I agree that you have to have some foundation to what you are doing and in that MFP is not as much a "program" as a tracker. However, it does give you a calorie goal and breaks that down nutritionally, so in that it could be a program to follow for good healthy eating. I agree, whatever it is...it is working for me and…

I find the community here very supportive and helpful. I am a recent WW transferee. I agree with the poster who talked about this site giving you the break down on nutrition rather than a point that is pretty magical in how the point is determined. There is no question that you can lose weight on WW and that it is good…

I think that Princess is the best person to answer that question! She got it just right. (IMO) You should learn to eat what you want and manage your intake in a way that is realistic and healthy. Some people find that their taste changes over time and the things that they used to crave just don't do it for them anymore.…

They have a great grilled chicken salad. I carry my own salad dressing or get their dressing on the side and just dip my fork in before putting the salad onto it. They also have a very interactive online nutritiion tool on their website, you can build what you want and print it out so you are ready to go on Sunday. Best of…

Try Her Room Dot Com. I got two there a couple years ago. One was like a really pretty corsett for under my wedding dress and the other was a regular strapless bra for the rehearsal dinner and the reception dresses. Good Luck!

While I had good success with WW....twice (first time in the 1980s lost 60 lbs and got my lifetime membership and then again a couple years ago I lost 80 lbs) I am ready to move on from there. I think that WW is good for helping people visualize good eating habits and you CAN lose weight with them, obviously, I did. Having…

There is another thread of converted WW folks floating right now. I would encourage you to read some of their posts. I am 54 and from my high point (237) to my goal I have as much or more that you have to lose. I don't deal with chronic pain issues, though I did have to had ACL surgery last year and dealing with tennis…

This is my first day where I left WW behind completely and concentrating on MFP only. I sort of tracked in both locations for a few weeks and found that I really like this site better. I agree that this is a better way of being accountable for things. There is no proprietary magic points system that cannot be translated…

Thanks for that Chantel. I agree that the body requires a balance of nutrition and that is what I am struggling with. The book tries to set you up for that by talking about real hunger and listening to the cues that the body gives that says it is ENOUGH...to stop eating (or stopping eating whatever you are eating at the…

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that they had a website. I was telling my husband about the book and he sort of said what you said...that he may be interested in using that sort of approach once he (we) have lost our weight as a way to develop a healthy attitude toward food and exercise. I appreciate the…

Wow....where did you find such a class? From what I am reading we shouldn't even be measuring "success" by how many pounds we are losing. I allow myself to eat whatever I want that day, but regulate the quantities and "listen" to my body cues. I work out because I love it and I ride my bike for 30 to 50 miles at a time…

Hi Brian, good to meet you. Best of luck in your journey. I have just moved away from Weight Watchers to MFP. I was happy and doing fine on WW but found the proprietary nature of WW to be a little stifling. Besides, this is "free" and I think I will do as well or maybe better. I know what you are talking about with the…

You have taken a good step to get involved with tracking your intake and communicating with others for support. Congratulations. When undertaking an effort like this, you need to be kind to yourself and understand that over time your thoughts and priorities will shift and working out will become a part of your day. I found…

Welcome Janice. I am still enrolled (along with my husband) on the WW site and have had some good results, but I think that for a host of reasons, I will be moving over here exclusively soon.

Hello Gabe! I think that you have come to the right place for that particular goal sharing. It is what we are all about. Best of luck.

I am also a lifetime WW member getting my lifetime back in 1982. (Post baby weight for a baby who is now 31 yrs old.) Since returning to WW I have not gone to meetings, using online only. I love the online format and find that this site is easy to use and that counting calories is a straight forward, no nonsense and not…
