Supplements
One friend got me started on Beachbody. Seems okay though the nutrition programs insisting on using their supplements rubs me the wrong way. Another friend gave me an Isagenix starter kit. Also seems ok, but I don’t like that the app is centered on ads for their products. A few ladies I follow are staunch 1st Phorm…

ISO A**hole Friends
I am good at admitting that I'm not doing a good job with my nutrition and exercise. I am fairly decent at tracking my blunders. What I am not good at is making sure I finish tracking the day and doing the exercises I need to do. My MFP friends are great, friendly, and supportive; I think I need a few a**holes to call me…

Craving like a junkie
VERY stressful day at work with no end still in sight...felt crazed, even a little panicked...didn't know where else to turn except a candy bar. I felt a wave of calm go through me. WTH?!?! Any suggestions to curb the craving for awful carbs like that? I think I might understand (even if just a dim glimmer) of what a…

Pleasure vs Necessity?
Many folks who have had long-lasting success with losing weight is because they were able to change their outlook on food. They are able to view it as 'fuel', and don't look at it as a comfort. I have been able to lose weight by denying myself the pleasure I derive from eating whatever, but it always comes back because I…

The night is darkest just before dawn...
The only good thing about having been afflicted by depression before is recognizing when it's coming through again. Having a hard time wanting to stay awake and be active....having a hard time staying motivated for anything...having an extremely hard time logging when I know I've already gone over - the "why log, I know I…

What to do when you're flagging?
I find myself starting to lose some of my motivation. It is no one's fault but my own - I accept the guilt, and the realization that I use food as a bandaid and a crutch for problems rather than just simply fuel, that I don't set myself up for success because it's easier to do nothing rather than get up and do something. I…

No caffeine/no stimulants
So, apparently caffeine is not good because it can cause an insulin response. I'm not allowed to have my Adderall anymore. I'm dragging really REALLY bad. Any suggestions? I am drinking lots of water, so I'm just falling asleep while needing to pee lol Might cave and get a Diet Mtn Dew anyways........

Where to go for Paleo?
I am finding out (quickly and increasingly), most of the food at a typical grocery store are not Paleo - they contain all sorts of extras that I don't want, even the "fresh" stuff. Where do you go shopping for foods/snacks/etc? Also, what do you do at restaurants? Health is my priority, but I don't want to break the bank…

Flavored water
Mio has been a life-saver because it gets me to drink more water...HOWEVER, it's not very Paleo of me (artificial sweetener). What else can I use? I know of lemon juice...but its not sweet. Is this something I just need to suck it up and get used to or is there something else I can use in place of the Mio?

Runtastic equivalents
Does anyone know about how many calories are burned during a Crossfit session? Runtastic Pro does not have anything similar, and I would like to get the # calories burned right. Is there a substitute I can use instead, or do I need to get a different app?

Night shift pains
So here I am, working my 12-hr night shift in the hospital. I have been drinking lots and lots of water (I'm up to 64 fl oz and counting - I've been using the Mio stuff). I ate a can of soup with a "fresh stack" of saltines. I had an orange and an apple. And then another orange. So why do I have this bottomless pit feeling…

Special considerations for illness?
I have been sick the past couple of days with whatever virus is making its rounds this week (the snots, coughing, etc.). I did not track what I ate or try to do any exercising because I was so out of it (lots of sleep, hacking cough, etc.) My question is this: what do YOU track when you are sick? I guess I felt my diet…

Cravings and feeling deprived
For starters, I AM NOT MAKING EXCUSES. Just looking for suggestions on how to kick cravings and feelings of deprivation. Situation: I am currently working night shift at the hospital (yay, nursing!) and I rotate every two months. I have been packing my lunch. I realize that I have not put a lot of thought into it, and tend…

What a headache!
So after running, I get big head and earaches, especially in cooler weather. Anyone know what gives? What I can do to prevent it? Because these cooler days are perfect for running outside otherwise, I would hate to waste such lovely weather by being indoors. I have tried earbands, hats, earbands and hats at the same time.…

Good exercise program?
I am currently thrashing myself at the gym with a leg day, a shoulders/chest/back day, bi's and tri's (with a lil more chest) day and my least favorite, ab day. I do my cardio after said workouts. I am also getting bored. I try and switch up machines, and I am usually a "good" sore afterwards. I am not sure how far I can…

Why oh why?
I'm having some issues. I am working out steadily now (first time in a long time, but finally on a med regimen that helps me function like a real human being), but having difficulty with the appetite/type of food thing. It is hard when running around for 12 hours and am flagging to say no the the cookies someone brought…

Back in the saddle again
Today is the 7th day of tracking calories and exercise (not necessarily on here the entire time, but definitely on my notebook). Good to be back at it again. I had previously went from 247 to 150 using this method, so go with what works, right? I had started at 180.0 lbs a week ago, I am down to 175.8, so I think I'm off…
