  • you are amazing!
  • I got mine! Monday, I think.
  • My husband lost 20 lbs and I lost 16, I think. I know I lost 40 in two months and as of last week had not gained back one pound. I love the 24 Day Challenge!
  • they use wheat in styling products for sticking power. It is a binder and a thickening agent in food as well as other items. Back to being gluten intolerant or celiac... as I have not taken the DNA test I cannot call myself a Celiac. Only a DNA test makes that name change. I have all the symptoms of a Celiac and it is in…
  • I don't know why people think that stopping gluten is bad unless you have to do it. Challenging yes but not bad. Your body does not need wheat, barley or rye nutritionally. You can survive without it just fine. the Celiacs, gluten intolerant and gluten sensitive people prove that daily.
  • that blood test is not 100%. It only shows if you the the Celiac gene and being severely gluten intolerant can not be tested by the blood. A biopsy is used for that. However, that does not work if you have already quit eating gluten and most of us refuse to go back on it after we get off. Gluten is in everything. After 2…
  • thank you for starting this thread. It inadvertently clued me in on what has been causing some of my left over celiac issues. After going to cosmetology school, I was taught how awesome Redken is. It never occurred to me that my Redken ringlet 07 that makes my hair fantastic was killing me too. Sure enough, it has wheat in…

  • not true that you will regain the weight when you resume eating. You may regain 5 lbs as you will actually have food in your GI tract. I did a juice fast for 20 days and lost 20 lbs. I regained 5 lbs. I will be doing it again hopefully for 30 days after I finish my 24 day challenge. It helps me deal with my food control…
  • there is a lot of sodium in holiday foods. Water weight is the only plausible answer.
  • I am working on it. I try to be mostly vegetarian but have lapsed in the last 2 weeks. I try to avoid dairy and processed foods. Being a Celiac, I am unable to use most meat substitutes as they seem to add wheat to everything!
  • nope. But then again I have not tracked for the last two weeks. A little vacation was needed for me and on Saturday, I look forward to tracking again. sometimes, this girl needs a break. (I have not gained one pound back yet either)
  • what is done is done. Scale back on everything else and tell him next time that you will need to discuss it first.
  • I use splenda. Once a day at most. Aside from being overweight, I am extremely healthy. I am working on that right now.
  • http://www.godairyfree.org/recipes/pumpkin-bread-vega-gluten-free made this today! So very yummy. http://www.forksoverknives.com/chef-dels-mushroom-stroganoff/ this is so very very yummy http://www.forksoverknives.com/cajun-cornbread-casserole/ this is on my wish list…
  • LaChoy soy sauce is gluten free. Malt is made from barley and you have to watch out for that. Watch out for modified food starch unless it specifies which type. Add me as a friend if you want. Canned chili- wolf brand is gluten free, dinty moore beef stew has always been gluten free, bisquick has a gluten free mix, it is…
  • awesome!
  • According to the Nagi Model this would be an impairment or disease not a disability. Maybe even a functional limitation but I can't justify disability.
  • or, you can eliminate dairy and limit meat for the most part. Let everyone attack me! Go ahead. But it is just science. Geez. You can have meat on occasion but not 3 times a day. My husband had severely elevated numbers and for 24 days he eliminated dairy (he drinks almond milk with his cereal), and ate only 4 oz of meat a…
  • SODIUM! and well, I no eat gluten or I want to die. However Subway is coming out with a gluten free product and has already in some places and then I will go have a veggie sub if they don't cross contaminate with their gloves from touching gluten and then the veggies and back again. That being said, deli meat has far too…
  • This^^^^^ After finding out that I am gluten intolerant, the only way I can control myself is to eliminate foods, not eat them in moderation. So, except for the occasional bit of deer meat or fresh caught fish, I eat non processed vegan type foods. It is hard but it works. On a side not, my hair and skin really do glow…
  • total life style change. I eat nothing like I used to. No more processed foods, no refined sugars...I feel so good, there is NO going back.
  • I may just to be able to have perky ones. LOL. I have always been a big busted girl and regardless my hubby has promised me a lift.
  • lots of veggies and no processed foods. So easy to do. My husband gripes at me for wasting my time counting calories. Since I mainly eat 80% veggies and 20% fruits and nuts I can't ever seem to break 13whatever MFP assigns me. It is cool. I eat ALL THE TIME. I love it.
  • I never delete. As long as I am here, I will still be their friend. A lot of bad things happen in a short span of time. That is no reason to abandon them.
  • I graduate as a Physical Therapist Assistant in May. I hope to work in pediatrics. I do come from a long line of nurses though.
  • I like Advocare supplements. The Spark energy vitamin drink gives me my B12 that I need on a daily basis. I love it so. It is my treat every day.
  • This! If I eat mine back, I gain weight. So I never log any activity but if I go over a little, I don't freak out either.
  • I have dietary restrictions (Celiac) so I always bring my own food and eat with the group, They try to accommodate me and I refuse every time. Same with diet. Bring your own and socialize. Let them know that it looks wonderful but you would rather just hang out.
