I am working nights as well. Sleep is absolutely important for weight loss...and mental function...and energy...and stress, etc. Fitting exercise in on the days I work actually helps me sleep better. For me, after shift works best, but it might be opposite for you. Also helps to "graze" throughout the shift - little snacks…

Add me too :) I'm having to restart...again....but I'm sticking with it this time. I have to :)

The way I do it is...one moment, one minute, one day at a time. Break it into smaller and smaller pieces until there is something that doesn't overwhelm, and go from there. BUT. You have to go :)

I thought this was a recipe, lol! No crazy diets, you can't maintain them after you lose the weight, and they're not practical for every day consumption, when it's the lifestyle that got you overweight in the first place that needs modifying. Alas, there are no shortcuts... :)

I do, because that's what the numbers are. Besides, we're gaining muscle mass too ;)

You're in good company, my friend lol The best thing, for me, is to not look back any further than which mistakes I made so I can learn, then move forward. If I sit there wondering where I went wrong, I would still be sedentary and not losing anything lol

You guys are awesome, thank you :)

We all need friends :)

I keep something healthy within reach at all times...and crystal light packets (drinking just plain water is difficult, and I like the sweet without the calories ;) Logging everything helps too - seeing cold hard numbers is a huge deterrent. Look them up before you indulge, and usually you can find a suitable replacement :)

I empathize with you a great deal. My shrink told me something that kind of resonated with me, and maybe it can with you, too. He told me that the root of all my depression was from flawed thought processes - I felt (and still feel sometimes) that if I don't do EVERYTHING by myself and/or (God forbid) ask for help, I am a…

You can add me too. I am a single parent of a 9 and 3 year old boys, and I can understand being uprooted, I've been uprooted all my life, and now I volunterred for it by being in the military lol I am new to town, and any friends, even online ones, are awesome. :) One step at a time, and we're with you the whole way :)

I stir fry a turkey kielbasa sausage, then add in a package of frozen red, yellow and green bell peppers (Bird's Eye), heat through. Then I serve rice on the side. The turkey is a healthier substitute, and the kielbasa seasonings mix well with the peppers. My picky picky 3 and 9 year old boys love it! :)

I also had no idea what this site could offer. I'm here to help and cheer and hopefully get the same :) Friend me if you'd like.

We're here for ya! :)

50/50 chocolate bars, next to the diabetic foods. It's really thick, so eating one square or two is very low cal. I eat the dark chocolate one when I absolutely have to have something. Also there are these little Stix that come in a variety of flavors, like butterfinger and crunch, but are low cal as well...in the same…

It's soooo tempting to lie-log, but it is what it is, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just have to buckle down.....it only hurts me when I lie to myself, so screw everyone else, they're not in my shoes :D

Look up Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder...sounds like you in a big way. The national institute of health has a website with legit info on it - ncbi dot nlm dot nih dot gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0004461 only take out the spaces and put a " . " instead of "dot" :)

One day at a time, sweetie. I think great challenges help us see what we are capable of :)

I too had that realization a couple days ago lol :)

We're here for encouragement :) Once you've truly made up your mind, you can and will do it. : Best of luck! **No fate but what we make**

"So what are you going to do about it?" It's the answer everytime I'm not happy with something, and what I have on my journal. Others include: "No time like the present" - in other words, get off your duff, missy! "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - We all have to start somewhere, the point is to start…

That's the cool thing about doing an exercise/diet program - you get to your goal, and find you can reach even higher! When I first started (at 247), I wanted to get below 200. And then I did. Then I wanted to fit into my wedding dress. And then I did. Then I wanted to fit a size 10. Check! Then I got slack and life got in…

What I meant to quote just now lol

 And, of course, you'll be completely hot in them when you put them on...and they fit!

I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital, so it's go, go, go. I try and take a walk with my boys in the evening, time with them and for me. On my off days I do the strength training plus cardio. Having a gym that has daycare is a must for me :)

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." SOOO true. Deciding to do something about your weight is the first step...truly deep down committing to the loss. You've achieved the second step - finding this site. Also really good is calorieking.com (their journal isn't free, but their food library is, and is very…
