  • Yep they have tightened the reins on what is considered controlled. 4.5 is average around 70-80 and 6.0 is going to be around 110-120 ish.
  • As everyone else has said, you lost 30, gained 8 back because of major life changes and events. That's not horrible. You don't like how you feel or look so you are motivated to get back on track! You are looking back into 5k's which we enjoyed, so there is another motivation. As for the new desk job, try getting up every…
  • Yes and no. First thank you for suggesting and actual RD. We do appreciate when someone knows the difference. As for the online certification-there is no certification for nutritionist. if someone has a certificate it is a fake one. Anyone can claim to be a nutritionist, however this is not a recognized title/credential.…
  • If its a waste of your time then skip over the thread. no one has forced you to reply, nor has anyone else who posted on here been forced to do so. its only a waste of time if you think so, and in that case, just move on. I do not find it a waste of my time.
  • The profile pic is from when she first joined over 26 pounds ago.
  • Walked about 2.5 miles yesterday. The step counter below is in 1000's. So far I've done about 10,000 steps total with a goal of 120,000 steps for the 60 miles goal.
  • Your area should have a low income clinic somewhere and you can go there for little cost out of pocket.
  • you can still have the surgery with depression. You have to have a psychological screen in order to have the surgery (or at least you do in the US now) and even with depression you can still qualify. About the only way depression will rule you out is if it is debilitating and you cannot truly function. If your depression…
  • Most insurances/bariatric surgery centers actually require a psychiatric screen to be completed prior to surgery now too.
  • If diet and exercise just can't cut it-and sometimes it can't-then surgery is another option. HOWEVER there is a lot to consider. What is your BMI as that is usually a qualifying factor for coverage or even surgery. most places (at least here in the US) want a BMI greater than 35. If its lower than that and they have…
  • Welcome Michelle! I'm glad you came to join us from Craigslist and I'm here to help you along. I think your first goal is a very good one. Remember its easier to set small goals and achieve them than to set large ones and struggle or fail or get discouraged. I accepted your add and look forward to watching you progress…
  • If you are too tired and feel horrible at 1200 calories then do not eat 1200 calories. the starting point is to log everything including coffee whether its black or not, and all soda in your food log. This will give a better idea of what you are taking in and where you need to change.
  • The thrifty meal plan that snap uses is not a great meal plan to figure out money. The amounts they give are not enough to sustain without buying the cheaper junk foods. In my Dietetic Internship (I'm a registered Dietitian) we had to follow their thrifty meal plan and use a small convenience store like most low income…
  • Soda is just sugar water and empty calories. When I was waitressing I drank soda (diet because I'm diabetic) during my entire shift. You are probably drinking more soda than you realize. Log everything that enters your mouth so that you are accurate in caloric intake.
  • Normal is actual 4.5 to 6.0 now.
  • Healthy weight loss is slow weight loss. Be patient and follow the above advice tis good advice

  • Ug that just turns my stomach and makes my whole body cringe.....but some people love them
  • I would check with the police and a lawyer to see what all you need for harassment charges in your area. You may already have enough other than no name.
  • If a co-worker answers and someone asks for you, have them get a name before telling them if you are there or not. Then if they hang up like she has been you have a name. Have you tried *69 to call her back, that may freak her out a little bit too. After a week of info I would call the police again and give them a copy of…
  • There is no start date, just whenever and whatever state. Figured it would be a fun type of motivation for people. You can even add more state appropriate foods to your diet while you are walking that state-texas have a little tex-mex or some BBQ/ steaks. Just keep in that calorie goal!
  • I am sorry to hear that. it sounds like you have not yet given up on life though. As we age we also lose our appetites as natural part of aging (though this is not true for everyone) or many have dementia or the like which causes them to forget they need to eat. When my Great grandma was getting close to her time the…
  • If a vegetarian and vegan are not supplementing with vitamins/minerals then they will cause a lot of health problems to surface from deficiencies. Eating healthy unprocessed foods is not the FAD. But following a specific diet like Paleo is a FAD. You don't need a specific diet formula to eat healthy and unprocessed foods.…
  • I normally use a pedometer and have figured out that for me 2000 steps is equal to 1 mile. Until I find my pedometer (recently moved) I am using the app ecowalk on my phone. Its off for mileage counting so I base it off steps.
  • Edit that, I had about 7000 steps by time I stopped for the night
  • everyone is doing so great keep it up guys!!
  • 10/11/13--3.5 miles total 10/13/13--6 miles 536.5 miles left
  • Most nurses don't get a long enough lunch break to make a lot of healthy choices. they usually snack on what they can when they can, and many times that comes from a vending machine. If the hospital they work in doesn't have a 24 hour café then they are extremely limited in food choices. Shifts are normally long, and they…
  • Ive been on the Minimed pump since 2000 and have loved it the entire time. As for the fear of the cord, I just wind it up and tuck it into my pants. I wear my pump clipped to my waist band of my pants, or skirts. If I wear a dress I have a leg strap that it slides into so you don't even see it. Most people think my pump is…
  • With the change to a pump, your eating habits and the decrease in insulin this quick weight loss seems fairly normal and should level off soon. Are you checking ketones? You should monitor ketones as well when you are first starting off to be sure those are not increasing or playing a role. Good luck and congrats on the…
  • The OP is not on an insulin pump so basal rates don't apply to her. Nor does skipping a meal.
