I've had good results with it in the past, I would just eat 1 big meal a day and then maybe a snack or two. I was probably undereating a little but I felt satisfied and lost about 10 pounds doing that.

I switched from beer to shots thinking it would help me cut calories... go figure, I gained at least 10 pounds since then. I was actually the thinnest I've been in the past 5 years when I was drinking a decent amount of beer and intermittent fasting.

I gained around 20-25 lbs from drinking since last summer, and I just felt a lot more attractive and confident at my old weight so I want to get back to that.

I want to lose about 25

Cooking with most vegetables isn't too expensive if you keep it simple with just a few ingredients. Also healthy grains/bulk food like rice, lentils, etc are healthy and cheap. Or you can take a recipe and cut out steps to save money, like using water instead of buying stock for soup.

5'7, I was 155 at my heaviest, around 140 now and my goal weight is 130.

Wow!

I get major water retention whenever I go out for a night of drinking and it usually takes several days for my weight to go back down. Sometimes it can take up to a week. It's frustrating but it will go away eventually.

1200 is a low number so if you eat calorie-dense unhealthy food, you'll reach your limit a lot quicker and still feel hungry whereas if you eat healthy food you can eat a larger quantity since it's usually lower in calories. My goal is also 1200 and I eat healthy and I have a hard time not going over without starving…

If I have a cheat day once a week, it basically means that I lose/regain the same 2-4 pounds over and over again. And I don't binge or go crazy on cheat days -- I'll go out drinking and end up somewhere between 2000-2400 for the day. It's not enough to gain pounds of actual fat (my TDEE is around 1800) but for some reason…

Whenever I try to limit bread for calorie reduction I'll just try to change the nature of what I'm eating -- so instead of finding a bread replacement, I eat stuff that's naturally gluten free.

Sounds like me -- I find a lot that when I'm tracking calories and especially logging exercise calories, I end up focusing too much about what else I can/can't fit into the day. Sometimes when I burn a decent amount through exercise I won't even be especially hungry but I'll think, 'Well, I COULD eat back more of those…

Anywhere from $90-$130 a week for two people. We eat mostly organic but not 100%.

I'm 23 and like guys in their 30s-40s. I briefly went out with a 43-year-old when I was 22 but that felt like a little too much, and he had children the same age as me which was kind of weird. I'd probably go up to late 30s for a long term relationship.

Baby carrots (about 30 = 100) or grape tomatoes (about 50).

I dread exercise of any kind. I'm not in a rut -- I've just never been an active or athletic person. I like the feeling of having worked out, but I hate the act of doing so. I don't get an endorphin rush or any of that. It will probably never change for me. I go through the motions anyway because I like the benefits.…

You look so much younger!

Organic berries, especially blueberries (or inorganic... even those are like $4 for a 4 ounce box). Salmon also.

I get those comments from my boyfriend, if I say that I'm not in the mood for pasta or whatever, and he'll respond with sarcasm, 'Oh that's right, I forget you're on a diet and you'll never eat pasta ever again because of the calories'. Nothing you can really do about it other than ignore.
-
I'm with you on this. I always find it weird when people say they forget to eat, etc because I'm really into cooking and cuisine so planning meals is something I enjoy doing every day. I wish I could forget to be hungry!
-
That's what I do. It mostly happens when I don't have enough going on with my day and I'm just sitting at home obsessing over my calorie limit and planning my next meal.

Yeah, I see a lot of this and it's just backlash. Weight control is a real issue for a lot of people and I would never criticize someone for being overweight, especially if they were making an effort to begin taking better care of themselves and to become more health-conscious. But there are a lot of people out there who…

I'm 23 and between 5'7 and 5'8. Current weight: 150 Goal weight: 130 I try to keep it under 1,400 calories a day but go over sometimes, and I try to burn about 1,500 per week through exercise but I don't exercise every day. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. My goal is to slim back down to the weight I was a few years…

The only thing I could think of is that maybe you lost some weight and did it too quickly so your body ate into muscle along with fat. Like other people have said, building muscle is the way to go.

Based on my own experience, I would have to say that eating at a calorie deficit for weight loss IS the only factor. There are times when my diet is as clean as I could possibly get it, and I still don't lose weight because I'm not at enough of a deficit. I'm not good at keeping my net calories consistent. Part of it is my…

I've found that when you're cutting out gluten it's easier (and healthier) to change the structure of your diet vs. trying to find gluten-free replacements for things like bread. So I'm low gluten, and I eat more vegetable-based dishes and rice/quinoa/lentils etc, more eastern/Asian cuisine, and things like that. I tried…
