBone UP which was supposed to sync with MFP but after months of trying (I have an IT background and it was all set up properly) I gave up and sold it on ebay. It never worked properly. The fitbit app on my phone syncs with MFP perfectly so maybe a fitbit…

I've come to the conclusion that not only do carbs make you fat, give you joint pain, cause diabetes, but they are also bad for brain function. They seem to cause a high level of narrow mindedness and a generally nasty temperament. I, too, can control my eating on low carb, after 20 years of trying to stick to low fat low…

I read about this water drinking thing, and I'm just not sure I get it. I would drink probably 5 coffees with butter in them a day (mostly instant so not too much caffeine). In the afternoon/evening I will drink a 500ml bottle of cold water. That's it. I have never had a problem with dehydration or lack of weightloss. I've…

Fattier meats are cheaper than lean meats. I am on a budget at the moment, on pay day I usually buy some chicken thighs, some regular beef mince, some chuck steak, etc and freeze it in meal size portions. As I'm usually cooking just for me (my partner and his kid eat schnitzels and pasta and such) it goes along way. I have…

Let them take their best shot, I can take it :) I spent about 4 years in the main forums defending myself and those like me before I retired to the peace that is The Low Carber Daily Forum.

I can tell you that the time I made "bread rolls" out of psyllium husk and almond flour (about 2g net carb) I was horribly bloated and kicked out of ketosis just as if I'd eaten a white bread sandwich.

I put in 101.3 one day and 101.4 the next (weigh ins) and it posted on my wall that I'd lost "0.0kg Well Done !!"
-
It's been doing this since year dot. I've had it reset my macros, change things from 1g measurement to 100g or 1cup measurement (there's a big difference between 14g of butter and 14 cups of butter). I've also gone into recipes and added everything, saved it and it's shown 5 serves at 580 cals each, but when I've put 1…

The theory is that fiber, while technically a carb, is not digestible so you don't count those carbs. So if something had 8g carbs, 5g of which is fiber, it would have 3g of digestible carbs. Be very careful with this though. It's probably fine for things like vegetables, but on 90% of packaging the sugar plus the fiber…

No sugar. Just sugar free bbq sauce, paprika, garlic powder, chilli powder, a fair bit of salt. I marinade overnight, then pop it single layer in the oven on it's lowest setting (about 90 degrees Celsius in mine) for 3 hours each side (6 hours total). I don't have fancy appliances but I suppose you could use one of those…

I'm almost cured of my snacking, but I do have little 50g pots of pate and 40g tubs of cream cheese sometimes. Also the odd bag of Nobby's pork crackling. I like to put cream cheese on the pork crackling :) I also make my own beef jerky. About 1.5kg of lean beef a week - but my partner loves it also and won't leave it…

I've sent you a request.

This is not low carb? 45% carbs, 20% protein, 35% fat is more like a HIGH carb diet. You're losing weight because you're eating low calorie and you are fairly active, that's all.

This is not the case for some of us. I have a broken "satiated" switch. I did an experiment where I kept my carbs under 20g a day for a month but didn't count calories and I gained 4.5kg (about 10lbs). Even now, I'm well into Keto, but I'm sitting here counting the minutes til lunchtime because I'm starving. Or so I think.…
