Welcome to the site! As far as what to eat... well, in my opinion, its fairly simple. You can eat whatever you want as long as it's fewer calories in a day than you burn
I'm sure there are other people who will go into more detail, but for me, it's pretty much been that simple. Burn more than you eat and the weight starts coming off! There's actually a pretty good post on here from people sharing low-cal recipies. Give it a look, maybe that'll help

Welcome! You CAN do it!

I'm fairly new, but I'm trying to eat more and more whole foods - things in as close a state to natural as possible (this doesn't mean not cooked, just, not much processed stuff with man-made chemicals added in) - fruits, veggies, whole grains, awesome spices, and things made with these, etc. This doesn't mean I don't have the occasional piece of (dark) chocolate or glass of wine lol - but, meh, it's a process.0 -
u can do this, trust me. I just took some clothes to the cleaners to be altered and the lady ask me what diet i am on, well, its a life change of eating less and keeep moving. For e.g i take the steps instead of the elevator, walk to the store as far as 3 miles back & forth. i just keep moving, and of course portions are important. As i said b4 u can do this, just take it 1 day at a time and have fun. GOOD LUCK0

I might not be the best person to answer this because I truly eat whatever I want lol, but I will say this all things in moderation, portion control is definitely key and being as active as you can, like jamaka said keep moving.... You can DEFINITELY do this. I have lost 70lbs in 4 months trust me YOU GOT THIS & you joined an AMAZING community that will help you attain your goals and get you to where you want to be. Good luck on your journey and feel free to add me if you want. I am always here to encourage and motivate

I think that Princess is the best person to answer that question! She got it just right. (IMO) You should learn to eat what you want and manage your intake in a way that is realistic and healthy. Some people find that their taste changes over time and the things that they used to crave just don't do it for them anymore. Let that happen naturally.
I have lost 26 pounds since January and Dove Promises (one or MAYBE two per day) are my treat at the end of the day. I enjoy the taste of one of those squares and really do not want anymore after that. My blood pressure is so great, my cholesterol is in check and I am feeling better than I have in years. All of this while still eating food that I enjoy. Portion control, listening to my body regarding when I am hungry and when I am full and exercise are what have helped me along to this point.
When I started this journey in January, I knew that I had to do it for life or my life would be shorter as a result. So, to do it for life I had to work inside my own world of food, what I like and what I can do without for the most part. I am working my way through that process and it is working for me.
Best of luck in your journey.0
