  • I have wondered this for a while! Thanks for posting...very informative.
  • I havent taken phenedrine...but it is supposedly similar to ephedrine, which I did try. I tried it for 4 or 5 weeks. I did help a lot with appetite suppression. But i stopped taking it because of the side effects. I was taking a much lower dose than a lot of people. . I didnt notice them very much, but my boyfriend…
  • Thanks for the info guys. I now am sure that I should be recording my weight everyday to encourage me, because of observed patterns. I was in the habit of recording my weight only after a had sustained a loss for a few days, but it is very discouraging. I love that weightgrapher.com! Gonna try that for sure. Thanks!
  • I know the most accurate way to calculate body fat is with calipers. 50% sounds too high. I got a consistent reading of around 43% on a handheld electronic body fat % monitor back before i lost 60 lbs. I know i didn't just lose fat..i lost some muscle and water.
  • LoL...Im not sure of my body shape as defined by fruit...I just pulled up an online calculator that says I'm "Spoon Shaped" Not sure that that means....that I like eating maybe :)
  • Ive used a few online calculators to estimate by Body Fat %....most ask for a few measurements. Most I get around 27%, but the military formula has me at 40.8%. I think I would have to be somewhere in the middle of both of those. But if I use a bf% of 27% on IIFYM I get different numbers than you. What BF% did you…
  • My thick head....it finally makes sense. TDEE is confusing when you compare it to MFP. They both give you the same end result...its just displayed differently. MFP says to lose 1 lb a week I should net 1600 cals. (Eat back exercise cals.) According to TDEE I should eat 2000 cals with my current fitness program (insanity) I…
  • i lost 30 lbs in 3 months when i first started dieting and working out. I was eating 1300 - 1400 cals a day and doing 30 minutes of heavy cardio on an elliptical and lifting weights for 10-15 minutes (weights and cardio 5 days a week) I was not eating back my exercise calories. And i was 265 lbs. I dropped weight so fast…
  • I don't have a heart monitor yet, but I input my workouts as 40 mins High impact aerobics, which says I burn 425 cals per workout. BMR is the amount of calories I would burn if I was lying in bed all day. TDEE is the calories I need to maintain my current weight working at an office and doing Insanity 5 times a week (…
  • My go-to meals are: 1. Tacos with extra lean ground chicken. (or chicken breast) I don't eat the cheese or taco shell. I add spinach and diced tomatoes, salsa, avocado....and have a taco salad. Very tasty. 2. Homemade Chili with garlic bread ( i skip the garlic bread) You can squeeze lots of veggies into chili 3. Any broth…
  • Great job! I am almost there with you...I thought the same thing too. I started at 263 and am now at 201. Its a major accomplishment! Be proud!
  • Thank you for sharing your story. Very inspiring. I like your no excuses down to earth attitude about it all
  • wow! well done! great progress. It took me 2 years to do what you did in 5 months! Be proud. I know that is some hard work!
  • That little cutie is my nephew....so no baby weight excuse for me :( And thanks!
  • i know the feeling...but whether you feel like it, to everyone else you look much younger and like a totally different person. (family members see changes gradually so they get used to you as you change...just like you do.) Dig up some old photos of yourself and imagine being that guy again. Always helps encourage me when…
  • You can eat the meals you like, but make simple substitutions to get the calories lower in your meal, so you can eat more and feel full. For example instead of pasta and beef spaghetti sauce, I use extra lean ground chicken instead of beef. (half the calories) And instead of pasta I used lentils. Sounds gross but its…
  • I know it can be difficult to see the changes yourself. I can a difference in your cheek and chin area. They both look narrower and more defined. Great work!
  • Must feel Awesome to reach your goal. Enjoy it!
  • I tried them for a month and ate my "maintaining level" diet and didn't lose a single pound. They taste yummy tho :)
  • I think it would be cool if they had a weight loss clicker that showed how much weight was collectively lost by everyone using the site. Would be kinda motivating!
  • Popcorn is a great late night snack. It takes a while to eat and it feels like you are really snacking! Pop it from plain kernels (not the microwave, buttered, seasoned kinds) Add a little salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder....whatever seasoning you like really and enjoy. (No butter, oil etc) 3 cups popcorn is only 93…
